Does it work with Leon and his black tail? Or is it unique and consistent only with Ada or Hunk due to the TMP’s rapid fire? Cuz from the looks of it took considerable amount of shots and he only tripped once he was literally in your face about to hit you. Also can it work on the armored Garrador? Unlikely but I’ll ask anyway.
I think personally Hunk is the easiest character to play as, due to how simplistic his weaponry is. TMP and grenades, plus the very helpful neck-breaking move when enemies get stunned. I find myself using Hunk a lot in The Mercenaries when playing RE4.
This isn't just a great video, it's officially the standard I'll recommend people to. I went form struggling through the Village to one-shotting every level.
The super Salvador, in my experience, can effectively be stun locked with headshots from the TMP. I'd have to test it more but it seemed to work on him and it works on most other enemies in the game. It probably works on JJ too.
Only when he's not swinging the chainsaw is that effective. Once he's swinging, he has significant resistance to the TMP and won't always be stunned. Hence why I showed other more reliable methods of dealing with him.
In the Krauser guide you said he's the character that most people have an easy time obtaining 60k with but not for me, it was a nightmare, lol The character that was easy to do 60k was this fella, and what a blast playing as him is! Still have Wesker to do, but Hunk was the easiest and the most fun out of 4 characters I've played so far. And again, ¡muchas gracias amigo!

Oddly enough, the island was the toughest one for me. Yes, waterworld has the Super Salvadores (I was killed by them twice) but man, keeping my combo in the island/base was SO FREAKING HARD. Took me around ten times to pull it off. As always, you're awesome dude!
Yeah, the issue with base is that there's only 117 enemies (101 on NTSC GC) so you have to cover the spawn lines constantly to keep them coming. Fortunately, the 3 JJs compensate for this, since they're 10k each, and if killed in a combo of 10+ then they actually count for 14.5k each.
Currently on my journey to obtain the handcannon. Thanks to your guides on leon and the others ive 5 starred them. Kinda stuck on hunk though. Lol. Then after that ive saved the best for last... Wesker.

You have no idea how much this helped me to get five stars in all maps with HUNK. Especially on the Castle AND in Waterworld. And in Waterworld, *especially* the trick to make Super Salvador fall into the water. Without it, I never would have managed. And even so, in the Castle I *barely* managed to get to 60k and then I had to go back and hide at the starting point to wait out the remaining minute to survive. After killing two Garradores (one armored and one not), I had to run from the (armored) third. Also a shame that since I play on PS2, Salvador wasn't idle underneath the tower for me

when i first completed this game, i had hoped that if you mastered all levels with 5 stars rank that you could play as that character in the campaign. i would have loved to play as hunk.
that would have been absolutely insane but RE4 already has superior replayability to so many games it is ridiculous. Main campaign plus new mode plus new weapons plus pro difficulty Side Campagin with Ada X 2 Mercenaries mode Different costumes, all it lacked was some kind of multiplayer ( I do not see this happening in any kind of way maybe coop mercenaries? Then again imagine playing as Leon and random cop with no dialogue) and as you said a way to take mercenaries character for a run in another mode. This would have been too annoying to implement I feel, would wesker punch kick el gigantes ass? Would they use exact same weapons as Leon? Neat on paper but maybe nobody ever thought of it anyways Re4 is one of the best game of all times
Happy to say I just got 5 stars for Hunk on each map! Kinda proud he's the first one I reached that with. The tips and tricks really came through, especially on Waterworld, can't tell you how many times I've messed that one up
I played this game to death back in 2018 and have decided to start again. I wasn't able to score 60k with Ada Wong but with other 4 it was possible not easy but doable. For me Hunk was God tier. His neck breaker puts the bosses to shame

Oh great....I was afraid of hunk after seeing his load out in mercenaries and after you saying he’s one of the worst I’m not wrong 😂 shouldn’t be as bad though because the only ammo you get is for the tmp so just spray and pray and use Grenades on the mini bosses... but no other weapon jeez... with Leon atleast you have the shotgun to stun the bosses and break shields in one shot without wasting bombs.
He's actually one of the best. I said he's considered one of the worst by people who don't know how to use him lol. His TMP generally can wreck shields and stun bosses a fair bit. Just follow my tips for dealing with bosses and you'll be fine :P

How people say "Hunk is the worst?" Leon clearly the worst merc. But i get it, somebody loves shotgun. But HUNK is my 2nd favourite due to several things: 1) it's HUNK. 2) Neckbreaker. 3)Loads of TMP ammo, and i like how ganados wigle when getting shot a lot from that thing. 4)Flash grenades, work as good as shotgun, also initiates Neckbreaker.
Probably because they try to use the TMP on bosses and die before they kill them. A lot of people make judgements based on their experiences without knowing what to do. Hence these guides show that all the characters, even Leon, are pretty solid and viable.

I used to think Hunk sucked ass, then I noticed most ammo drops were TMP and grenades, so he has virtually unlimited ammo and you can gun down everyone. I dare say he's easier to play with than Wesker/Ada. Leon is the worst by far.

The one where you run up and down the stairs so you don't have to fight the boss I can't seem to keep a combo going and don't know when to grab the multiplier

Only 10 enemies can be on screen at a time, so you need to kill to make space and run up and down both flights of stairs while sometimes opening the door. You can consult my VR guide for a more detailed look at the spawn loops.

cause the tmp lacks stopping power so the other mini bosses will tank through but as you saw 80% of the clip will kill anything no matter how big it is.
The worst part about the PS2 version (of which I’m trying to unlock the hand cannon) is that there are no chickens in the village and the Super Salvadores on water world spawn in their aggro state 😵

The main problem with hunk is that he is not good at crowd control unlike all other characters He does have grenades but they take time to both throw and explode
His TMP can instantly stun most regular enemies and kills them quite quickly, so I wouldn't say he struggles with crowd control all that much. You can also chain his neckbreakers for invincibility

I'm gonna be real, he is so broken in the vr port. With him having a tmp and those grenades you can just run and shoot throw a grenade or two, any ganado in the way? Spray them while running up to them for the easiest kills ever with his neck snap
Is it possible to have 3 salvadors appear? One time after killing 2 salvadors, a 3rd one showed up. I thought there were only 2 maximum for waterworld.
I ACTUALLY like hunk cause he's weapons are easy to use and it's one gun so ammo is almost infinite. Plus that neck snapp. The only downside is powerhouses usually eat a lot of the ammo. Still I like him better then Wesker. I fucking hate Weskers set up

None of my multiple suggestions are working for you? You can't use the fire grenade to stun him and shoot his plaga? Or use a grenade and do so, then if he's still alive do the same again? Or just head upstairs to the top floor to avoid him spawning entirely?

You really helped me out with the Village and Castle and now I have 5 stars on every map with both HUNK and Krauser. Once I get another night off from my studies, Wekser is up next... I have to say, replaying Water World with Krauser made me realise how difficult that map is. Not so much to survive, but just to get a high enough score. I can never seem to get high combos on the map, as there never seem to be enough foot soldiers for me to kill and I can't get the archers to stop spawning in and taking up enemy placement space. My combos always seem to taper out around 10-17. Took me ages to get 60k with Krauser, as I kept finishing with only about 55 to 57k. I must have fluked it with HUNK on my first try.
P.S. Those Bella Sisters can get fucked. The number of times those ladies surprise killed me from out of nowhere or my "Neckbreaker" wouldn't work and they'd recover from their stun and slice my neck open was ridiculous. Also, I never knew HUNK had a "Kick" attack until replaying the Castle! That thing is insane! It just obliterates the shield Ganados in one hit.

Indeed he is easy to use, as he only needs 6 bullets to deal with the bella sisters; and there's a load of strategies shown in the video for the other bosses.
Copy my movements, The TNT ganado will only throw if you turn the camera in his direction. Take your time with dropping down too, wait for him to climb the ladder if necessary

If we're going to be extremely pedantic then his name isn't even HUNK. It's Hank. Hunk came about due to a translation error. There are far more stupid fan errors to get annoyed about in my opinion.

Funnily enough, if you watched my PS2 guide for Super Salvador, then you'd have learned that you can avoid him spawning completely on that version.

Leon is indeed underpowered, though not to the extent some people might initially think. My Leon guide for all maps shows he can compete just fine.

I'd rather say hunk is easier than leon. Even he only have one weapon and one type of grenades he also has the deadly neck breaker. I can't say he's worst
And one more thing, garrador is the mini boss that i've fun to kill (main story not in the mercenaries).

Some people struggle with his TMP against bosses and declare him the worst. Personally I think he's one of the best.
cause the tmp lacks stopping power so the other mini bosses will tank through but as you saw 80% of the clip will kill anything no matter how big it is.

The worst part about the PS2 version (of which I’m trying to unlock the hand cannon) is that there are no chickens in the village and the Super Salvadores on water world spawn in their aggro state 😵
For 60k the chickens aren't a deal breaker, and I have a specific PS2 Super Salvador guide, as you can avoid him spawning entirely on PS2
Bella Sister's neck can break, but can Hunk break the necks of Doctor Salvador, Garador and JJ when they stun?

considered the weakest? well his neck breaker is pretty gg and you only have to worry about 1 gun and grenades. the tmp is pretty good at spraying a praying.

The main problem with hunk is that he is not good at crowd control unlike all other characters
He does have grenades but they take time to both throw and explode
His TMP can instantly stun most regular enemies and kills them quite quickly, so I wouldn't say he struggles with crowd control all that much. You can also chain his neckbreakers for invincibility

@@Sarcosuchas i think hunk is great he is one of the best character in mercenaries as i mentioned only problem is armored gerrador but leon he struggle a lot in every stage because he must be close as possible to the enemys cause he only got his shotgon for dealing with bosses you must make a guide on how to use leon your guide was good for leon and it was for 60k not higher points and btw leon gameplay is really fun because he is the only one on re4 mercenaries who has shotgun im enjoying your vid

I think in general Leon is the only tricky character for 60k, but even he is pretty easy once you're familiar with mercs.
Sometimes on the first bonus chest.. i mess the timing up when i shoot the red barrel and the kills don’t count on the bonus timer
Then pick up the bonus first.

Somehow the re 4 of switch made the dynamite ganado at waterworld throw and ruin the trick everytime
It didn't, you've just got to be very careful with what way you're looking. If you look in his direction he'll throw it, even if you can't see him

I'm gonna be real, he is so broken in the vr port. With him having a tmp and those grenades you can just run and shoot throw a grenade or two, any ganado in the way? Spray them while running up to them for the easiest kills ever with his neck snap

I ACTUALLY like hunk cause he's weapons are easy to use and it's one gun so ammo is almost infinite. Plus that neck snapp. The only downside is powerhouses usually eat a lot of the ammo. Still I like him better then Wesker. I fucking hate Weskers set up

None of my multiple suggestions are working for you? You can't use the fire grenade to stun him and shoot his plaga? Or use a grenade and do so, then if he's still alive do the same again?
Or just head upstairs to the top floor to avoid him spawning entirely?

Also, a big thank you for your guide. You really helped me out with the Village and Castle and now I have 5 stars on every map with both HUNK and Krauser. Once I get another night off from my studies, Wekser is up next...
I have to say, replaying Water World with Krauser made me realise how difficult that map is. Not so much to survive, but just to get a high enough score. I can never seem to get high combos on the map, as there never seem to be enough foot soldiers for me to kill and I can't get the archers to stop spawning in and taking up enemy placement space. My combos always seem to taper out around 10-17. Took me ages to get 60k with Krauser, as I kept finishing with only about 55 to 57k. I must have fluked it with HUNK on my first try.
P.S. Those Bella Sisters can get fucked. The number of times those ladies surprise killed me from out of nowhere or my "Neckbreaker" wouldn't work and they'd recover from their stun and slice my neck open was ridiculous. Also, I never knew HUNK had a "Kick" attack until replaying the Castle! That thing is insane! It just obliterates the shield Ganados in one hit.
Waterworld isn't that difficult. The spawn lines are generally doorsways and stairs.

Indeed he is easy to use, as he only needs 6 bullets to deal with the bella sisters; and there's a load of strategies shown in the video for the other bosses.
Does switching your game to 30fps on the 60fps versions make the spawning function correctly, or do you have to be playing on a lower fps version?
It's tied to the version, not the framerate unfortunately.

I’m not sure how to do the trick with the 1st salvador. whenever i try there’s always a TNT ganado that will alert the salvador. How do you avoid him?
Copy my movements, The TNT ganado will only throw if you turn the camera in his direction. Take your time with dropping down too, wait for him to climb the ladder if necessary

its so weird to me EVRYONE who mentions Hunk ALWAYS Mention that stupid Fan made Arcanum name "Human Unit Never Killed" That is not even official and it sounds terrible as a nick name when Dr. Death/ Mr Reaper/ or Just Reaper or plainly Hunk suits him and are officially his nick names they give him. I know its 0000000000.1% of the video and i shouldn't be harping on it so hard. But I am sorry its just a pattern i now see and its kinda funny. I will never get why people say this ever.

If we're going to be extremely pedantic then his name isn't even HUNK. It's Hank. Hunk came about due to a translation error.
There are far more stupid fan errors to get annoyed about in my opinion.

For the PS4 version, Salvador doesn't stay idle. And I have a few strats for Leon Killing Sal.
He does stay idle on the PS4 version. I've played it enough times to know.

Porque la version de PS2 es la peor de todo. Pero en general estas tacticas deben funcionar para sacar 60k de todos modos.
