Great video. I really enjoy your narrative voice. I've also often wondered the pay rate for some of these characters. It's really funny to me to imagine Chris Redfield on the computer emailing HR about updating his direct deposit information.
The reason that both MGS3 and RE4 push the narrative that knives are better in close quarters than guns is because they are, by a massive margin. A gun up close is, in many cases, worse than no weapon at all, as it can easily be rendered harmless simply by pushing it aside. And thanks to the weight distribution of guns, the person on the shooty end of a gun will always have leverage when pushing the barrel away. It becomes uncomfortably close to a 50/50 on who gets shot in close quarters. A knife, however, is the literal worst thing you can encounter when within arms reach of another human. It's simply impossible to consistently or reliably avoid a knife because simply touching it is how you get hurt. The only part of a knife that can be safely grabbed is the only part the user is holding. Imagine trying to wrestle someone except if their right hand touches you, you lose. The winning play in a knife fight for both participants is to run away. Just like a knife isn't going to beat a gun 10 meters away, a gun will never beat a knife 1 meter away. There's a reason every well equipped soldier in human history carried a knife; they are the single most effective choice of weaponry for close quarters combat, and are optimized for that role to such a degree that the only winning move in a knife fight is not to play.

27:04 dante ravioli always uses this glitch to beat Salazar's right hand and I'm pretty sure he's the first to discover it. funny watching you rediscovered the same glitch.
I did this on the PS2 just because I loved the gun so much on professional. I didn't give any restriction to items only since I was a simple teen and just wanted to beat the game with my favorite gun and not die 20 times in the elevator of doom. I'm still salty the flash cannon never returned in the remake
Red9 only is basically easy mode, depending on which version of the game you're playing. Original GC version, you'll get a metric fuckload of ammo, but the gun is slightly weaker. Later versions rationed ammo to you after you got a certain amount in your inventory, but bumped up the Red9's damage.
Regular handgun with silencer is my favorite. Stylish and x5 headshot chance. I also think that the blacktail is still the strongest tho.. Not as stylish as the red9 but it has way better dps
Just a footnote but the bugs weren't dying to one shot from the dynamic difficulty system but rather because they were flying. Even an unupgraded tmp shot can instantly kill them if they happen to be flying off the ground.
A restricted weapon run for og RE4 doesn't have a problem with ammo since if you sell the gun and rebuy it, it'll be fully loaded same goes for upgrading it's capacity. So it goes from not having enough ammo drop to having to have enough money to buy the gun again and again for bosses, i learned this from Dante raviolli's shotgun only.
For normal playthroughs, the Blacktail is an excellent choice. But for Hardcore and Professional, the Red9 is a must-have. That extra 2 damage per shot, giving you the same killing power as a base level shotgun, is beautiful. 6:21 Excellent choice of phrase. 👌

I appreciate the love of the Red9 too. Great video!
Holy shit, I literally did this run when I was kid. The Red9 was my favorite weapon so I beat the game 3 times just with the Red9.
people who use the red 9, know its power, people who use the leon basic handgun, know its power too.
Regular handgun with silencer is my favorite. Stylish and x5 headshot chance. I also think that the blacktail is still the strongest tho.. Not as stylish as the red9 but it has way better dps
If beating the game with only the Red9 like this isn't the ultimate tribute one can do for Luis, then idk what is...
Quality video, my dude. Subbed. Intrigued with what you’ll post next.
Dude the quality of this video is amazing.
A full completion of the game let's you start out with any weapons loadout you desire
Krauser's arm can actually go back to normal in mercenaries.
So it goes from not having enough ammo drop to having to have enough money to buy the gun again and again for bosses, i learned this from Dante raviolli's shotgun only.
the mauser is literally my favourite pistol in re4
the exclusive upgrade for it is just SO good
Red9 so fire I jumped for joy when I unlocked it
For normal playthroughs, the Blacktail is an excellent choice. But for Hardcore and Professional, the Red9 is a must-have. That extra 2 damage per shot, giving you the same killing power as a base level shotgun, is beautiful.
6:21 Excellent choice of phrase. 👌
A must have? I get around with blacktail pretty easily.
