Some of these things I also always do with my revos, some were new to me. I may go the extra mile with my next one as well. The tape between the chassis plates does remove the rattle. No other cars are as quiet as my revos :) Thank you for sharing, very much looking forward to learning some more!
Silicone grease has been a 1/12th R/C racers damping medium of choice for 40 years, is cheap and works...a fluff grabber if your track is on the living room carpet though. I've still got a few tubs of Associated silicone diff grease from the 70's :o)
@@CleaveTech Yes, early Associated RC12's used it between plastic discs on a centre post just in front of the motor, Corally used a thick silicone oil in a similar fashion in a rubber boot and a lot of manufacturers used it in simple sliding dampers (a rod in a tube) mounted from the centre of the pod to the sides of the chassis. It's also been used in gearboxes and differentials for decades right up to 1/8 scale I.C. rallycross.
I've got 24 of these things, most of them don't have those washers. I use plafit spur gear with nsr pinion, to quiet them down, if u don't have a rule forbidding that. Mjk tyres.
Pride in craftsmanship and quality control has suffered in all walks of life..... very unfortunate.
You never let us down. Keep up the great work!
Thanks 👍
Thank you for sharing. Enjoying your series on the RevoSlot car. Love the detail that you take with your slot cars.

I didn’t want to use tape because I didn’t think it would be allowed in the rules and it will make the pan section even higher off the ground!
@@CleaveTech I got that from the video, just confirming your suspicions :)
I‘m excited to see your results with the silicone grease!
Can’t wait to see how it runs and if it’s not as noisy I know my Revo runs loud and it’s annoying.
I haven’t actually run it under power yet. I will see what it is like when I get the motor back in and assembled.
Mine too very noisy

Nice to hear that it stands a chance of working. I didn’t know that RC racers used it for the same reason 👍🏻

But James they just sent you an extra grub screw

24 RevoSlots is quite an investment! The club rules do not permit any changes to gears or tyres. I would certainly change them if I could 😁
