Great video! Even if a person has been racing slot cars over the years, there is a lot of tech you can still learn from other racers if they are willing to share it. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

I remember when you very kindly showed me this procedure a few years ago at the BSCRA clubman Nationals at Gaydon. It looks as though you've added a few more processes since then. Great attention to detail. Many thanks once again James.

I always thought that the pimple was there to assist friction/holding in the guide. Never realised that it could stretch the plastic. Thanks for the tips.

It was originally intended to aid friction but if you bend the braid clip as shown in my video you get a good amount of friction and the guide doesn’t get out of shape.

The wire brush is a piece of a 'file card' stuck to a piece of wood, just for anybody wanting to know.

That tool to align and trim braids is neat. I’d like to find one in the USA

Hi Mark. I post them to the USA. If you are interested in the Motor Analyser, then I could just post them both in the same package.

Another great video. Never flatend the pimple will try this.

Thanks Phil. I don't like the way the pimple stretches the guide out of shape and not all braids have pimples. They were probably useful in the days when the guides had holes in them that matched the pimples.

Hello from the states! Having grown up with the Parma brand. No longer having them to purchase parts and pieces from, is a major bummer. Is there any company you would recommend as a decent replacement? eBay was working well for a while. It's gotten almost impossible to get my hands on important parts like, crown gears.

Thanks for watching Greg. The American model for purchasing slot car parts has always been through your local raceway. Your raceway will buy parts from a distributor such as "Eagle Distributing" - www.eagledist.com/
Many raceways are happy to mail order parts to other areas of the states. Try Mid America Hobbies - slotcarstore.net/pages/Mid-America-Products-T1437.html
Failing that, you can always gets parts for slot cars shipped from overseas. Try Pendle Slot Cars - www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/

Thank you for the information! Unfortunately where I live, there are no commercial slot car locations. The tracks that exist, are located at people's houses. We generally "tour" the tracks and have weekly events at each person's home, alternating between the tracks, week by week. Some of them do carry parts. But we're always looking out for options. Unfortunately not everyone's schedule lines up to make certain trips. As tracks are located up to 2 hours away from others. It can be difficult to acquire some parts when only a few options are available. So they don't frown on anyone getting what they need, however they can
