hey, I have the galaxy file from "speedrunning" and inside it is "Spore 3" I put Spore 3 in my AppData (renamed to "Spore") but it's a different galaxy, I can't tell if it's the right one for Any%
@@frogmasto The Spore 3 galaxy has the best Space Stage starting location. I made that galaxy after making this video so it may have a different planet layout but it's the most updated for any% :)
damn, im not kidding - this is by far the video with the highest quality i have seen this year its entertaining, informative and every second was used wisely very nice work, i hope this video pushes you over the 100 subs
I'm not a speedrunner but I like watching speedrun videos and videos explaining how they do it, I find it pretty interesting. I didn't expect this video to actually help me, the 4GB patch is actually useful for me since the game crashing when too much is going on is super annoying, especially when you are trying to ally with an empire and they keep giving you adventure missions and that's where the crashes happen most for me.
The 4 GB actually sounds very useful just for casual gameplay as well. I keep having to reopen Spore because it keeps crashing whenever I'm trying to rapidly enter and destroy all the Grox planets
hi, i know this video is 2 years old by now but i'm just wondering. if i put in the galaxy file, will my main planet get deleted? or can i still play on it?
hey, was wondering - since the "perfect" galaxy file seems to have taken a fair bit of info to get, is there a writeup of the save/galaxy structure anywhere, or alternatively is there some huge info source on behind the scenes game mechanics? have been hugely interested in 'em since picking the game back up
Most of the info about the galaxy files in the Google Drive linked in the video in the Read Me that gives a quick overview on the galaxy's purpose and where to start from in the game :) But I can answer any more questions about them here too!
Yeah changing the frame rate can have big impacts and change the game in unexpected ways. It also requires altering files which is usually against the rules in most speedruns.
I have a question but my english is bad. i try my best In main menu, when i delete my save game the planet is also gone How to respawn an empty planet so i can play new game? thanks hehe
There will always be 6 empty new game planets to choose. When you save a game, a new planet will be available somewhere else in the galaxy. I hope that helps :)
Putting the legs in the early creature editor before creature stage, hold Control on the keyboard to remove a segment of the legs and that gives basically 2 sets of limbs from one! That way we can get arms for cheaper. All the speedruns do this as well if you watch one during this time it'll make sense :)
Ive tried this as he said4 downloaded the file unzipped it got a folder taken out the original Spore folder(moved it to the table) then i put it in and renamed it as the video showcased but for me it doesnt do anything! I get to the black screen of the opening game the normal cursor(non-spore) loads then it closes! Ive benn trying so many times but it still doesnt work! Can anyone tell me why? Im using spore creepy and cute expansion pack and spore galactic adventures expansion pack!
Are you using the DVDs to install Creepy and Cute and Galactic Adventures and is the game fully up to date? The galaxies provided will only work on the latest version patch 1.5. Let me know if it still doesn't work :)
what resoloution do you play spore on? I got a 4k monitor, and using 4k in spore makes the UI tiny, but if I use a smaller res it makes windowed mode tiny lul
@@KinglyValence hard to tell, when scaled from 4K down to 1080 it loses some quality (not just because it’s a lower res, just because it scales down from 4K weird), but I doubt it looks much better on it though, I realised you can just use display capture instead of window
@@frogmasto Ah, good to know, thanks! Oh yeah display capture should work. I remember back in the day OBS didn't recommend display capture, I think I remember they said it used more resources and was like a last resort, though this may have changed since and computer hardware is likely better too.
@@frogmasto If you save the game you'll need to reset the galaxy to start the planet over. But if you run all the way through and quit without saving them yeah just deleting the creatures will make it clean again.
@@KinglyValence I used the steam version. Then I connected it with origin so I can sign in. But then some things went wrong and I had to deinstall everything. Now I play spore without steam connection.
I have a planet with a black hole I think close to the home planet the leads right to the grox, I would like to know if that’s in anyway useful I bring this up again if no one sees this
I'm no speedrunner, but even in a normal non-speedrun game it's super useful if you want to jump from one place to the other. But the disadvantage in a speedrun would be that you need a wormhole key, so that pretty much makes the black hole useless for a speedrun.
@@bean5157 I completely forgot about that, I just remembered because it was my first space stage that I was doing for a while, it was super useful to get to the grox

hi, i know this video is 2 years old by now but i'm just wondering. if i put in the galaxy file, will my main planet get deleted? or can i still play on it?
All the planet saves are tied to their galaxy file as well. So if you replace the galaxy file all the planet saves are reset.

is increasing the 30 fps cap against the rules? by using property frameLimitMS 44 int, and intProp frameLimitMS 11?
Yeah changing the frame rate can have big impacts and change the game in unexpected ways. It also requires altering files which is usually against the rules in most speedruns.
