I was on the side of the road for 4 and a half hours! I was waiting on AAA but they never came. By hour 3, I was fed up with it and just decided to change the tire myself. I used your video and it helped so much. Thank you!!
So sorry you got a flat and no showed up! I'm so glad my video helped you! 😊
That’s where I’m at right now with my insurance. Hour 2 and still waiting. Can’t take the cap that hides my lug nuts on my wheels since I don’t have an Allen wrench handy or else I’d change it myself
Thank you sir. You’ve just made a 30 year old man child who’s never changed a tire himself happy
You sir, saved me a lot of headache and hassle when I got a flat about an hour ago. Quick, easy, good camera shots. I was worried about the exact spot of the jack beforehand. You explained it perfectly. THANK YOU! You are doing the Lord’s work!
You're welcome! I'm glad you were able to get your tire changed safely and got back on the road :)
Really good video!! you couldnt explained it even better!! Really good !!! Now i can change mine with no doubt at all!! Thank you again!!! Mine, before going to work, turned on the truck, when i hit Drive mode, i got 0 PSI!! so i had to back it up on my drive way and hod to take my wife's car for the night shift.
Glad I could help! :)
Was waiting for roadside assistance. But installed the spare long before they would get here and got home to the family Thank for the video.
You're welcome and I'm glad the video helped and you got your tire changed safely!
I was on my way to drop off my kid's at school. One of my tires blew up, luckily I was not too far from their school. I drove super slow with my hazard lights on. Dropped them off and I pulled over called for road side assistance. They said it would take 45- to an hour and a half. I decided to look on you tube. Found your video and I have to say, I was so helpful and easy to follow. Changed the spair in roughly 30 min. Thanks alot
You're very welcome!
I was driving one of our coaches to the airport and his tire exploded in the fast lane right outside of Houston and I changed my first ever tire. BIG THANKS MAN!
I am so glad my video helped you!! And you are very welcome! :)
Good job on this. I never would have figured out how to even get the tools out from underneath the seat.
Thanks! I'm glad you found it helpful 😊
Thanks for the video. It's silly having to watch a video to change a tire but this is very different than my old car.
Oh don't feel silly about it. It's really not very self explanatory if you've never done it before. I'm glad it helped you out :)
My problem wasnt using the jack..it was finding it
Thank you so much!! Have a blessed day.
Thanks. Flatted at Charles Summit and with this video got it done with no problem
AWESOME! Thank you so much for sharing this video. As the proud new owner of a Chevy 2500HD, I had not clue about how to change the tire. You answered all my questions! Thank you very much!!
Congrats on your new truck!! I might be a little biased but I think you're going to like it :)
Hey thank you it's a new truck and it was a great orientation very well put together!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you! I’m a handy guy but have never had to change a tire on a truck before. It was dark out and I was in the side of the road. This video allowed me to get it changed out in 10 min (I did fast forward through some parts). Thank you for putting this together!!!
You're very welcome! I'm glad it helped you out when you were in a tough spot :)
Just had my first flat on my 2020 Silverado, this video was very helpful and detailed
Glad it helped!
I’m on the side of the snowy road doing this 🫡❄️😬😩
You got this! Crank that heat up when you're done.
Hi Jim, just changed my flat on my 2019 Silverado 1500. Thank you for this video.
You're welcome 😊
Just got off the road having changed my wheel. Thank you
An excellent video. I just changed a back tire a few hours ago and my key to unlock the spare tire is inside my key fob due to my push button start. Looked for a few minutes in my glove compartments for a key until the “walla” moment hit me of where the key was hidden. 🙄
Thank you for this video. Very well explained and helped me get back on the road in no time!
You are very welcome! I'm so glad it helped you :)
I was just imagining someone chocking the tire they were going to change! Haha. Good video. I pick my 2022 silverado custom up on Tuesday. Just using youtube to get familiar with it!
Good deal! I have a few videos you might want to watch since you're getting a Custom. Look for my 25,000 mile update video. It has a bunch of useful info and a bunch of links to some other videos I've made on the truck.
Thank you for the great video. What is the torque value for the lug nuts in case I decide to use torque wrench.
When loosen the bolts, make it in diagonal way
Thank you great video help a lot God bless you.
You are very welcome!
TH-cam really does have good father figures on here thanks 😂
Life saver. Thanks!
You're welcome! I'm glad it helped you :)
You forgot to mention that jack is at the max height with stock tires. If your tires are even one size up you are stuck waiting for roadside.
Not that I would ever recommend doing anything unsafe but if *I* had oversize tires I might also carry a foot long piece of 2x6 to put under the jack. :)
I’m disappointed in GM on the jack they provide
Hopefully this will help someone if they ever need it
Well it's been up for a couple hours and it already has a few views from people searching so it might already have :)
Great help, I recommend this channel, thank you for your advice!!
Thanks! wanted to see how the jack worked incase I ever needed to use it
You're welcome and for the record you aren't the only one. Removing the jack is the most watched part of the video :)
Gracias por el video, perfectamente explicado. Saludos 🫡
Very helpful.
Thanks!
Thanks for the help
You're very welcome!
Life saver!
Glad it was helpful :)
Already removed the nuts of the tire, is lifted but for a reason the tire is stuck , is there another thing that i should remove?
2021 gmc 1500

You're welcome! Glad it helped you out :)
Great video, Jim!
Thanks Molly!
Thanks
I drive a 2020 HD 3/4 ton Chevy longbox. I had a flat tire in Montana snowing 3" an hour. I was on the interstate and had a front flat tire blow out. I found the closest place to get to the edge of the interstate I could not get the Jack under the front end due to the front end being to low. By then there was 8" of snow and still snowing highway patrol stopped and he had a ton and a 1/2 4 Jack between that Jack and my 3 t bottle Jack I finally got it up off so I could get the tire and put the spare on. The whole time it snowed a total of foot I was laying on the ground what heavy snow took me 2 1/2. I had no cell service. I wish I could send a video on this comment it wasn't fun but I got it. I forgot to mention it was on a 10% downhill grade on snow and ice.
Yikes that sounds like a nightmare. Glad it worked out though!
What size is your tire?
Thank you I appreciate you and your time.
You are so welcome :)
Right on Jim! 😁👍
Thanks ☺️
Great video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
THANKS YOU FOR SHARING This video
Thanks for watching!
Show a video with a with a front flat and then show where the best place to Jack it up.
I actually do show that in this video starting at 5 minutes. Here is a link that should take you right to the part about the front tire th-cam.com/video/osq4jWcwlng/w-d-xo.html
I had a 2021 Chevy Silverado. The stupid tire won’t come down when I’m cranking it tried kicking on the tire. Something is messed up.
This might sound obvious but make sure you used all the pieces when you assembled the crank handle. Then turn it counter clockwise slowly while pushing in so the you know it's engaging the actual crank. Those are the only two things I got for you otherwise yeah sounds like something is messed up in the mechanism :(
What volt of Impact do you use?
18 volt Milwaukee M18 but many times when doing wheels I break the lugs free with a small breaker bar and then put the final tighten with the same breaker. Not that I don't trust the impact, it's just habit lol.
I always wondered if changing a tire on a pick up truck was different versus a car since it sits higher no what if you had a 3 ton floor jack the one with the wheels? where you place it underneath the truck?
On the rear it would be the same place but on the front I would go under the control arm. 🙂
@@MidnightRoadGarage thank you for responding back I thought maybe like the frame or something or in the rear or front I thought they said using floor jack with wheels to raise it up lifting the pumpkin, So I guess when you say control arm I guess there's a spot underneath there not directly under the control arm right?
@@whatisthisevenfor26 so if you lift it in the rear from under the pumpkin it will lift both rear wheels which you wouldn't want to do on the side of the road. I'll take a look when I get home later and see if I can give you a better description for the front.
Pretty good video. I would have never guesses it had a lock and key to let down the spare. I didn’t read that in the manual… 🤔
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The lock might be an option that my truck came with it.
@@MidnightRoadGarage I checked after watching the video and sure thing I have it!
Mine has a lock but im not sure where the key is?
Keyless ignition so no keys.
@@irok1d for keyless ignition there is actually a key hidden in your key fob. Should be a button on the side to release it.
@@MidnightRoadGarage
Ok wasn't sure that one would work.
Thanks
You left off the Safty cable
I have a 2 door no back seat where is my at
Behind the seats. It's still going to look and work the same as the 4 door. :)
Maybe a caveat that the good people need to familiarize themselves with their specific vehicle procedure. Could see someone mistaking that mount with a spring pocket or something. If they do not know what is what ?
I agree but sometimes you think you know something but then find out in practice that there's something you overlooked or the written directions are just unclear or the owners manual is missing...and that's where TH-cam comes in :)
@@MidnightRoadGarage- Great of you to look to help.
@@TheCanadianBubba I just like making videos lol. When I changed the tire on the side of the road I was putting stuff away when I thought hmm I should have made a video instead of just taking a couple pics lol. I really do hope it's helpful to someone though :)
Don't have a key
Great tips. Thank you.
You're welcome!
