      It is certainly something I am looking at for the future. I just don't want to have people unrealistically contacting sellers. Quick tip though. If you log out you can see ALL listings no matter where they are, you just don't have the search capability.

    Great idea, i often wondered how i would sell my store later down the road. Would be concerned thou about buyers not completing the transaction after paying the fees! Integration of a payment method on the platform would provide potential sellers with confidence 😀. Registered looking forward to seeing any listings.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I understand peoples concern about paying a fee before receiving payment from the buyer but me handling the buyers payment isn't really practical and is fraught with other rules and regulations. Once an offer is accepted you still have contact with the buyer via our messaging function to discuss the transaction and hopefully get some confidence they will follow through before paying the fee. You could potentially ask them for a deposit to cover the fee at least but this is at the discretion of the buyer/seller.

    Fantastic idea!
    Just a minor thing, could you create an option with just the postal code instead of full adress?
    That should give a good enough idea of where the store is & stop potential thiefs from scouting out their next "job".
    Also, maybe add the website link in the description of the video? :p
    Great job & I believe this will make a great addition to the space.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’ve added the website link 😂 as for address, nobody can see your address data until you agree a sale and then it’s only exposed to the buyer and seller, no one else. This should help with trust in both parties.

    Have you though about expanding to selling collections in the future on here and not just stores that would be a great idea

    • @BrickArena

      It's already there in effect. You can sell sets, parts, minifigures or used bulk so depends a little on how you want to sell. However, with the sets, parts and minifigures we expect an inventory file so that people can assess what you have. You could list under just used bulk and add detail as to what is included.

    I have a question. What happens if you accept the offer, pay the fee, but then the buyer doesn't pay or complete the deal? You're stuck paying a fee for a sale that fell through? That could be a problem. Is there a solution in place for that? This is usually why payments are processed on a platform, the fees are charged at the time the buyer pays. It was just something I was curious about.
    The website is a great idea though. I look forward to signing up as a US buyer. Thanks for all of your hard work and informative videos.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your comment, I appreciate your concern. In genuine circumstances we can refund the fee, we just need to be mindful that this isn’t abused. Ideally, I’d do as you suggest but me handling the payment and then releasing/passing it on has other significant challenges and regulations and costs. Let’s see how this goes, this is the first step after all and there is potential for changes in the future as needed.

      We'll look into how to allow cross border for some countries. It's not an issue technically but don't want people mistakenly messaging people in other countries about a store they are never going to buy realistically.

    What happens if the buyer backs out after the seller has accepted their offer and paid the site fee? Would that be refunded in full to the seller?

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes we can look to refund in genuine circumstances. The problem is people Claiming the buyer has pulled out as a way of not paying a fee. Plus, they would lose out as PayPal keep the transaction fee.

    • @thebrickbin
      @thebrickbin หลายเดือนก่อน

      How would you be able to tell if it’s genuine or not though? If someone sold a store/items for £20,000 (similar to one of your examples) the seller has to front £400 for what seems like just a chance at selling their store?
      This is why eBay and other marketplaces bill at the end of the month in case there are issues/cancelations/refunds?
      Genuinely not trying to be negative as I really think this is a great idea! But it seems like quite a big risk for the seller if there’s no guarantee of a fee refund?
      Could you have a deposit option for the buyer to put down which would be deducted from the total cost of the listing? That way the fee would still be covered if the buyer decides to back out with no repercussions on the seller/marketplace? (although I’m not 100% sure on the legalities behind this)

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very difficult to tell if genuine or not hence the hesitation with cart blanche refunds on the fee. In the UK its not so bad but its a real problem in other territories where we're less likely to know the buyer/seller.
      Me taking the payment and handling it woudl make this a marketplace which has too many regulations around it.
      Keep in mind that when the offer is accepted there can still be a discussion within the messaging environment before any fee is paid. It could even be that the seller asks the buyer for a part deposit (though how woudl you feel about paying a deposit without seeing anything in the flesh).
      Honestly I think too much is being made about the concern of either the buyer falling through or me not refunding. I think the vast majority of sales will be in the couple of thousands or less where the fee is probably more like £50-£100. How many £20K stores do you see selling?

    • @jimmyporter8941
      @jimmyporter8941 หลายเดือนก่อน

      DId you consider charging the seller half the fee and the buyer the other half? That way they're both financially incentivised to complete and not drop out.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I considered lots of options but how many sales platforms are there out there where the buyer pays part of a fee - None that I'm aware of. Part of the acceptance of the offer could be asking the buyer to pay a small deposit to cover the fee in case they pull out. But that would be unto the discretion of the two parties. I honestly think this issue is being overthought. In reality, I think most buyers that commit to a purchase will not pull out after agreeing and where that does happen I think we can have a discussion and sort it out. Time will tell.
