Great topic! 1)KoK 16 yr 2) parkers 10 yr rye 3) Russell's store pick I found and bought 2. It was distilled on my dad's birthday, dumped on my mom's birthday and Bottled on my birthday. On top of that it is a great pour
I'm coming down this week for Bourbon on the Banks. I want to try and squeeze in a visit to Wilderness Trail. Love the EN shirt, just stopped in there and picked up a few Nightstalker 3's. I'll be popping one in KY to share with friends.
The one bottle I wish I had a backup for would be Murray Hill club special release batch 4! I didn't know what I got until I opened it and it's amazing.
TKO's are unreal, easily my favorite rye this year. I have 5 different TKOs and they're all fantastic. Haven't had Ryan's pick, but I'm sure it is top notch.
The bottles that I absolutely need a back up of would have to be: King of Kentucky 16yr WFE 11yr BourbonBonanza 24' ☢️ JD Coy Hill SiB ☢️ Rare Character EC E-KB-14 Michters Barrel Strenght Rye 22' Thomas H Handy 23' I have a back up of the THH 23' already but being my favorite modern Rye I absolutely need another one. Thankfully I have backups of a lot of great thing's because my Pops and I go to releases together but technically those are his bottles so it doesnt help a whole lot with not being afraid to open them.
The backup bottles I wish I had are Barrel Bourbon Batch 35 (there’s probably a chance there’s still some out there), Stagg batch 18 131 proof, Wild Turkey Distiller’s Reserve 12 year, and a Ben Holladay One Barrel store pick.
I have a Russells Reserve Single Barrel store pick from a store here in Colorado 9 years 110 proof. Camp Nelson F floor 4 its so good paid $84 for it. I need a backup 😂🥃
In OKC, we have had at least one each of a WT high rye and wheater pick drop in the last few months. And while this doesn’t count, I got a distiller’s select wheater blend (by Shane) at the distillery in July…I think is is a blend like the one Macauley did for It’s Bourbon Night though.
Those wilderness trail, older pot still bottlings are fantastic and fly way under the radar. Very curious about the barrel type listed on the side labeling.
Yes sir. I’m guessing it’s a Canton barrel. I have a couple distilled in 2015 that are Canton barrels and are great. One of them is just like Zach’s, a 5.5yr from same rickhouse but 1st floor instead of 3rd.
@@bryanmacke now you're really talking. That's exactly what I was curious about. Have a few 120pf , 5+yr high rye bourbon, canton barrel bottlings set aside. Cheers
@@adamboothby1725 awesome! I was really figuring WTrail would be releasing like 8yr picks by now. I want to blame it on Campari but I didn't see age statements really going up much before the acquisition either. You got any intel?
Certain barrel picks are always on the list. If you find a pick you like and can buy a few more, do it! Otherwise Russell's 15 is on my short list for a backup.
I have everything from 1792 but the sweet wheat and high rye. Most reviews I’ve seen say it’s mediocre to trash, so I’ve never purchased the sweet wheat. What do you like about it?
You mentioned storing the Heaven Hill 27 for your kid's wedding which will be a great experience for you and them! What's the best/safest way to store bourbon for a long period of time?
Im driving so i missed Dave's email that zach gave. Hey dave i got a remus v for you. Perhaps you could get zachary to borrow you one of his extra m10's ....

Bottles that I wish I had more of:
1. Jack Daniels Coy Hill (the 2021 special release)
2. 2022 LE Jack Daniels Twice Barrelled American Single Malt
Would love to have another Old Overholt 10 yr. Also, another Knob Creek 18 yr batch 2. Great video/choices.
I wish I had any of those bottles the first time.😔
Old Forester 1924 for me for sure.
I just bought a RRV backup on secondary. It’s a special bottle.
I’m so lucky. Managed to get 3 M10 - 2;24 1;23
4x RR15
2x Bardstown disco 12
Need a backup of 1924 so good

1. New riff 8 year

3. John j Bowman single barrel
4. EW 23 year
I've got 3 bottles I'd love to replace.
1) 2014 WLW

those barrell batches 33-35 were all good

Rumor has it Heaven Hill is putting out a toasted barrel strength EC later this year at some point
Yep and I think maybe even picks of it as well!
Certain barrel picks are always on the list. If you find a pick you like and can buy a few more, do it! Otherwise Russell's 15 is on my short list for a backup.
Remus learned they can bottle the attempt at 5, call it Gatsby, and sell it for double.
My backup wish list:
VVS 13
Russel’s 15
King 16
Peerless Toasted
So confidently saying “got it right” with pours in the barn 😂😂
You know how it goes 😆 🤣 😂
I have 2 Remus V and a 2020 & 2022 (I think) Michter's 10 Year.
That Rye from Ryan was incredible
Amazing!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I’d say most of the stuff I like I have backups. I would like to get another Sweet Wheat
I have everything from 1792 but the sweet wheat and high rye. Most reviews I’ve seen say it’s mediocre to trash, so I’ve never purchased the sweet wheat. What do you like about it?
@@Manbearpig80-re8vi For the reason what it’s called It’s a sweet bourbon I find that sweet wheat and 12 yr are similar
I am sure if you trade some of you back up M10B you could get back ups for everyone of these.
They are doing ECBP toasted now as private picks the first label is 9yrs
I have a purple top that is 27 yr at 132 proof, I wonder if it’s that old heavenhill juice just at cask strength?
Honestly it is probably that or Jim Beam.
You mentioned storing the Heaven Hill 27 for your kid's wedding which will be a great experience for you and them! What's the best/safest way to store bourbon for a long period of time?
Keeping them in room tempt/basement not near any window. Also keep standing up so no damage to the cork.
@@bourbonkingdom Thank you!!
I just went to Japan and wish I got a case of wt12 and ew12
ASB CS batch one is forever in my top 3 greatest things I've been able to taste. Best 50 dollar pour I had
i would hate that wilderness trail and put it into a couple 50mL airplane style bottles for longer life
It is getting killed this weekend!
Hey Zach and Dave, what's yalls favorite LE of all time!?!? No samples, owned bottle specifically...
My favorite is heaven hill 17 year David
2021 Coy Hill
2024 Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye
Dickel messed up by stopping production of the Rye!
I have a Remus 5. How do I get in touch?
