    Hi! I'm a Year 11 student studying bio, spesh, methods, physics, and english. I've recently found your videos, and the tips are interesting, but they seem quite different from the usual ones I've used like Anki, Obsidian notes, and practice SACs/chapter reviews. I'm kind of worried that none of my study methods are effective, so I'm a bit overwhelmed with options.
    If I try completely changing my approach, what do you think are the most important study techniques to focus on (if you could pick 3-5)?

    • @ArcherNewton
      @ArcherNewton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Xavier! By you looking at different options, you're already taking a huge step in the right direction and is going to be better than not.
      I don't recommend completely changing your approach in one go. You'll be swapping from habits you've become comfortable with fora long time to new techniques you've never used before. It's good to make the swap gradually and spend more time learning about the advantages and disadvantages of each method i explain on this channel so that you can begin to understand when to implement each technique and when not to!

    I am new in caji koi academy, in this channel I am trying to figuring out how to learn but I don't have clarity. Now I am going to tell what I have learn just please give me feedback.
    System is preview, view and review.
    -At first before watching a lecture I familiar myself with the topic.
    -Then in class just take notes of two things 1st is when the teacher tell it will going to on the test 2nd things to memorize not understand.
    -After that solve practice problem and use spaced retrieval (for reviewing i use active recall and spaced repetation I think this two is called spaced retrieval)

    How tf do you do it for anatomy?

  • @SwitcherRu
    @SwitcherRu 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    This way of cramming works well for isolated topics, however I wonder about it's long term effectiveness for cohesive topics like the interlinking between human physiology and pathology and subsequent clinical management of diseases. I doubt that I could ever pass a final exam testing anything and everything by cramming.

    • @graxzinomafpo6796
      @graxzinomafpo6796 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      and this could never work for mathematics or physics

    • @SwitcherRu
      @SwitcherRu 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Honestly not sure how it would work with mathematics or physics when it comes to the application. Both these fields require good fundamentals + the ability to internalize knowledge so that it can used freely

    • @ArcherNewton
      @ArcherNewton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does and is even more powerful for Physics. I used this to score a perfect score in Physics in my state - here's my comment on another comment.
      It's the same principles in that you need to:
      1. find as many connections as possible with where certain approaches can be applied in multiple scenarios. For example, using quadratic formula, null factor law, in contexts of polynomials and calculus, as well as algebraic manipulation
      2. Start with practising in layers of increasing detail and syntopically look at different examples of how concepts are used in similar mathematical problems so you can find the nuance in between these similar problems

    • @ArcherNewton
      @ArcherNewton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Please see the comment I've just posted here too! In maths, you need to have extremely deep and nuanced understanding of all the applications that the mathematical concepts you've learnt can be applied (as per the learning objectives), since the most complicated questions won't test you outside of those LOs, they'll just require 'unexpected' and non-typical applications of some of the concepts you've already learnt.

    • @ArcherNewton
      @ArcherNewton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did this throughout all of the physiology, pathology and clinical learning. I also work with registrars, doctors in training and medical students who apply this across all of their medical learning.
      This video isn't about recommending cramming but instead saying that there are far more efficient ways to increase the chances of finding relationships between what you're learning and thereby increase your learning speed

    Mr. Archer I noticed that Dr Sung is possibly having some difficulty with those with ADHD. meaning I’m not sure that he has an effective strategy for those with ADHD or those that have used his recommendations are making progress; like myself who hasn’t moved the needle much. And from the comments, I think that there might be an opportunity to utilize someone like myself who has been diagnosed with ADHD and has available time and willing to give some of that time for free in return for some coaching. I was thinking something like if I was to get coaching and have one of the coaches work with me directly and then figure out what works best overtime for those with ADHD, I would be the lab rat
    Let me know !

    As cool as this might seem, isn't it a bit misguiding to direct people towards cramming a whole class in a day, where you will be forgetting pretty much all of it afterwards? This will create lots of problems in the future for people.

    TH-cam study videos that have great topic and aims to inform about important issues but instead makes me dizzy and anxious cause of:
    1) guy/gal ANNOUNCING the intro in a high pitch American voice✅
    2)Opening scene is ALWAYS them sitting in their table spinning pen in between fingers ✅
    3) Unnecessary back story/ life story wasting half of my time honestly such a turn off makes me demotivated to watch further✅
    I don’t understand why can’t they just SIT and JUST tell me how to do it… how to study or cram blah blah rather than doing extra shit in their videos. This video is better than a lot of those on TH-cam but honestly everyone is just dramatic. Whichever videos I come across I feel that it might help me but as I click it’s the same shit over and over again. Am I the only one struggling with this …….
