After 1.5 years of running with an added rear sway bar, my Hammer Rey is one of my favorite rc's and that is out of over 60 rc trail/crawler/U4/bashers. Just a blast to drive!
My dad just got one. Super nice rig that is meant to be driven scale in loose rocky terrain. Sorta like the UDR that is meant to be driven scale and not bashed around .
Hey Jaytee! I'd love to see a Jaytee collection video! You have so many cool trucks from cheap to expensive and I think it would be awesome to see your collection!
Good job demonstrating the Hammer Rey. I always enjoy watching your speed runs. I hardly ever do them because I always crash. I think the best part of your videos is your commentary. It's always a pleasure to listen to you as you cover the details of your RC's. 🏁
$299 is a steal. At the original $499 you might as well drop a little extra and get a LMT (Digger) because there's way more fun to be had with that platform! I'm guessing these weren't selling well at that price and they're blowing them out now.
I just picked one up from Horizon for the $299….love it for the price. $317 with tax/shipping. Then I was watching YT channels on this rig and ran across Amain selling them for $299 and a coupon….went and checked it out. $281 with tax/shipping…….so I bought another! 😅
for $300 i bought two!! One will be a shelf queen and i'm running the other. After a few runs decided i'm going to do some thicker shock oil and try some 500k diff fluid to make it a bit more capable. cheers
I'm pretty sure this is advertised as just 3s capable out of the box. I was confused about that also. That's what the description says though. That body will fit a SCX6 chassis. Saw a video the other day where someone had that setup. It's a freaking huge 10th scale. I thought about getting the green one just for that reason alone.
It is meant to be only 3s. The ESC is capable of 4s and is where everyone is getting confused. The motor (3150kv) is only meant to take up to 3s and is the same motor found in many of Losi's medium sized RCs like the DB Pro, and the LMT vehicles. The motor found in the Losi Lasernut is a 4s motor and an easy swap though it is only 1900kv. The issue with running the 3150kv motor on 4s is that it will overheat and the magnets will seperate from the rotor inside the motor and can also unsolder the windings from the stator. I wont be running mine on 4s, but what other people want to do with theirs is their responsibility.
@@SebastianLong the LMT mega trucks are 2800k 4s capable. I've only ran mine on 4s since I bought it last Father's day sale. The electronics are about the only thing that hasn't broken. It isn't a very powerful combo in that truck though. It needs to be 6s powered but it's just to fragile stock just honestly not good enough of a platform to sink all the money it'd cost to beef it up appropriately. I love it but it's not good at anything other than being really cool.
@@boduke9428 I have the LMT Gravedigger. Only things i ever broke are the front axle from smacking a sharp rock when i was hillclimbing it and the small sway bar "wire" that goes from the sway bar main shaft to the link on the axle. I dont really use it all that much but use it far more often than i run any of my Arrma RCs.
Mine just came this morning and I've been saving my unboxing till tonight! Hey Jaytee should i grab the machete 4s for $299? Have you had good luck with yours? Durable?
I own a lot of RC'S and can appreciate all styles. Its a beautiful looking rig but im afraid i will be quickly disappointed after having it. $300 is what's making me change my mind as a yard cruiser/crawler.
@@JayTeeRC Luckily I got it @ $299 also but thought it was a clerical error on eBay Horizon Hobby store since it was there and gone after I bought it. Put the Treal sway bar kit on, put a hub extension kit on the rear wheels and an all metal horn on the steering servo instead of the original plastic one with a metal gear adapter that had way too much play. One of my favorites now. I have the Super Rock Rey and thought it was discontinued for good also but they issued a V2 so maybe…..
Great scale looks, descent driver for a ground-pounder and scale-ish jumps. Certainly not a heavy basher. Current sale price makes it a good value...maybe. Could be hard to get parts in the future though...certainly parts unique to it that aren't used in the Baja Rey or Tenacity vehicles.

Got this recently and the Lasernut u4 since that’s on sale now too.

Been eyeing on getting this for my 21st bday. Looks nice especially for the dropped price
A widening kit would be perfect for that. Looks like it would flip super easy bone stock to narrow
Jay, thx for your time and info on the sale..great driving..
Any time!
Thanks bro nice video review
cool new look, RC with great adventure, always good videos bro👍👍😃

you should do a nitro video one day
did u not hear what I stated in video 😀😃😄
@JayTeeRC you don't do nitro,?
The Losi 8ight Nitro Buggy is at the same price can’t really decide 😅
ikr...got both...
@@JayTeeRCthe Nitro went out of stock just got the Hammer Rey😅
I think the arrma gorgon would be better value and performance even though it is 2wd 😊

600 USD in France😢
Basher TH-cam reviewer channels ruined the launch of this truck 😊
