Super informative man thanks. I have the SRR which is my favourite big RC and have just bought the SBR1. I think I’ll put the SRR wheels on the SBR1. And limiting straps too.
I agree that the chassis should never slap the ground landing a jump. That comes from SCT and buggy racing, where manufacturers basically cheat by having the chassis take the impact instead of the controll arms, wheels, and coilovers. I think that all RC manufacturers should instead design the suspension stronger to take the hit, and at the same time prevent the sudden brake that occurs when you land from a jump slowing you down. I always use those extra soft rubber pieces you get with ear buds as cushions in all my coilover shocks, usually that is enough to keep the RC car from bottoming out. I do this by unscrewing the shaft from the base balljoint of the coilover shocks, and slide the ear bud piece over the shock shafts so it takes the impact of the shock body. It also helps from dirt getting pushed in between the shock shaft and rubber seal.
Really nice comparison video! Interesting take on the suspension. As long as the shocks can take all the force it's ok that the chassis won't hit the ground. These trucks have very large shocks. My Losi 3xle also doesn't hit the ground and the shocks have been fine 👍
Great Lakes RC definitely agree 👍🏻 the Losi 3xle is a awesome truck I have one too it’s fast and durable I just wish they made more aftermarket parts for it

When I get my SRR I will most likely just go with a bunch of stuff from Vitavon, so far I really like what I have on my UDR, not sure if you've seen my channel or not but click my name and you can see.

Todd Ullmann I just did a video on the tire swap the wheels are close to the knuckles in the front but a little sanding and there was enough clearance. I’m working on a chassis swap video now

The new losis are awesome! I did a video showing the parts interchange the sbr cage bolts right up to the srr chassis but the control arms in the front are different
😁👍Nice little track you made...did you get dizzy running in all those circles! Some Rc's have chassis that don't hit the ground so when you jump the chassis wont hit and snag the ground and make the RC slow down.
Oregon Dunes RC I agree with you on that the rock Rey actually seems to be even louder running on 8s. I think it has a lot to do with the gears having a large pitch and being straight cut as opposed to spiral cut which are much quieter
@@clodbusted1776 ya takes getting used too lol. Another thing is I took my sbr out to Dumont Dunes and when I went to change my pinion found sand all inside tranny. Not good and couldn't really pinpoint from where with it out. Something to watch for I guess kinda like the bearing lol
Vincent Smet I would probably get the xmaxx the super rock Rey and Baja Rey are very similar and the things that are better about the rock Rey can be added to the sbr . The xmaxx is a awesome truck that is very versatile and does everything well
I would say the Super Rock Rey handles 8s far better than the 8s X-Maxx. The X-Maxx tend to destroy diffs a lot. Now I'm not saying the rock Rey is better, just handles the power better (aside from massive torque steer) but the X-Maxx is a better basher. My advice is if you get the X-Maxx, run it on 6s to keep the components in tact, if you are looking for more speed than jumping, get the Rock Rey. Both are great RCs, but both have their own niches. One thing to remember is to at very minimum, put in mod 1.5 gears or you will strip them quickly in the X-Maxx. The SRR is already mostly 100% metal.
Mr Price I did a video of the swap and gave someone in the comment section all of the part numbers and prices it was the best mod for the sbr. Good luck with your truck 👍🏻
You forgot to mention "or either I glossed over the fact" that the reason the super rock rey doesnt handle like the Baja rey is due to how much higher it sits.And the reason people are saying it's good for the chassis to hit the ground is because on the rock rey the tops of those shock towers like to snap,if the chassis would touch the ground,even a little bit,that wouldnt be such a huge issue.

No, they can't. I've got the UDR Rigid Edition and the Super Rock Rey Baja Designs edition. The components on the super rock are a lot bigger. As to be expected. The super rock Rey is a 1/6 scale and the UDR is 1/7. The super rock Rey is longer than the X-Maxx, a little bit more narrow with the tires on than the X-Maxx and the X-Maxx is taller. The Super Rock Rey isn't really in the same category as the UDR as they are different scale. I would imagine the same can be said about the super Baja Rey shocks not working. The suspension on the UDR has a lot more travel per scale than the super rock or Baja Rey.

It would be nice if the battery compartment on Baja Rey could accommodate batteries of AVERAGE size not small-sized batteries that are short. Example gens ace 6s 60c 5000 and 4s 45c 5000 are to long to fit, but have room to spare in my UDR? Nothing like buying batteries for something and they don't fit at all length wise but plenty of space to put those two 4s in vertically. And there's empty space in front of the battery compartment on the chassis!
Zigod Gaming that’s actually a 1972 Monte Carlo it’s too rusted to fix, my friend started to restore it and just let it sit behind my shop. I’m more into mopars but I come across chevelles a lot if I find a good deal on one I’ll let you know

John Childress the udr is overpriced I think I just bought one and it broke the rear trailing arm on the first run and it didn’t work right out of the box I had to fix bad wire connections
Great machines, however in NO way killed the UDR! UDR, great scale, doughnuts galore,plenty of power out of the box,I've really driven it hard and not much broke thus far after one year, just the right size and weight for transport in car and in case I have to hand carry it... 😆 negatives... The small battery compartment!! Other than that both Losi and "TraxxASS" are ok with me.

Exocaged RC the front shafts are plastic only time will tell how they hold up. I do like the udrs too they definitely look better

Hammer Home so far it’s hard to tell run times because it broke before the batteries ran out but I did run it for about 20 minutes before it broke

I'm in the air about getting a xmax or a super Rock Rey. I already have a super Baja Rey. Any advice you can give me?

Jamie Quidd you’re correct the sbr sits lower and has stiffer suspension that’s why it rolls a lot less
One thing I don't understand is when the 2 Autos are so similar why then does the SBR handle better than the SRR?
It has a much lower center of gravity and the tires don't have as much traction so it seems to slide where the srr tires grab and flip over

Great vid. After watching, i just want a rock rey with sway bar and angled fron shocks. I was gonna get a baja rey on black friday but now idk
