Right, but that's a bad answer because Tom didn't respect it. As always, it's the finalist's job to convince the juror to vote for them. Rob failed at this task.
Some of them are utterly embarrassing, the level of bitter hatefulness over a game, namely Tom, Alicia and Lex mainly. It's a GAME, play it in good spirits and leave the shit at the door. Australian survivor is great for that, nobody is ever bitter really. If someone gets you before you get them, they say well done, well played and wish them luck. The Americans should take note, they have had a fair few bitter juries.

Survivor is a game where you're constantly looking out for yourself in an environment of hunger, distrust, and little to no actual support, where you question every single word and every single thing people say or do. A couple of Survivors have come out saying that they have PTSD post-game, and WaW Ponderosa has a couple nice videos about Survivors talking about how difficult it is to adapt to life back outside the game when your first instinct is to suspect what even your loved ones are telling you. Jerri was booed off the stage in a reunion where she made a very valid point - "This entertainment is coming at a price. What it has cost us is our friendships, our feelings, our pain, our suffering." You are seeing real friendships, real relationships ruined in a game that you will most likely never play, and all you can say is "it's a game, grow up and get over it"? Also consider that this was the very first season where it wasn't just strangers playing the game for the first time. This was the very first season where people with preexisting relationships, friends even, played the game against each other. Where people, like Rob, leveraged friendships from OUTSIDE the game, to change things on the inside. NOBODY knew what to expect - but they certainly didn't expect THIS.
Like Jeff has always said, this season was all about insane egos. None of these pathetic jury speeches are really about “personal betrayal”, it’s about their crushed egos, simple as that.
Jury management really shouldn’t have been a problem. If the jury wasn’t so bitter then Rob would’ve won unanimously. Especially with all these returning players, you’d think they’re mature enough to vote for the best player! Clearly not
Eh, I feel like the argument would be that voting people off is the easy part. Voting them off in a way they don't hate your guts or at the very least, hate you less than the alternative is how you win Survivor.
While this is an epic jury speech, it does irritate me that we saw Tom plotting with Rupert against Rob at least once. So I'm glad Rob put him in his place cause he's preaching honesty and loyalty but he likely would have betrayed Rob if he had the chance. Blatant hypocrisy
But rob never intended to keep Tom by his side from the beginning of the season. He was making alliances with every1 & on top of that he said in a confessional that as soon he gets the chances get rid of big Tom he would. I kno this is 4yrs later but hell I just finished watching the whole season.

I'll cut Shii Ann some slack there because she never held any grudge, and did go on record as stating that she honestly thought Amber's under the radar strategy was pretty impressive, so at least she didn't vote based on hurt feelings ♥♥
Rob deserved to lose the votes of Lex and Tom. He handled both incredibly poorly. Alicia is just a stupid bitch, she was dead bottom of the alliance, and even if Rob had wanted to keep her i bet she is voted out there anyway. Think of it Shi Ann and Jenna are for sure voting Alicia, there is no way in hell Rob could have convinced Rupert to vote off Jenna his closest ally this early. At most they can maybe vote off Jenna 4-3 with Tom's vote but Tom clearly wanted Alicia out too and was playing both sides with Final 3 deals with Rob/Amber and with Jenna/Rupert (which came back to bite him i the ass). So Alicia goes there anyway, and she is dumb as fuck to ever believe a Final 2 deal with Rob, unlike Tom and Lex who had good reasons to believe their deals with Rob which were never Final 2. Granted Tom is dumb as fuck to want to be in Final 3 with Rob and Amber too, especialy when he sucks in immunities, but that is a whole other topic. Alicia is the only vote that I can question. Lex and Tom had ample reason to be bitter and not vote Rob. Shi Ann was a pro vote for Amber and respected her game.
Everyone on the merged tribe of 9 can clearly see the deep romance of Rob and Ambuh that they won’t turn each other no matter what, but no one seem to notice stepped up to break it. It seems that they are too attached on Rob’s deals with EVERYONE or just happy enough to be third place. Don’t you want to win the whole thing? It’s great to see that in Nicaragua, Holly immediately saw the inseparable power couple of Brenda and Sash at F10. She wisely rallied everyone to break them up and succeeded.
I understand the sentiment but it's the first season to have players who knew each other. Some of them friends outside the game. When you're hungry, tired and homesick, you wouldn't think as straight and all you think is survival mode. As you can see in Rob and Amber's later reality TV stints, Amber is the voice of reason to Rob's ego. She's been that from All-Stars and because of that, I agree that Amber winning wasn't a fluke.

Rob can be a bit too aggressive at times which cast doubt in people's mind, Amber would step in with that lovely warm demeanor and people start trusting them again. To have one puppet master might not be enough, to have 2 puppet masters are game over.

A bitter jury makes the game better. As it stands right now, the jury rewards being betrayed which makes the game boring because betrayal is predictable. When people hate you for blindsiding and playing the social game hard, it counter balances the game well. Without them, there's no downside to betrayal, and makes those big decisions less impactful.
I think Amber deserves it to be honest. She was the real puppet master, Rob went out to execute it brutally and make enemies and didn't came out with the best answers at the tribal council. So to me, if anything Amber totally deserves it.
@@secrets.295 Amber said it best. She got to the final because of luck and terrible strategic choices of other competitors. Her and Rob would never pull that off in a modern Survivor season. Lex should've got rid of her during tribe swap, but for some reason he decided to vote off his ally. After that they also had multiple chances to eliminate either Rob or Amber, but decided to go for the likes of Alicia or Shii Ann... Like honestly, strategically it's one of the worst seasons I've seen.
This jury was more bitter than when Russel didn’t win Samoa. This jury was awful to Rob and Amber and really took this game personally and couldn’t credit their good gameplay because they felt so betrayed.

The important thing is Rob probably knew he was going to propose to amber from pretty early so as long as both of them made it to the finals he would win either way. Pretty smart honestly.
I mean, Rob REALLY only lost this season on account of the jury being upset with him. Amber's opening statement was her basically saying "I got this far because I aligned with Rob" and her only answer to why she deserved it more than he did was "I lied less...?"

Rob's biggest attribute was also his downfall: deal making. This is the list of deals he made Amber: Still hasn't broken it for almost 20 years haha Big Tom: Was sort of a three way deal with Amber, Rob, and Big tom. But really it was big tom and rob's deal. Big Tom thought rob would take him to the final two over amber. and he got knocked out at 5 Alicia: Rob said he would never write down Alicia's name. He did. She never wrote his name down as a result. Lex: Asked for Amber to be protected. Rob immediately broke this alliance the moment the merge happened. Lex was broken over it. Not really pissed at amber even though he knew she was involved. Kathy: Rob's deal with Lex also was kind of a deal with Kathy and Shi Ann. But Amber told her Rob would take Lex and Kathy to the final six (or even final four). In this way, Kathy felt just as betrayed by Amber as Rob. And she saw Rob as a surrogate son in the game and was close with him from Marquesas. She was crushed at rob, but still cared for him in a way she didn't care for Amber. Rob Cesternino: This was just to prevent any meddling from Rob C. It kept him from going to the other Chapera members to vote off Boston Rob or Amber. Rupert/Jenna: I put them together bc this truly was a quad alliance. Amber/Rob made this deal. and they stuck to it. All four made it to the final four. And Jenna was really the betrayer of Rupert to get to the final three and avoid a rock draw. They Rob took amber to the final two. No hard feelings between these two alliances. In conclusion, Rob made deals with so many people. It protected him and Amber. As did winning immunity challenges and only having to go to tribal council once before the merge. But it was his undoing. It crushed Big Tom. It crushed Lex. it crushed Kathy. It pissed off Alicia. Rob got Kathy's vote anyways. But Shi Ann went with Amber and that was all they wrote. Great player. Just didn't jury manage the way he should have. And he. didn't take a bum with him to the finals like he did in redemption island.
This is one of many reasons why I lost a ton of respect for Big Tom after what he said at the end of this speech, and why I could care less if he played Survivor again. Just so bitter!
T. Md not gonna lie I thought the same, but upon rewatch I think amber played well. The edit seemed to favor rob (like Russell in Samoa) but what gets me thinking is Shii Ann. She announced that who she votes (Amber), is the best player who is playing strategically and intelligently. This makes me think the players all saw Amber’s game as impressive and wasn’t just in Rob’s shadow

I like Boston Rob but my view of this matter is that a excellent survivor knows how to backstab without hurting the juries feelings too much. Yul, Earl, Todd, J.T and Danni are all excellent examples of this and that is why you will never see a character like Rupert or Russell win this game.
Not entirely true. She won the crucial Final 4 immunity barely over Rupert. If Rupert wins this no way Rupert is voting against Jenna the way stupid ass Jenna voted against Rupert. It is a tie and either a fire challenge between either Amber/Rob vs Jenna, or they draw rocks in which case 67% shot Rob or Amber are rocked out.
If he votes off Rupert before Tom, he probably loses Rupert's vote. Remember, they had a F4 alliance. And maybe he loses Jenna's vote as well. And he needed that alliance with Alicia as back-up in case something happened and he lost Amber as an alliance partner. I think if you look at this season, you realize Rob had a very small path to get himself to the F2. He was basically gonna have to burn the jury to do it.
I think if he votes off Jenna at 5 he is fine. As long as Rupert is in Final 4 he is voting Rob over Amber. Jenna would still vote Rob, she liked him a lot better than Amber. And if Tom goes out in the Final 3 he is voting Rob.
And honestly if he was smart he would have privately set up a blindside of Amber (the edit would have hid it, you know they love and worship Rob) with everyone but he and Amber voting Amber. And gone to the Final 2 with Alecia who is a huge cuntastic bitch and probably the only one Rob can beat.
Tom was the juror speaking. And voting. Whether anyone believes he or any of the other jurors is being hypocritical is irrelevant. What does matter is that he's holding a vote that the finalists need.
Tom is the only one I felt sorry for. He is a decent, hard working family man. People are convinced the jury was the most bitter jury ever but everyone who didn't vote for Rob was bitter except Tom, who was truly hurt.The rest of the people should have accepted it is a game. Going forward Tom hopefully realized that. :*(
One thing I hate about All Stars seasons........bitter jury! If the All Star Jury wasn't so bitter Rob would of won All Star and we wouldn't have to seen him on Survivor: Robdemshit Island and if the All Star Jury wasn't so bitter Parvati and or Russell would of won Heroes vs Villains! IMO
In this particular season, it was the first returnee season. So people were legit friends and stuff outside the game. No one was really prepared to play with friends in that way. Otherwise, being voted out when you either think it was stupid for the person voting you out or if you think the people staying don't deserve to can piss off most people. This is for a million dollars. I'm impressed people can starve themselves, be filthy, and be pushed through so much stress and still smile after being ousted tbh. I know I wouldn't under certain conditions. This isn't family scrabble night with nothing at stake.
That last part of “don’t be stupid, stupid” is just so obnoxious and annoying. Yes Rob was a complete jerk this season, but Big Tom knows he wanted to vote Rob off and conspired to do it. Trying to hide behind his Southern charm acting all dumb about it. Not buying it.
In Rob's defense, Tom did consider getting Rob out at one point. Rob just outsmarted him.

Lex: Asked for Amber to be protected. Rob immediately broke this alliance the moment the merge happened. Lex was broken over it. Not really pissed at amber even though he knew she was involved.
Kathy: Rob's deal with Lex also was kind of a deal with Kathy and Shi Ann. But Amber told her Rob would take Lex and Kathy to the final six (or even final four). In this way, Kathy felt just as betrayed by Amber as Rob. And she saw Rob as a surrogate son in the game and was close with him from Marquesas. She was crushed at rob, but still cared for him in a way she didn't care for Amber.
Rob Cesternino: This was just to prevent any meddling from Rob C. It kept him from going to the other Chapera members to vote off Boston Rob or Amber.
Rupert/Jenna: I put them together bc this truly was a quad alliance. Amber/Rob made this deal. and they stuck to it. All four made it to the final four. And Jenna was really the betrayer of Rupert to get to the final three and avoid a rock draw. They Rob took amber to the final two. No hard feelings between these two alliances.
In conclusion, Rob made deals with so many people. It protected him and Amber. As did winning immunity challenges and only having to go to tribal council once before the merge. But it was his undoing. It crushed Big Tom. It crushed Lex. it crushed Kathy. It pissed off Alicia. Rob got Kathy's vote anyways. But Shi Ann went with Amber and that was all they wrote. Great player. Just didn't jury manage the way he should have. And he. didn't take a bum with him to the finals like he did in redemption island.
This is one of many reasons why I lost a ton of respect for Big Tom after what he said at the end of this speech, and why I could care less if he played Survivor again. Just so bitter!

I liked Boston Rob in Marquesas but I admit I didn't liked him in All-stars but he deserved to win over Amber.
He was great in every season. One of the best players in the game.
T. Md not gonna lie I thought the same, but upon rewatch I think amber played well. The edit seemed to favor rob (like Russell in Samoa) but what gets me thinking is Shii Ann. She announced that who she votes (Amber), is the best player who is playing strategically and intelligently. This makes me think the players all saw Amber’s game as impressive and wasn’t just in Rob’s shadow
@Ichiro20 Easier to say when you haven't actually played the game. I like Boston Rob but my view of this matter is that a excellent survivor knows how to backstab without hurting the juries feelings too much. Yul, Earl, Todd, J.T and Danni are all excellent examples of this and that is why you will never see a character like Rupert or Russell win this game.

Not entirely true. She won the crucial Final 4 immunity barely over Rupert. If Rupert wins this no way Rupert is voting against Jenna the way stupid ass Jenna voted against Rupert. It is a tie and either a fire challenge between either Amber/Rob vs Jenna, or they draw rocks in which case 67% shot Rob or Amber are rocked out.

These people took it way too seriously. The entire point of the game is to outmaneuver your opponents.
If he votes off Rupert before Tom, he probably loses Rupert's vote. Remember, they had a F4 alliance. And maybe he loses Jenna's vote as well. And he needed that alliance with Alicia as back-up in case something happened and he lost Amber as an alliance partner. I think if you look at this season, you realize Rob had a very small path to get himself to the F2. He was basically gonna have to burn the jury to do it.
I think if he votes off Jenna at 5 he is fine. As long as Rupert is in Final 4 he is voting Rob over Amber. Jenna would still vote Rob, she liked him a lot better than Amber. And if Tom goes out in the Final 3 he is voting Rob.
And honestly if he was smart he would have privately set up a blindside of Amber (the edit would have hid it, you know they love and worship Rob) with everyone but he and Amber voting Amber. And gone to the Final 2 with Alecia who is a huge cuntastic bitch and probably the only one Rob can beat.

Tom was the juror speaking. And voting. Whether anyone believes he or any of the other jurors is being hypocritical is irrelevant. What does matter is that he's holding a vote that the finalists need.
Tom is the only one I felt sorry for. He is a decent, hard working family man. People are convinced the jury was the most bitter jury ever but everyone who didn't vote for Rob was bitter except Tom, who was truly hurt.The rest of the people should have accepted it is a game. Going forward Tom hopefully realized that. :*(

In this particular season, it was the first returnee season. So people were legit friends and stuff outside the game. No one was really prepared to play with friends in that way. Otherwise, being voted out when you either think it was stupid for the person voting you out or if you think the people staying don't deserve to can piss off most people. This is for a million dollars. I'm impressed people can starve themselves, be filthy, and be pushed through so much stress and still smile after being ousted tbh. I know I wouldn't under certain conditions. This isn't family scrabble night with nothing at stake.

That last part of “don’t be stupid, stupid” is just so obnoxious and annoying. Yes Rob was a complete jerk this season, but Big Tom knows he wanted to vote Rob off and conspired to do it. Trying to hide behind his Southern charm acting all dumb about it. Not buying it.
