    Checking out the new SOG Flash Multitool, which gives you a knife (D2), pliers, screwdrivers, and bottle opener in a compact size. New multitools and new SOG knives are listed below the video. Enjoy :]

    I always liked the in between of a properdedicated knife and a multi tool. where the other tools function around the knife as a base.

    It’s a pretty good edc option. The blade is surprisingly slicey and they did the clip right. Only thing I’d say about the pliers is that the gears force you to open the handles pretty wide to get the jaws around something like a nut. The PowerPint has the same issue, but to a lesser extent. (But they ARE excellent quality and the gears do seem to increase strength a bit.) Also note that the Powerpint takes standard 1/4” bits (but with no storage) while this one takes the smaller size. They’re both otherwise great lightweight edc pliers. Choose the Flash if you want a nice clip and one-handed blade. I like pairing it with a SAK like the compact, for the awesome scissors… that gives me everything I need most days.

    I like it; a switch blade multitool! And, your multitool reviews are still my favorites. Keep'm coming.

    I think SOG missed the opportunity to put a combination can and bottle opener on this instead of just a bottle opener but that's just me, I rather have that than the flathead screwdriver. "Different strokes for different folks",

      Considering it comes with the double ended bit, I think your suggestion makes a lot of sense.

      i think a can opener is one of the most useless things on a knife IMO the best would have been a t shank adapter, then it would use any bit and any t shank and pretty much have most of the functionality of a full size

    Great review - many thanks for this.
    I'm an EDC / MultiTool junkie & am seriously considering this, & the only negatives for me are the D2 blade & non-sprung pliers.
    I like the light weight of this & If the blade was a stainless & the pliers were sprung this would be perfect
    However I do like the innovation, uniqueness & the compound pliers of SOG tools, & their excellent PowerPint is currently my EDC of choice.

    This goes great with the Roxon KS2 Elite. Very little overlap. Both small. Great blade steel on both. Great scissors and saw on Roxon. Great pliers on SOG. Both use 4mm bits.

      Yeah, the blade works surprisingly well. When I saw it looked thick and short, I had my doubts, but they managed to implement it well.

    The riveted in knife detent spring snapped on mine within months making this tool INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS TO HANDLE. It required me to disassemble and remove the flash deploy spring and ALWAYS use the blade lock switch to avoid stabbing my palm. Fuck SOG, the tool is nice but not worth the cost of an ER visit

    Looks cool but same price point as a Leatherman Rebar. Assisted feature is very cool. Miss your Multitool Mondays. // Currently out of stock Amazon// Man! They want 139 for a SOG Targa!

    So close SOG. If it wasn't an assisted d2 blade, held 1/4" bits, and had spring-loaded pliers it would be awesome. Otherwise it has a great tool set.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These brands should definitely avoid non standard bits, and to add the rubber piece to carry a non-standard bit, it's a little crazy. Not hugely bad or anything in the real world, just kind of muddled design thinking.

    Never use the knives on the "traditional" multi tool. Always carry separate cutting blades to abuse. Carried a Swisstool and Kershaw Composite leek for years.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is definitely a popular way to go, especially among us knife people, I've always felt they should make more knifeless multitools for those of us who usually have a folding knife on us anyway.

      @@WeAllJuggleKnives I've only come across two from OK brands. Leatherman Rebar and Gerber MP600.
      I would really like a company that would embrace the ability for an end user to modify the tools themselves. I don't need 3 blades and 97 bottle openers on a multitool.

    • @SemiMono
      @SemiMono 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, 97 bottle openers is about right. I can't find a multitool without one. I can't even find a keychain without one. I like redundancy, but it gets ridiculous at some point.
      I'd like to have something more modular as well.@@corey8704

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives

      Yeah, SOG pricing gets into Leatherman territory, that's their biggest problem. They should keep their pricing mid range, $40-60 would be the best spot in the market for them.
