Many Romance languages have unstressed vowels, Spanish actually has unstressed vowels, Italian too. I would say that it is precisely the Portuguese (and more so that of Portugal) that stresses its vowels.

I've read a book about chavacano and it's said this creole language has influence from Portuguese (a bit odd) evident with the use of preposition "na" instead of the spanish "en", and the pronounciation of some words
