Not gonna lie, in the canceled Utapau arc. Obi-Wan made a jab at the Geneva Convention (i.e. the Yavin Convention in Star Wars) but the convention is hundreds or thousands of years old (I can't remember the exact line). So it kinda does exist but most in-universe characters don't know or remember but I choose to accept the Yavin Convention as canon lol
About 1,000 years old, according to Anakin. Although it was specifically the Yavin Code, which dictated that all prisoners are required to be blindfolded prior to execution, that most characters have forgotten about. Not the Yavin Convention as a whole. And I remember reading in Wookieepedia and other sources that the Utapau arc is officially considered canon despite its unfinished state.
Then Anakin routinely broke Yavin convention ethics for war. Obi Wan, too, like when they regularly feigned surrender, but war crimes are cool when you're fighting a bunch of stupid robots
Question: Did General Grievous need to eat? I ask this because, since he has an organic heart, organic lungs, and ESPECIALLY an organic brain, he must have been getting caloric intake from somewhere to be able to survive. Now, I’m not saying that he’s eating a sandwich for lunch or anything (besides, I’d imagine that it would be similar to how Vader’s “feeding tube” system works), but if he has to consume food, then Grievous presumably has a digestive system, and therefore would need to relieve himself from time to time, and how exactly would THAT work? Don’t take this too seriously… just an intrusive thought that I needed to let out of its cage
I think much like that one russian astronaut grievous got absolutely obliterated and barely survived because of palpatine wanting to use him he was take just well enough care of to keep him alive and fighting but not actually improve his quality of life so imagine they rigged up some basic feeding system or it was automated by his robotic parts to feed the organic parts as needed 🤷♂️ also again since he got blown up i dont think he had to worry about having to use the bathroom and probably taken care of too thankfully we dont need to know if aliens pool because im pretty sure they do according to the old real lore
13:00 It's consistent with the dark character of Anakin to value the immediate victory over the longterm preservation of civilians. But I'm disappointed if the writers of the show glorified the unethical treacherous tactic of false surrender. Best not to normalize this shallow sense of righteousness for children, even if most will only ever be influenced to rationalize it in more petty contexts than war.
At the end of the day, that false surrender was fine, because when it comes to stopping the Separatists from starving out a population, any means are acceptable.

He could argue that he believed the plan had failed and was discussing terms when another unit that hadn't surrendered interrupted the negotiation and gave him an opportunity to escape custody and take his captor prisoner.
1:43:38- I did start off by saying this might be a easier way to explain it….. but like with everything else, if someone wants to argue and make things seem more complicated then it needs to be then it can turn into a more complicated conversation!!! Anyway, I didn’t take this ad far as I could have (aka if someone is trying to make it more complicated) but it should be good enough! Hyperspace = highway Regular space travel = roads Town = immediate area around that planet State = future away areas Obviously if you just need to go a short distance you don’t need to go into hyperspace. But if you need to get to a planet further away than you need to go into hyperspace. And just like highways, it doesn’t go through every state! So some time you need to get off one highway and drive down 1 or a few different roads and then jump on another highway!
For the Lucrehulks, i’d imagine when the republic ordered the Trade Federation to break up their fleet, they just erased the rolls of ships and immediately hid them on or around Separatist planets. That way, the lucrehulks could immediately be refit for military service. In the unlikely event the ships were found, The Trade Federation could just say they sold them.
I, for one, quite like the Diamond class cruiser, as it was the personal ship of general Sevrance Tann, who was my first encouter with the Chiss. And the first time I saw a yellow lightsaber.
Yeah we then see on the battle of ryloth that civilians are used as living shields. A war crime but apparently acceptable now. Wat Tambor was lucky he wasn’t just executed by windu, probably because windu has some principles and Tambor was no longer a threat.

Maybe I’m just stupid but I never really thought about how the separatists are actually a bunch of megacorps waging a war. The Republic allocates funding primarily through public resources coming from the planets, while the interstellar corporations already had the resources available and were gradually preparing for an inevitable conflict, then just concentrated their insane monetary power. Each corporation isn’t representing individual planets they’re each blocs with diverse interstellar connections. I feel like the clone wars is more often framed as “proxy war between Jedi and Sith” rather than the “conglomerate of stellar mega-corporations who want a turn runnings things fed up with the shortcomings/regulations of a central galactic government” aspect which the average citizen is probably much more impacted by. They’ve obviously got the backing of the CIS and basically serve as its military/security arm, but it’s still interesting.
Anakin a war criminal ?, no shit Sherlock !, he chopped up unarmed children under his care with a light sabre, I can still see that one kid flinching, war criminal is one of the least of his atrocities, that was just unforgivable. On a brighter note, as someone who has not seen the Clone Wars animated series this video filled in a lot of blanks, thanks for your efforts.
14:00 Whenever this comes up in a conversation and I have to explain the problem with false surrender, I just say that if I were a CIS commander, all troops under my command would be under standing orders to kill any clone or Jedi attempting to surrender, because statistically it's probably a trap. Of course as a CIS commander I'd also make extensive use of incendiary and biological weapons, both of which my droids are immune to and the latter of which can be tailored to clone DNA, eliminating the collateral damage that normally accompanies the use of such tactics. I would wipe out entire armies without firing a bolt or even disrupting the day to day lives of civilians. Seriously, the CIS dropped the ball in a big way with the bioweapons. 21:00 From a tactical perspective, it's kind of odd that the Venator has so many turbolasers at all. Modern aircraft carriers use their aircraft as their offensive weapons, and only have a handful of defensive weapons systems on board, instead relying on their aircraft and support fleet to intercept threats or destroy them before they get within striking distance. I suppose it makes sense to give them some offensive weaponry, simply because of the reliance on line of sight weapons, but it's still designed as a carrier, and better suited to serve as one.
i hate the inconsistency of shield power. At ryloth a few vulture droids tore a Venator in half. But the same episode two venators tank hundreds if not thousands of laser blasts from a 700-meter-long ship. capital ship Lazers and one ship was badly damaged already.
I see the Force as a galaxy spanning pool. Each living thing bathes in the pool, and therefore all connected even indirectly. To go off Banes idea... if every sith or jedi took a sip from the pool every time they used the force, the pool would be thin and weak. If there were only two, or one well attuned individual, then the pool is deep and powerful.
1:23:15- That is one of those questions that I still can’t find any answers on!?! Probably because it’s not a big issue (nor a issue at all) but also no one else really cares…….
