    I still have a question about bank feeds. When I'm using bank feeds to enter in credit card payments or transfer funds between bank accounts, how do I know to use Categorize or Transfer or Credit Card Payment etc. I keep ending up with duplicate transactions that I then have to void to clear them up.... such a mess and on and on. It seems like it would be so easy and then I end up spending my whole day cleaning up the tangled trail. Thank you for these great and helpful videos!! Perhaps there is already a video for this??

      Categorize - use when you assign expense to the account (let's say printing paper to the "office supplies" account), transfer - use when u record a money transfer between your banks, CC payment - use when pay off a credit card balance (usually once a month)

    Your list of menus on the left is different than mine - for example, the way you get to Expense is in the Accounting menu, but I don’t have that option…it’s within the Expenses menu - which technically I can access adding transactions to a credit card, checking, etc. Multiple ways - IF as long as the Expense fill in is the same destination. So am I ending up at the same destination as you to enter these? Thanks! PS - FINALLY…someone teaches in a way that is conducive to my learning style!!!

    Hi Candus, thank you so much for the video, it is very helpful! I had set up autopay for one of my credit cards with a statement balance, however, for some months, the autopay amount was different from the statement balance. after I saw your video, you said we can cancel the check after you hit the reconcile button on QB desktop (as you said you have to make sure the "difference is 0") and just enter the check amount of auto payment on the next statement later on, correct?

    Appreciate the efforts but at 4:45 I think it would have been better to admit to making a mistake entering the date because clearly you should enter the date of the statement not the day before and also the $1000 balance was still there. Better still doing that part of the video again because it may confuse people.

    Great video less. Thank you! Currently, I use the monthly credit card statement to consolidate all monthly transactions into one bill and match/record the payment according to the monthly statement. Is there a way to maintain this process when uploading the statement, or must each transaction be treated individually? Using this method I balance each CC monthly to the statement and only reconcile the cash accounts.

    Hi Candus, I'm used to doing CC entries your way; however, I've worked for companies who enter it as a bill and enter each expense into that bill. It's created double entries as sometimes the cc is attached to a paypal refund for example, and that refund has already been entered and reconciled with paypal. Anyway, at these companies, bills were paid off monthly. Do you still recommend making that payment entry straight from bank account? What is the difference from using that "pay down cc" feature under new and other? I saw a video that said you can't make a mistake there. If you've already been entering cc as a bill with each expense as individual lines on that bill and you want to switch over to this way, is that possible?

    Hi Candus, Thank you for making this video. You made a comment at about 20:20 in the video regarding "Enter a bill to pay later" feature after Reconciling. I used this feature a few times and it has had me so confused and I've been searching all over TH-cam to better understand this feature. I heard you say you recommend we don't use this feature, which for now I stopped using it, but I still would like to have a better understanding of how it is suppose to work. It seems like QB enters the Bill as a payment (so confusing). Also if I don't have a Bill for my credit card in QBO I don't know of another way to track a payment for the card is coming due (It won't show on my unpaid bills report). Finally, Is there a way to see the Open available Credit I have on a Credit card in QBO? Thanks for your time.

    When I categorize a transaction as a credit card payment if duplicates the transaction as an expense and a credit card payment when I reconcile. I’m have to go back and clean up the duplicates. Not sure what I’m doing wrong and I’m sure I’ve messed up my books some how. I’d like to clean them up so I can start from scratch all over again. 😭

    why did you make the credit card payment an expenses?

      Hi,
      Thanks for reaching out.
      I'm sorry we're just now responding to your comment!
      Based on your question, what I think you're asking is why we use the expense feature it's because it wasn't paid with a check in this example, it was paid online.

    If my ending balance is set , but my payment for that month comes in 2 weeks later, how can I get to zero without that payment applied timely

    • @CandusKampfer
      @CandusKampfer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Steven, you add the payment when it happens, and it will match your statement.

    Don't understand where the $1,000 beginning balance came from on the credit card. This is a new company and the credit card was used for the first time.

    • @CandusKampfer

      In this example, it came from the beginning balance on the statement.
      If you don't have a beginning balance you wouldn't add anything. You'd start by entering your charges.

      Hi,
      Thank you for reaching out.
      I wanted to let you know that you can slow down the speed of the video by clicking on the wheel in the button right corner of the video, clicking "Playback Speed" and then selecting which speed you'd prefer that way you can fully understand everything Candus is teaching in this tutorial 🤗
      I hope this helps!
      Have a great day,

    Great information but you talk way toooooo fast. It's as though your speech was on high speed.

      Go to settings on the video, that gear thing and on speed you can go to 75 or 50 percent speed, it wont change the pitch just the speed...

      Steven's recommendation hopefully helps if you prefer a slower pace.

    How do I zero out payments to my business credit cards at the end of the year
    I’m confused about to what account should I zero them out to start fresh

      @CandusKampfer  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi,
      Thanks for reaching out.
      You don't zero out your accounts, you should be entering charges and apply payments to pay the credit card down.
