Beth we had the same problem, but little by little giving treats, talking everyday to him, letting him crawl into my hand and get treats. Just give it time you will bond!

How would I go about bonding with my adult glider, we just had someone give her to us. She has obviously not been handled or had any bonding, your videos have been great for how to take care of our glider, I am one that really wants the best for any pet of mine! Please help with the adult bonding. Should u try holding it?

how do i stop it from biting ????

Every glider is different with bonding. Some ppl believe that adults can't bond or it takes forever to bond. In my experience along with others that I know that owned them longer than me have had some adults bond quicker than babies. Bonding can take days weeks months even years. I adopted a 7 yr old abused rescue and she bonded with me within a month. Before I got her she was never handled. I have also bought babies that have taken longer. It's important to interact with your glider daily

Since my glider is currently turning 3weeks oop, when can I officially start potty training... Please help me as far as diet is concern, I am not well educated when it comes to diet, could you give me some recipes. Also, what are the substitute product that are available there, I'm living here in Philippines where owners like me is not well educated regarding diet, It's sad because some just give only a slice of apple .

I do small animal rescue. I just rescued a 1 year old sugar glider. I am learning more and more about them as I read. I love your videos! You give the best information that I have found. I am trying to bond with him because I intend on keeping him as a personal pet. I read that they have pretty large teeth will it hurt if he bites me? . Because he is older, should I use the smaller cage? Also should I not be using the fleece pouch in the cage even though he is older?

I know a breeder who will not let her gliders be adopted until they are 12 wks old or older. When pointed out to her that the prime bonding time for a glider is generally 8-12 weeks she says that it does not matter how old the glider is, it will still bond with you as long as you put the time and effort in. I understand this, but doesn't the bonding process take longer and become harder the older a glider gets? Is there much of a difference w/ bonding a 6 mo old SG as opposed to a 3 mo old?

I am about to get my first sugar glider. my question is that at the start of bonding, how is the best way to spend time with it? holding it in my hand or maybe in a bonding pouch?

Thank you for the info.. By the way, I have a joey here that is almost 3 weeks OOP.. She's staying with her parents that is not tamed, I can't touch them because I didn't have a good bond with them when they were still young, so, what should I do? should I separate my baby and hand-fed it or let it grow in her parents. Although she's staying in her parents, i usually get her from the couple and then return it after I play with her. Please give me some advice.
PS: Sorry for my bad English....

Ive had my sugar glider for a year, I had her on pre-order at my petstore for 6 months and i wanted a joey. What I got was a 1 year old sugar glider that was seperated from her mate so she was very scared. She still hasnt bonded with me yet and I almost want to give up. Ive been spending ALOT of time with her this week but She still seems almost just as bad as when we first got her. I need to try to find a mate for her but their to expensive. Please help.

What is your recommendation for bonding with adopted adult sugar gliders? Ours are between a year and a year and a half. I am not sure they bonded to their previous owner either from talking to her.

@cornbread359 I bout two adult gliders and Iet them get used to my scent and noises. Them I got a pouch and carried them around with me. When I took them out I did wear gloves cause mine were really mean, but I usually took them off after they got used to handling. Some gliders do not like pouches like one of my newest baby hates pouches with zippers he just hates it. But he loves Velcro pouches. I hope this helps do not be afraid to contact me.

I just got my sugar glider yesterday. He's 1 years old and he seems untamed and fairly frighten of humans. I watched all your videos. But when it comes to bonding with him, i'm still alot of difficulties. Plus the seller wasn't helpful either, far from willing to give me a step by step guide. Do u have any videos or websites that u can recommend me that focus on more bonding skills esp with scared & older glider? & what else to do other than carrying it around?
pls... i really need your advice

My aunt is giving me her 2 years old sugar glider, Alvin (because she can't give him all the attention he needs). Alvin is very bond to my aunt, she bought him when he was 10 weeks old. I've seen Alvin sometimes and he doesn't let me touch him, so I'm very scared of him not bonding to me... will it be very hard? How long would it take? (Well, he IS used to people touching him so...)
