Heat rocks have been proven to cause burns in animals. I am studying at a top school to become an exotic vet here and I have a lot of experience with mammals and reptiles, both of which I have seen with severe burns caused by heat rocks. My father is a USDA licensed breeder of reptiles, birds, and exotic mammals and has been for over almost 40 years and he knows this for a fact as well. I can also show proof of burns caused by heat rocks through pictures and vet documentation.

Seriously people, if you watch ALL of the videos, they will answer ALL of your questions. And if you can't watch ALL of the videos...... Then you really shouldn't have a glider as a pet.

Is it 100% necessary to have a cage? Would it be ok to have a "free range" sugar glider?

where can I find the cage (2nd larger cage shown) you recommend for adults? I really like it and think it would suit our needs very well.

I have a question I couldn't find a answer for in the videos.
I thought of getting either 1-2 rats or suger gliders as pets.
However im studing turism and this mean I might get a job where I would have to travel alot in diffrent contrys and not be home most of the time. Is it posible to have a suger glider and be able to travel with them or do I need to choose? I dont feel like letting them be home cause I wouldnt be there most of the time.

I've built a cage and we used 1 inch by 1 and a half inch wire. It's not coated with anything and doesnt poke. Is this too big?
