    4:34 The machine those two temp probes are sitting on is a mobile suction/ vacuum machine. VERY old. Usually newer hospitals have central suction that's built into the room. The two black boxes are Alaris Temp Plus 2080's. They're used for rectal temperature. Haven't really been used since the 2000's.
    4:40 You're looking at a super oldschool defibrillator. We don't use that style of defib anymore. We use the newer shock pads that connect to a central machine because they're more capable, and offer more options than just "shock".
    4:43 That's a "Levin Tube" or "Levin Type Tube". It's a nasogastric tube that's large bore enough to either irrigate, flush, or administer fluids to and from the stomach. Nasogastric just means it's inserted through the nose and down the esophagus, rather than through the mouth. That style of NG tube is still used today.
    4:48 That is a CVC which stands for Central Venous Catheter. Usually used for rapid infusion of high volumes of fluid, or medication. Also used commonly for people that are septic, and need a direct line running to the heart to ensure rapid perfusion throughout the body. Similar to a PICC line, but used for different reasons.

      What about 12:30 in the X-ray room, is it working?

    • @therickening7323
      @therickening7323 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@K0J0K That's an x-ray machine that's more commonly used for catheter placement, or for contrast die imaging. Same idea as the x-ray machines when you goto your doctor, but used for slightly different reasons. The machine has power, so yes it should/ could work if you knew how to operate it. In the video he is scared to mess with it, but they do not emit any radiation when not taking images. It would be almost impossible for you to accidently activate it. There are specific procedure, and set of parameters that have to be set before you could use the machine. So, there's no worry in turning it on. Also, it would take nearly 2-4 thousand x-ray images before you would become sick due to the radiation.

    This hospital shut down in 2017 due to its poor citizens who had the lowest incomes in that county. They relied on Medicare and Medicare payments. But the average person made 23k per year there. The hospital didn’t get reimbursed for its services by the govt for those patients so they were forced to merge with next county over hospital which has residents with higher salaries. That’s the govt for you, poor always get shuffled. This place is down south…

    It always makes me sad to see such waste. That equipment and supplies could have provided so much good had it been donated rather then just abandoned. Another example of why American Health Care cost are outrageous. Here is an example of the differences in costs….
    I recently was charged an $8,000 copay fee for a simple out patient procedure. I took less then 2hrs and by 10am I was already back in the car being driven home. I’m responsible for 20% of my bill for co-pay and they wouldn’t even schedule the surgery until I had made payment arrangements so I had to pay the $8,000 upfront. This was a really simple outpatient surgery that was billed at $40,000 for my out of pocket to be $8,000.
    Compare that to my friend who needed a hysterectomy to save her life. Her period basically never stopped and she was slowly getting weaker, anemic and was passing out. She didn’t have insurance and had to pay out of pocket at time of service to get her surgery. She had a full hysterectomy and spent 3 days in the hospital recovering. She is in Mexico, her total costs were $2,500! That’s not a copay! That’s the entire cost!!

    You are literally my favorite TH-camr, the excitement I get when I see you posted another video is on a whole another level. I have personally with a group of friends started exploring abandoned places around Dallas but unfortunately many buildings are being repurposed or demolished. The Santa Fe railroad tunnels all under Dallas would've been great to explore but have now been sealed off completely.

      As being A CHRISTIAN, a saved soul, aren`t we called to be Christlike, an example how to live righteously? If we keep watching movies, listening pop songs and attending to concerts and sport events, then we send out a wrong/confused message to the lost/unsaved.
      That kind of entertainment, we are used to have, comes from satan, not from GOD.
      For the road to life is VERY NARROW, NO WICKED THINGS ALLOWED ON IT.
      IF those, who go with the RAPTURE, leave behind even these clothes they wear that moment, then having found worldly entertainment in our life until the last moment.........
      Leave all behind and GO AND SIN NO MORE.

    ICU is for severe cases that require close monitoring. And you have different kinds of ICU units. If you come out of surgery, any kind of surgery, you are placed in an ICU for a period of time. Then you have trauma units which are usually located beside ICUs. I assume they left behind a lot of that equipment because they already made their money from it. They couldn't be bothered to sell it off. But it does look like they sold the more expensive stuff like the CAT. This place is definitely a gem!

    The amount of emotional residue left behind at 7:33 actually that whole floor you were on is extreme. You can feel the sadness, the fear, the loneliness and the hopelessness on that floor. Apparently many people died there and that haunting emotional residue is left behind. Hence the feeling of darkness and heaviness will make one feel scared to death. Makes it feel haunted.

    Josh I love your exploring videos so much, you inspire me to explore haunted/abandoned places all over my state of Virginia. I hope you can come to Virginia because there is an abandoned palace called Swannanoa Palace that was built in 1913. Major Dooley died in 1922 at the age of 82. He left Swannanoa entirely to his wife, Sallie Mae, along with several million dollars. Sallie May Dooley died in 1925 at the age of 79. Major Dooley left the estate to his four sisters. Many pieces of the Swannanoa furniture were moved to Maymont upon the death of Sallie May, it went abandoned in 1944 and is still decaying but standing to this day. In the main big room on the ground flor is two secret doors on each side of a really cool fireplace. On June 8, 2013, a team of ghost hunters from Twisted Paranormal Society headed for Afton, Virginia. Their destination was a magnificent mountaintop structure, calledSwannanoa Palace. Rumors that the estate was haunted had been swirling for years. During their investigation1, TPS collected much evidence which justified these claims. They caught images of spectral orbs, shooting across rooms and stairwells; recorded ghostly voices, responding to investigators’ questions. Several team members also felt uneasy and ill during the visit. Other spirits who lurk in Swannanoa Palace include servants and groundskeepers who worked there. Their voices contribute to all the “eerie audio evidence”11 Twisted Paranormal Society captured during their investigation. Such results prove that the estate is definitely caught in some type of limbo. The library is believed to be the palace’s most active room.

      Your mind can play cray trucks on you, and even cause physical manifestations. So people "feeling ill" isn't it of the ordinary. Their mind is making them hear and see things, and that causes their anxiety to go through the roof, causing them to feel sick.

    One thing that bothers me are these hospitals leaving perfectly good condition items behind. Take the wheelchairs for example. Many of our elderly or those who are disabled could benefit from having those.

      @sheetzjunkie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That was my thought as well. I work for a medical equipment company and I know how much that equipment is needed. I feel if they abandon a full hospital they should be required to donate the left equipment

    • @Angyal_Angyal

      They might have left some of the equipment behind for two reasons.
      • They used the facility for Covid testing and immunizations.
      • They have plans to reopen it at some point.

    • @sallyj632

      @@Angyal_Angyal True, but even so there have been other hospitals that are definitely abandoned, as in permanently. Not saying this one, but past hospitals they've explored. So many items could have been donated.

      @@sallyj632 you're right, I've seen those on Josh's vids. It is a waste of good resources. Even if they didn't use some of stuff at other medical facilities, they could always recycle them. It isn't logical in my mind. 😕

I never seen that brand before but those things are worth a lot of money I would definitely tell someone because there’s a big shortage of machines.

    This is the difference between private healthcare and public healthcare systems. That X-ray machine, hospital beds can all be recycled. I’m sure there are hospitals in the world that would give anything for that equipment no matter how old it is. There was also crash trolleys left which can save someone life. Leaving thousands of pounds worth of equipment AND patient records. Disgusting. Thank you for showing how disgraceful and wasteful these so called private health corporations really are.
