In this video I've tried to capture the magic, fun and excitement of sharing aviation with friends. Please comment with one of your special aviation memories. I'd love to hear about your experiences! And yes, Jill does request to fly over Tescos! Why not?!
Very nice, Short and sweet flight pleased the young lady sat in the co-pilots seat she seemed to enjoy your flight, and the wishful shopping trip to Tescos lol :) 😁😁😁
Thank you David, I think Jill really enjoyed the flight. She's a character and you never know I may take her flying again for more supermarket spotting!
Very nice video Chris. Brilliantly summing up what our flying is about and how nice it is to share what we do. Tower was busy and glad you made it to Tesco’s 👍😎
That was lovely, such a pleasure to watch, pleasure and privilege to be able to share the hobby too I recall a similar thing with toe brakes, taxying in a C42 (handbrake/finger brakes) for the first time - then trying to subconsciously press down the toe brakes🙄😄 In a nano second, I quickly remembered the hand/finger brakes😄😄 There was no danger and I wasn't found out as a curled my toes over the top of the rudder pedals 🙄😄😄😄
Yes the subtle differences between spam cans eh? Thankfully when I had a brain fart about the lack of toe brakes it was with an instructor and landing on the huge runway at Bristol. I'm happy to admit my mistakes and learn from it! Glad you enjoyed the video, it was a pleasure to put it together 👍
Thanks, this was filmed last summer after a lot of logistical challenges at Bristol for our flying group. I always use a checklist and was happy I had sufficient visibility. However, we were having difficulties accessing our aircraft, protecting the aircraft from the elements, refuelling, obtaining other equipment and also having the aircraft properly cleaned. After this period they all had a thorough clean.
Oh that was sweet, she loved it! Nice landing too, well done Chris. I wish it was easier for all of us to take passengers up for fun more often than we do.
Thanks for saying so Cameron! Yes, when these last couple of flights were filmed the windscreen needed a damn good clean. I now make sure I work cleaning the surfaces into my pre-flight regardless of whether it looks clean or not. For a while we've been struggling to access basic supplies at Bristol for our aircraft. Hopefully that will change and we will start getting more support for General Aviation. It's been a real challenge having to plan our flights in order to refuel or stock up on other products elsewhere, usually we have to fly to Kemble or Dunkeswell!
Great video a nice gesture on your part and lucky Jill flying in a Spitfire. My nephew recently gained his PPL and took me up for a short flight from Denham👍👏
Wonderful! I’ll have to fly in with a microlight (3 axis of course!) and show you an aircraft with a fantastic rate of climb 😉 Seriously though I used the learn out of Bristol back twenty years ago in a 172. Fantastic
It's always good to hear of other Bristol pilots, present and past. I can only imagine what it must have been like twenty years ago. You'll have to fly in one day!

PA 28 is lovely to fly…PA38 more unruly but fun. Nice video! 👍🏴
Thanks for watching!

Thanks Tim, I think sharing aviation and making special memories for people is perhaps the most important thing we can do as pilots!
Great to see a new upload Chris.. still looking good dude. Did my solo a few weeks back now at 11.4 hours in the book.. time for some hour building ☺️
Thanks! That's fantastic news on your solo, keep up the good work and before you know it you'll be qualified

Great video, shame you didn’t follow the checklist and clean the windscreen 😁

Thank you Charlie, hopefully we get to do some fun flying soon
Well done, Chris. Your confidence has improved greatly in the last year or so! Did you forget to clean the windscreen?? 😁

Bristol Ground School…the very best…don’t need books…all online..
They have an excellent reputation and I very much intend to do my ATPLs using BGS
