It's interesting how holo feels much stronger in Apex. I guess the slower pace and the fact that most players are running or sliding on the ground instead of doing complicated air moves makes the holos less obvious.
Especially when you consider that mirage's holos can only do two movements, crouch walking and sprinting. I wonder how much more effective they could be if they were able to even just strafe as well.
In addition, anyone who shoots the Holo is revealed

A trick that helps with turning around a 90 degree corner is to get to the edge of the corner and press crouch to drop off the wall and use momentum to get passed the end of the wall and you double jump to get back on once around the corner. I know that's not the best explanation, but I hope you get the idea.
I gotta try this. I think that explanation was enough.
I usually either jump off the wall a split second before I reach the corner and immediately jump again turning the view 90 degrees, or let it disengage you off the wall when you reach the end of the corner and then instantly jump back on turning 90 degrees.
After regenerating so much i start to realise how usefull random pick for the boosts is to improve how well you can adapt to any scenario

Stim is pretty epic when you nail the movement, my favourite part is flag caps when you just connect those perfect wallkicks will going at break necks speeds you get a different feeling to just slingshotting across the map. Don't get me wrong I love grapple as well stim just holds that special place in my heart where grapple would for others. Once you've nailed the movement with stim any other tactical becomes a breeze because you're just moving so slower that chaining the air strafes slide-hops and wallkicks is so much easier; I'm no where near top tier but I can still move with that spicy speed titanfall provides. There is one thing you mentioned that piqued my interest though,it was when you mentioned how useless you felt without being able to grapple someone ejecting. I have that same feeling when I use grapple (usually with kraber) and try to strafe eject which lets me get out fast af but I end up just grappling the floor right onto the enemy below me. Great video anyways, probably the longest comment I've left in a while.

I agree cyber especially with the feeling bored when I can’t strafe eject across the map and land on top of someone. That is by far one of the best features in the game along with the rest of the movement. That’s the one thing that’s only really possible with stim but it makes it so worth it

My closest friend started streaming the game on mixer and has fell inlove with the game so much he has strted to put together and Airsoft Cosplay of an SRS Vanguard Pilot.
He never knew about the game until maybe a year ago and its became his main game.
He cant bunny hop and isnt a TF God but you dont have to be to enjoy it

Titanfall 3 would have to be before Apex legends since it goes on in the past.
It's still the only game I want to play, it is the only game I play. I want to play TF3.
I *absolutely* forgot that Stim was my favourite ability at the start! (I started just a few months before Apex came out) I bought the Stim addict in Apex and loved him, but I never actually considered Stim still being good in Titanfall. I'll definitely be changing my abilities and gear. Thanks Paper!!

Great content the more I play the game the more I understand your videos.
I play on pc and ever since I downloaded titan fall 2 it’s my favorite FPS shooter of all time. I have a bunch of other games but I keep coming back to TF2 the game feels perfect.
Once you start experimenting with different pilots and weapons you start to learn how in-depth the game is.
People have to learn to think outside the box with this, then they’ll see how great it is.
Honestly I don’t want a TF3, TF2 is perfect I just wish there was more players and be able to play every mode.

The thing I like about your channel compared to someone else I watch is that you actually use photage that is relevant to what you're talking about
The buffing of tactical abilities and the preset titans loadouts are the best innovation that Titanfall 2 made over its predecessor. Being able to change your playstyle game after game is what keeps this game alive for me. I've never stuck to just one ability or weapon. As fun as it is to grapple swing, my favourite loadout is my phase shift, LSTAR, grav star loadout. You can be super aggressive with that setup. Pair it with Scorch on Drydock and it's a blast to use.

Had to reconsider the Holo pilot ability after CC and I got wrecked two nights ago by a guy that used it in crazy ways to get a 45 kill bomb against us. I wouldn’t write it off so quick. There’s a potential there that the vast majority of us haven’t opened up yet. Good to see you back

I find it's best when used like a baseball pitcher changes speed. Someone thinks they have a drop on you, and through a combination of headphones/surround; change of speeds; and basic human nature ("that guy thinks he has the advantage.... That guy thinks I didn't see him, as I go around the corner" etc) when they pursue you.
On human nature - I love when people use Phase Shift - I've gotten pretty good at guessing/following where they come out, and my mastiff makes quick work on em.

Fun fact: pc players have a movement tech not possible with analog controls, called tap strafing. Tap strafing is a byproduct of the source engine which you can use to maintain speed through corners. (I've used it through 90 and even 120 degree corners). There's a tutorial and some discussion on it somewhere (probably Bryonato tbh)
Hey man long time watcher first time commenter, I wanted to say thank you for continuing to make titanfall 2 content. I gotta say though I main invisible pilot and I find that it’s one of the best for learning the wall running mechanics, the way I play is usually fast paced with Smg’s and I fly around while I’m invisible allowing me less cheep deaths. Or I run double take and go for those sweet *glaka-glaka-glaka* shots. I’m on Xbox gt JacobAKAplayer2 you should take another look at invisible pilot they are really underrated

So ya. Most of the abilities are based off of Titanfall. And Gibraltar's abilities are based more off of the A-Wall character except not on steroids. And with Caustic, it was just more of an innovative idea I'm pretty sure so yee

I just found you today bc I looked up titanfall2 on twitch. Your content makes me want to get another xbox and start playing again.
For me it was quite the opposite I went from phase shift to grapple and I was like wait a minute I can’t use my ability in combat I actually have to be better than the guy I’m fighting instead of phasing and catching him off guard about where I am. But the grapple made buildings look more like things that make me go faster instead of something that I have to go around. Then I tried hollow pilot now I was thinking wait I can actually use this in combat but I can’t be as reckless as I can with phase shift I have to think if there’s an enemy in that room and send a hollow pilot through and if it was killed I then know which way he was firing from and kill him.
Keep making these videos man, let's keep titanfall 2 alive for as long as possible. Even though you weren't focusing on cloak, I will say I've been disappointed to see a number of 100.49 gen players maining it with a spitfire and smart pistol and camping and just picking people off and this is bound to put new players off - players we need if this game is going to continue for much longer. I will actually sacrifice wins by inviting new players in attrition to try and help them stick with it despite these cheap tactics used by players who should know better.
Honestly I think the coolest part of each ability is their “unique kill move” and I’m not meaning their execution. I’m meaning anything from grappling a flying pilot into your fist, lodging a sonar knife into one’s head, or phasing into a pilot’s body and making them explode. Playing each ability has it’s prime gimmick to strive for every time you use it. Even with stuff like Cloak or Holo, which doesn’t seem to have any flashy move, instead, you get into their head. You make them so confused that after they die, they actually watch their death replay.
So if your having some issue getting into a new ability, because you still want to win or use “The Meta” don’t forget that everything can be used viably and each ability can reward you just as much as the last, and no matter what anybody says, every ability is viable, and sometimes better than “The Meta” if you use it correctly.
Also no, I don’t consider A-Wall an ability so don’t tell me it is one.
Movement is a massive reason I like to play Titanfall 2 but I also like being called a hacker for getting grenade kills without ordenance expert (or whatever it's called)
I exclusively run Stim for the sake of the Healing, since it is also like a second chance from an engagement, as you said about the Phase, but it also gives me a chance to start the engagement, not just retry or escape

When I use stim it’s like being an actual adrenaline junkie, you can’t get enough action but when you do it feels amazing

Phase shift all day long! I know grappling and stim are probably more effective since phase shift got nerfed down to only 1 charge, but it's just so satisfying slipping through everyone's fingers, disappearing and re-appearing in a dead angle and telefragging campers behind shield walls. No other game lets me do that (Apex phase shift works different) and when TF2 first came out, I thought it was the coolest shit ever and something I would pick in real life. :D

If you have good base movement phase shift is hands down the best imo, you may not be able to always get the positioning that a good grapple player has but you can always just gtfo of an unfavorable engagement and that's pretty huge. There's a reason why gamesager would always get his super high kill, low-no death games while running phase. Though personally i prefer stim for that instant, massive speed boost while wall running. I just love it when someone gets the drop on you but you just "nope" outta there and then continue to slide hop around half the map xD

The funny thing for me is that I tend to use my grapple when I need to like at the beginning at the match, I tend to use windows box’s and everything else as if I never had a grapple

Well the car is a top tier gun so moving to it from an lstar that is considered low tier I'm sure you would see a big improvement in your game. If you really want to be aggressive I suggest also try stim or phase vs invis. Gl

How about some anti titan strategy, some of us (myself included) feel like it's insanely easy, while others think it's massively unbalanced. Maybe tactical has a lot to due with it, running grapple or phase can make you really hard to hit, while a wall, holo, or stim can be pretty easy to track.
You can strafe with grappling?
i normally fire-star or pulse-blade someone as soon as they eject out their titan, a few feet above it, the timing and aiming is very tight but its very rewarding

So so good ... but everyone uses it and it kinda broke the game and made it into a game of hide and seek ...
The movement is what got me to buy the game in the Tf1 beta. And while I love stim and use it often in non titan modes for the most part i still love cloak. Cloak obviously won't directly improve movement but it does free up MANY more paths to choose from that mean you're far less likely to be seen. And because it doesn't directly benefit parkour all the parkour you do can be done the same or better with any other tactical thus improving your parkour overall. The faster you move with it the more safe you'll be as an ultra fast moving active camo target is not always the easiest target.

Doing the same. Just running around, looking for the right time window and then just shooting right out to shoot my enemy in the face. Feels a bit scummy, but once in a while its just fun to blast away some guy from point blank

You know what paper, you really should mess with the wingman elite and the ricochet mod. I like using that with phase and holo nova. Can make for some trickier things if you time it well.
Ive gotten so used to using the walls naturally that i literally dont even use the grapple when i run it lol

I never considered that 90* jumps were hard.. i am no where near as good as you are with the mobility in this game but i can without fail fo the 90* jumps you just have to jump off before the wall ends so you can start strafing earlierand the double jump keeps your height. I aleays thought it was simple so thanks
For casual play such as attrition or PvP i usually stick with grapple, but for getting really down and dirty in ctf I spring for stim.

Not gonna lie I only use phase shift because I can move really well without grapple or stim but grapple and stim are both really fun
I disagree on some parts, but yeah i am way more aggressive with fase shift. Me personally though, i have been using grapple only recently just for the ability to hit top speed multiple times quickly

I honestly think grapple is the best, because stim enhances movement, so if you're movement is garage, nothing to enhance.
Hey paper i just joined your network on xbox i hope you hop on some day and we run into each other. I run strictly stim. A serious advantage you didnt mention is the incresed healing rates i find that if im in the groove and careful i can survive shit that other abilities cant and suprise my opponents. Ie: recently was chasing a scorch and he turned around an fired off his ground pound thermite line not sure if he was aiming at me or somthing else buti see him start the animation so i hit stim and ran right thru it jumped on him and droped my titan as pulled his battery turning him into a pancake and waltzed off no worse for wear. Also i find that sometimes i can book it from one end of the map to anouther on a single stim charge if i know the map and my movement is on point.
I never used grapple to begin with tbh I prefer phase to avoid Titans and trick enemys
i see stim as an easy way for new players to get around while grapple is an easy way for good players to move around while more efficient but harder to use

I got this game not to long ago and I do not have the movement down at all.
Stim was my baby. It always did last a little short...
I use holo because I focus more on messing with peoples heads then movement. I'm decent already so holo makes the game more fun. Especially stealing titan batteries. I pop a holo and run the other way. Or stand still and use a holo do theres 2 just standing there. Kill cams are funny.

its a get out of jail free card. at least for 2 seconds. people can see the outline of phase so you need to be someplace else once its over. Speed.

I stumbled across this game because of Apex and I googled Respawn to see what other games were available. HOLEEE SHEEET!!! Apex Legends is the Fortnite version of this game. Respawn just carved up this masterpiece of a game to make a stupid kid babysitter like Fortnite, known as Apex Legends.
