Turning the Stark heirloom into two Lannister swords was a final, spiteful insult to the Stark family. I loved that, but hated it. Most people are not observant enough to recognise Ice, so well done to Steve.
Why do you think it makes no sense? The Stark sword was so large, there was enough metal in it to make into two blades. Valyrian steel is a very precious thing, because there's not much left of it in the world.
@@PJCLongbeard1979 Lots of people who knows a lot about sword making and metallurgy already picked apart everything wrong about that scene (HINT: that's not how you rework/reforge new swords from bigger ones) , I think you can find them on youtube and reddit . @Ellie lost my lovely lady cat 18 years ago (thyroid problems) having had her as a kitten from when I was a teenager. She was really really affectionate. Writing about her even now makes me miss her
I'm so glad you guys included that whole chicken speech, it's one of my favourite scenes, both really funny and really intimidating, and your reaction was priceless. Keep up the good work Lacey and Steve 😁
Oh I like this! I don't think I've ever seen anyone watch Oberyn's introduction and worry for him because of the Lannisters. It is a genuine thing to worry about because Tywin is a very very dangerous man. Sophie Turner actually despises lemon cakes. Since he's not reading this I feel safe for saying it, but I'll still be discreet. Later on in the season, they kept having to redo the scene and between the lemon cakes and her hands actually being squeezed by the rings the other actress was wearing, her pain is real.
Hi Meg. Sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it can be. I lost my baby, Lambchop, a year and a half ago and I still miss her every day. She was with me for nearly 15 years.
@Krazy MegT - couldn't find you on the other video (posted this same thing there too), but just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts. I lost my cat, Lola, on May 19th 2018, she was 15yrs old (her bday was at the beginning of March, coming up, that's been hard), had been healthy her entire life, her first ever sick visit to the vet was Jan 2016 and after that she started to go up/down with stomach issues/pancreatitis and various other issues. She was my baby and my best friend, she was with me from age 25-40, though SO many hard times in my life, she was my lifeline and my rock. Losing her felt like I was just going to die too. It's absolutely the hardest thing in the world and I'm SO sorry you're having to go through that feeling now with the loss of your baby doberman. If you see my comment, please feel free to reach out - I know you don't know me, but I am more that willing to be an ear (set of eyes?) if you want to just talk about your pup; sometimes just telling others about him/her can just help you think about all the great things that can sometimes be hard to focus on. Sending love your way.
“Two Swords” ... “Cold” open: Ice melted down into two Valyrian Steel swords at the beginning; Ice into Fire .... Arya gets Needle back to close it out.
My favorite part of Arya is that she wants her "victims" to know why they're dying. I hate it so much in series and movies when people who deserve to die don't know why they're dying. It always robs me of the satisfaction of seeing them learn their lesson. Arya makes damn sure they know exactly what they did to deserve this.
That scene with Arya and the Hound is one of my favorites! I’m glad you didn’t cut it up like a lot of reactors do! You do a great job of that with the really good scenes. It makes me so happy! 😁🥰 And it was so awesome of you guys to light that candle for Meg’s dog! I know her sadness and I’m sure it means a lot to her that you guys did that.
Can’t express how much I fuckin love that he loves and appreciates the music and musical cues, Ramin Djawadi is just as integral to the story as the characters
Arya is turning into a little badass assassin. I’m so excited to see Steve’s reaction to this whole season. Especially the next episode and all the parts of the season with Tyrion. I love how Steve predicted that Arya would be the one to end Walder Fray.
Steve's doing fantastic and getting more in tune with the characters as the story moves along, especially Arya's character. Lacey, I love that look you gave to the camera at 4:42 lol. - Yvette

The final scene reaction, love how he knew the moment it started that some SHIT was about to go down! I had that feeling too the first time I saw it, and I was NOT let down, amazing episode, great reaction.
Steve, I have thought well you, but after the way you enjoyed the fight in the inn, you were wonderful. That was just the first episode of season 4 and season 4 is one of the top 2 seasons of GoT. Just my opinion, Be prepared for a heck of a ride. I'm waiting now for episode 2.

The best part is your discussion after every epsiode, and I think you give him good information without spoiling whats gonna happen in the future. Good job and good stuff!
Sansa took Cerseis advice (battle of blackwater) and does not pray anymore. *Oh, shut up, you little fool. Praying for the gods to have mercy on us all? The gods have no mercy, that’s why they are gods. My father told me that when he caught me praying. My mother had just died, you see. I didn’t really understand the concept of death. The finality of it. I thought if I prayed very very hard, the gods would return her to me. I was four.*
Start of the episode, when Drogon turns on his mum for a moment is a throwback to S2E1, when Joffrey turns on his mother in the throne room after she slaps him. Once again, the power dynamic between mother and son is shifting in the son's favour.
I finally caught up with your videos! They're long, but that's great. I like reactors that take the time for discussion, predictions, etc. I've enjoyed watching Steve take this journey, and I look forward to more. You are really good at keeping a straight face and not giving any spoilers. Thank you for these, and I hope amazing happens to you both.
So excited to watch this one!! One of my favorite of the whole series. And this is my favorite season for sure, start to finish, epic..The Final scene in this episode too is one of the most bad ass things i've ever seen. So brutal
Thoughts for the lost puppy dog and family. Our furry members of our family are so important to us, we understand. Great reaction guys. This is one of my favourite episodes for Arya & Hound scenes :) “...gonna have to eat every chicken in this room!” Say or think that every time I have chicken now lol
The symbolism in season/episode openers are so good at foreshadowing. This opener had Tywin Lannister (Lion) burning the skin of Greywind, Robb's dire wolf, which means he skinned him first. (Ok, this happened after the fact, but it's still symbolic) Then, he took Ned's family sword, Ice, and melted it to create two Lannister swords. Season 1 a stag and dire wolf were dead because they tangled with each other, leaving 6 orphaned pups to fend for themselves. *SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN AHEAD OF THE SERIES FROM THIS SEASON ON* It just so happens that Jaime gave his sword to Brienne to find the girls and get them to safety. Brienne used same sword to chop off Stannis's head, therefore getting justice for Robb from Stannis cursing his death with leeches and dark magic, and his head was removed like Robb's was. Ned chopped off an innocent man's head and lost his own by season finale. Roose died like how he murdered Robb. Walder died like how he commanded Cat to die. Ramsey died how he murdered his own new born brother. The sand snake daughter died like Marcella due to the mom. Karma runs rampant through this show.
Ramin the composer is brilliant with the music I saw the game of thrones concert it was amazing!!! So beautiful he did every song that night and won another award
Amazing what you catch when you watch it again, or in this case, when you have a reactor point it out to you. I never realized the change from Stark music to Lannister music in the beginning of the episode. I have only re watched the episodes through reactors, and you Lacey, was the first to mention it that I know of. Brilliant! I think it's time I binge the re watch of GoT. And yes, Steve is the Bran Jr of GoT. I can't believe how intuitive and quite often how spot on he is with predictions. Love your face Lacey when he said that Ice, aka Oathkeeper (and I'm sure Widow's Wail) ;) will eventually return to the Starks! Oh, and such a beautiful gesture for Lavender, RIP sweet one.
Oh wow you did this episode in honor of a beloved soul inside your social family who had passed away! A man can sympathize *alot* on this matter! Growing up, a man had a stray cat when he was just a dreaming little boy, and eventually, some day it was only to obvoius that the cat was indeed pregnant with cubs. (There is a complete story behind _how_ she became our's) She had two boys and one girl (detecting any connections?) .. we had to give the girl and one boy away ... there was no reason to keep them all, we never could had have 'enough' to provide for all three.
Y'all are great! It's so nice to see a reactor not blindly hating Sansa and actually trying to understand what she's going through. She's being held hostage in a place where almost everyone around her is either itching to kill her, beat her, or marry her for her claim on Winterfell. It's understandable that she would be snippy and hate everyone around her, even Tyrion. In her eyes, Lannisters are evil, you can't blame her for having that point of view. I mean, they just killed her father, mother, and brother (and absolutely disrespected the bodies of the last 2). For all she knew, her little brothers and Arya are dead. She is alone. She is a child. She literally has no one. It was extremely admirable for her to be kind to Ser Dontos, even when she was feeling such extreme pain inside. The thing I've always admired about Sansa (especially in the books) was how she could transform the saddest parts of her emotions into kindness and genuine concern for others. It's a great trait to have.
Awwwww shit, starting the best season of the series! Steve, if you thought this show was a crazy ride before, well buckle up. It's about to go into overdrive!
You ought to watch the KFC chicken commercial that the actor who plays the Hound did - just based off of riffing from this scene. It's freakin' hilarious. It's easy to find on TH-cam if you Google Game of Thrones actors and commercials.
I just realized that Cersei says that Pycell smells like a dead cat. Is this statement in the novels? In the novels, a dead cat is thrown at her during her Walk Of Atonement.
Steve your incite to this show is "spot on"! That sword is indeed "Ice" (Ned's sword of Valerian steel). "Cold Opening" and we see Ice....go figure. Welcome to what is arguably one of the best seasons (if not the best) of the show. Enjoy your journey. I'm am sure that we will have fun watching....TC
As much as I love love love the hound chicken scene I've never understood it. They know that's the hound. He's got a reputation. It'd be like Mike Tyson walking into a bar and one of your buddies gets in his face.... none of them went "hey this won't go well for us let's not do this."
I think they were on like a "power high", or they were drunk on power. That is basically what they were talking about how they can do whatever they want since they are "kings men". That, plus they probably assumed that because there were... 4 or 5 of them that they could take him in their drunk on power states LOL
I would watch a spin-off series that was just Arya and the Hound killing people and stealing chickens
Fuck the King!
I am so proud he noticed it was Ned's sword! Not too many people do! That scene always feels like a punch to the gut with Tywin basking in it all

Agreed!!! I definitely LOVE Sansa, and I am glad Steve loves her as well!!! We would be fighting if he didn't LOL
" I dreamt of a maid at a feast......................... "
Great reaction as always! This is still my favorite season opener of GOT :) And this is still my favorite season :)
My condolences to Meg if she's reading. I know the feeling of losing a family dog.
Much love to meg sorry you lost your dog, i lost my cat too awhile ago, keep her in your heart
16:45 And he doesn't even have his right hand anymore to take care of it alone...... :)
Steve finally gets to meet the badass that is oberyn! Maybe my favorite charector
We have faith Steve ; Ice will return home !
( praying deeply , please,please,please )
I got Bronze : (
Steve your incite to this show is "spot on"!
You can nit pick any scene of any show though 🤷🏻♂️
DILLY DILLY! YES!
LOL Bran Junior!
Really enjoy the ending to this episode everysingle time great start to the season just like Steve said .
Great g.o.t. channel. My favorite so far is when he realizes Arya is at the red wedding.
5:11 Hope you guys noticed Jaime was about to say he wanted a life with Cersei.
19:27 Just noticed Olenna asked her girls for a necklace...
