Using the safety straps as a hold down? Genius!

Thanks so much man this video really helped me in the process of choosing racks and finding options for lat pull downs for a rogue rack

Sure thing 👍 their low pulley is also great to connect too. Planning to do a a follow up video on that as well.

So if you only had bumper plates, similar to steel 45s, would that bang your knees when using the straps for lat pulldown?

Mate, what do you think of the trolley /glyder systems out there that attach to the upright ?
    They look interesting
I think you would also need a pulley system too . Might be pricey for both parts

You mean the Rogue Lever arms? Ya, they're fun, but not essential.

    • @ourclarioncall
      @ourclarioncall ปีที่แล้ว

@@CoachVikingVaughn not lever arms , pulley type systems that slide up and down the upright post on a rack . A more sophisticated version of the basic diy lay pull-down or tricep push down
Buffalo bully fab make one , calledtjr bully glyder

@@ourclarioncall Oh, Ive seen the Bully but in my opinion takes up too much value of space needed on a upright.
You'd have to clear a lot of attachments off your rack first just to use it. I still think the Surplus UPS still top tier to this day because it's so easy to set up.

Yeah I do like the surplus , and neat trick with using the strap over the knees for lat pulldowns
The loading pin is handy because it’s small and light and can be moved out of the way
I only have a squat rack at the moment , so there is only two uprights
But I put my spotter arms at the top of the uprights facing backwards, then hung a pulley /rope/loading pin on both sides , one for lats and the other for triceps . And they don’t get in the way of pressing off the j hooks . Really small footprint , and no fussing around moving stuff or changing attachments, everything is set up ready to go like 3 separate stations.
When you look and up the price of say a rogue slinger , a bully glyder and a low row /lat pull-down seat thing your talking about a lot of money , in comparison to other options

Great review! Question please. I will use at the front of my rouge monster rM4 I don’t have space on the sides nor the back. The crossmember from upper crossmember is 84inches I think I can use the hip trust from rogue to stabilize myself correct when doing seated lat pull downs ? Now I will also like to ge the low pulley system but here is the my issue since I will use in the front of the rack I don’t have a bottom cross member to mount to but will like to get the rogue bench prop with the mini feet since is basically a adjustable bottom crossmember. this adjustable crossmember won’t be in line with the upper crossmember of the rack, so will that impact the cable length I will need to order for the low pulley system? If so how will I measure the correct length I will need? Do I need to add a couple of inches?

Rogue's slinger pulley system leaves a lot to be desired, but this is still WAY over priced ($400) for just 27 inches of 3x3 steel, cable, & 2x pulleys.

I could understand why someone would find their price range high. The cheapest solution is Spud Inc’s pulley system.
Personally and professionally with clients, this has been worth every penny for me to easily set up this up in less than 30seconds and is pure USA made quality having now training with it almost two years (I’m perfectly fine paying more money to real USA workers than it going to a cheap Chinese made factory). It saved me from wasting thousands on a cable machine. I’ve seen ALOT of DIY videos with people going absolutely over board with Home Depot cable pulleys on their racks that take well over 30min to set up.

      I like it
I have two d.I.y pulley systems hanging from my squat rack pullup bar.
Very simple to make, a strap, pulley, rope, caribeeners and a loading pin .
Doesn’t even sway too much either .
So much cheaper and space saving
One set up for lat pulldowns and the other for triceps . Warm them both up light/high rep before pressing movements
then , after pressing (main lift) go back and hit them again harder as accessories
      Love the strap idea
