@@moe3343 Ditto. I'm saving about 1/3 of my salaried income after taxes. I've averaged about 25-30% over my adult life. Nice thing is those investments earn money too. Looks like when it comes time to retire, my net worth will be more than I've earned at jobs in my entire life. Roth IRAs rock.

I love that Sheldon is a pain in the ass, yet the guys don’t undermine his abilities. Fact of the matter is Sheldon is multitalented. If he were to drop science some day, he could pursue anything else and be great at it.
I remember reading that Raj would be earning about $100,000. He’d have been fucking minted if he earned that while his parents covered all expenses 😂
Look I know this show came out over half a decayed ago but one they live in California its apparently one of the most expensive places to live in the US, two Raji has been shown through out the show being relaxed with spending money and three although it comes as a shock in the show its hinted in previous seasons that he lives beyond his means, I cant recall exact episodes but he dated a gold digger who he bought a luxury gifts including an expensive neckless and played of her credit card det his parents cut him off and when he told her that they would have to return the gifts she broke up with him.

Sheldon Leonard was such an influence on the history of TV (Andy Griffith, I Spy, Dick Van Dyke Show, The Danny Thomas Show) they named the 2 characters after him.

From what I gathered, what they were describing was not a sociopath but full blown psychopath. Sociopaths may hurt others, but I think they do it more out of lack actually giving a crap about it. Psychopaths, on the other hand, don't just have that lack, they take genuine pleasure in other's pain.
I'd say you are right. Sheldon does enjoy when others are hurting. And more so if he is the reason for the hurt.

He doesn't really lack empathy but rather has difficulty dealing with that aspect of people. Proof of this is his inability initially notice sarcasm, which he developed later on.
And doesn't enjoy watching people suffer but rather enjoys seeing the rules by which he rules his life and believes should rule all life winning.
The producers never put a label, but Sheldon is essentially the archetype of autism. Bad with human interaction and hates when the order of his world gets broken.

Unpopular opinion - I actually like Raj's clothes. I much prefer them to Sheldon's for a start, and he has the nicest haircut out of all of them by far.

These scenes that involve Raj's financial situation are ones that I truly hate tbh.
His family is said to be between Bruce Wayne and Scrooge. That means his family is worth multi-billions.
And then you have scenes where his parents complain that they are paying for his rent in the US. I think that the writers do not realize how much even one single billion is. (Watch Reckful explain how much 1(one) billion is for more context).
They could literally be giving Raj 500k a year and for that to make even a dent in their fortune it would take over 100 years. (And yes I am also including his brothers and sisters).

While other show focusing on their toxicity relationship to make their episode funny, or just making jokes about s**, this show always focusing on our daily life problem
What didn’t make sense about this episode is that Raj was not gonna afford basic luxuries, like car rent and take out. Astrophysicists make about 120k a year. Even in Pasadena, that’s a decent amount. The apartment he lived in couldn’t have been more than 2k a month. His car was a sedan that probably retailed around 35k. Even if his utilities were higher than average he wouldn’t have bills the were higher than 2k total a month. And the man makes 10k a month. That gives him like 5k in disposable income.
If Raj’s car truly got around 7 MPG like he said or any similarly abysmal figure, that sedan would probably have to be a high powered import I’d imagine which would cost much more than the figure you chose at 35k. I’m not at all saying you’re wrong. However, I do think that the number you chose is very conservative and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was actually 50k or higher
@@10293 doubtful, the car is hard to identify from the show, but it looks very similar to a Mitsubishi Galant. Those retailed around 30k, but hasn’t been made since 2012. Regardless, even if it retailed for 50k, he isn’t paying much more than $500 a month. My point is, he is well within his means, if he just cuts out the luxuries like couples massages with his foo foo dog, etc.
@@MaddawgMar regardless, my point was is that even if they show a Mitsubishi Galant, those doesn’t get anywhere near that terrible mileage, so if there is a grain of truth in what Raj is saying, that means that his car is something that uses a lot more fuel than a gallant, and therefore probably had a much higher cost to lease. It wouldn’t be the first time that Hollywood just uses a car that’s not really accurate to what they want to portray but at the same time isn’t overly important because it doesn’t play a large role or get seen very clearly. Basically, if he’s leasing something expensive, it can take a ridiculously high amount of his income monthly especially if it’s a lease with not very good terms which I wouldn’t be shocked if a dealer could con him into.
