- It doesn't happen often, but there are times when the one and only Sheldon Cooper (with an IQ of 187) makes mistakes at work, with his friends, and in his relationship. Sometimes he apologizes for his blunders and other times he's too embarrassed.
S01E12 - The Jerusalem Duality
Dennis Kim, a child prodigy seems to have outstripped Sheldon's achievements in every way. Sheldon decides to give up his own work and focus on other tasks.
S01E05 - The Hamburger Postulate
Sheldon wakes up to a terrible surprise; the equations on his whiteboard had been tampered with. Although it solved the problem he had, he was still infuriated. Shortly after that, Leslie admits that she had corrected his equations.
S01E13 - The Bat Jar Conjecture
The gang competes Caltech's Physics Bowl. Leonard made the decision to drop Sheldon from the team and add Leslie Winkle to take his place.
S04E21 - The Agreement Dissection
Sheldon is frustrated at Priya's nullification of the Roommate Agreement using her knowledge of the law and contracts.
S04E18 - The Prestidigitation Approximation
Priya feels threatened by Leonard hanging out with his ex-girlfriend Penny all the time. Meanwhile, Sheldon attempts to figure out Howard's magic trick.
S03E02 - The Jiminy Conjecture
Guys find a cricket in their apartment and each claims it to be a different species. They decide to make a bet before catching it and bringing it to an entomologist at Caltech.
S05E21 - The Hawking Excitation
Sheldon finally gets to meet Hawking in person. When they meet, Hawking points out an arithmetic error in Sheldon's paper that makes the whole paper incorrect, causing Sheldon to faint.
S06E04 - The Re-Entry Minimization
Amy and Penny are playing Pictionary against Leonard and Sheldon. Sheldon's drawing concepts and guesses are too complicated and confusing for Leonard and the girls win.

the part where the janitor answers the question was both awesome but also made me sad. it reminded me of what my family and other families went through when we left the Soviet Union. people who were rocket scientists and physicists were cleaning houses and just trying to get by until they could learn the language and try to get their diplomas in order. this was in Israel but still really difficult at that age.

I met many Russian physicists and astronomers when I was at NASA. Brilliant. They had to go through a lot to be allowed to work on physics. If you have ever opened a Russian physics textbook (translated), you would know that getting through the first 2 pages was an achievement.

Jim Parsons is a remarkable actor. Have you noticed how he almost always has the hardest lines to remember yet can bring them flawlessly... unless the unsuccessful tries wind up on the blooper reel but it't doesn't seem to be that often. Amazingly talented...
He also doesn't laugh when the others mess up a line - very controlled. He was terrific in Netflix 'Hollywood'.
I love that Stephen Hawking not only agreed to be on the show, but has a great sense of humor!

I love the part about the card trick, where Sheldon doesn’t even consider that they are cheating … he does it briefly and they get a lucky break with the 2 of hearts but then reassumes there is something else but cheating involved
You missed the big one, in 8-2, when both Sheldon and Howard mix up the two most basic terms in engineering - Strength and Stiffness, and nobody gets the joke.
I couldn't deal with sheldon.. he lost the quiz bowl just because he can't handle someone else being correct... I could never be friends with someone like him

My favorite lines are, "'Not knowing is part of the fun'. What's that? The motto of your community college?" (this killed me) and "If I don't know then you don't know, that's axiomatic". Oh, and "We're not talking Oxnard at the beach. No. We're talking Oxnard in the onion fields." As having worked in Oxnard, this line was totally unexpected (most TV shows, except Rockford Files, never mention Oxnard) and hysterical.
As someone who grew up near Ventura, I also appreciated the burn against Oxnard even if 99.9% of the audience didn't know what he was talking about lol. Of course I still have a bunch of relatives in Fillmore, so maybe I shouldn't throw stones (but at least they have oranges and avocados!).

In the 1980s, this lookalike was named Raul Chato Padilla and appeared in multiple episodes of El Chapulín Colorado. Remarkably, they both have the same manner of speaking and sound identical, albeit in English and Spanish. They share a strong resemblance both in appearance and voice.
Lewis Black’s cameo was the greatest thing that came out of this show. He’s a comedic genius.

Fun fact: When Sheldon was sleeping on the couch, his head was to the door, but in the episode where "The Whore of Omaha" takes over Penny's apartment and Penny needs to stay with Leonard and Sheldon, Sheldon tells Penny that she's sleeping wrong, and that her head must be away from the door.
