They are all part of the LGBTQ community and they did this in response to the murder of 49 people at the Gay nightclub called Pulse in Florida. Mitch and Scott are Superfruit which they started as a side project of Pentatonix. Mario opens for them often. Brian is a friend as is Mary
This song was actually how I was introduced to Pentatonix! Looked up Brian to see what he'd been up to after AGT and was absolutely floored by all of them - not just the talent, but also how they chose to use their voices to spread hope and love in response to hate! "Hallelujah" was in the previews and a Pentaholic was born - I really enjoy getting to see someone else having that moment, since I can't erase my brain and go back and do it again :-) Thanks!
Ahh yes! This is one of my favorite versions of this song. You can see that all of the singers are feeling the meaning of this song and their skill on performing it is excellent! Truly glad you reacted to this Rebecca, and glad that Kevin Soster requested it. 😊
Rebecca you are looking swell;-) thanks for reacting to superfruit! I love these guys!Scott Hoying is really a musical genius! Everything he touches turns gold. And Mitch(the one in a beanie) has a very unique voice. Slay sis!:)
First singer: Scott Hoying, of Pentatonix and SuperFruit. Scott is a lyric baritone whose range extends well into both the bass and tenor ranges. Second singer: Mitch Grassi, also of both Pentatonix and SuperFruit. Mitch is a counter tenor with a range of over 6 octaves. And despite his successful career in Pentatonix he's still insecure about his voice due to the bullying he suffered for it in high school. I know less about the other three, save that all five of these singers are members of the LGBTQ+ community. Third singer: Brian Justin Crum. Fourth singer: Mario Jose. Fifth singer: Mary Lambert. Their description of the video reads: "As music artists we are given an incredible platform with which to reach the world. One of the most inspiring and rewarding aspects of our job is the ability to make a difference in people's lives. In keeping with the spirit of why we pursued our dreams as music artists, and the positive impact we aspired to have on others, we decided to make this video with some of our closest friends in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and all of our fans who love unconditionally and see no barriers. For anyone who has ever felt pride in who they are, and for anyone who has ever doubted the power of your own uniqueness, this video is for you. It warms our hearts to finally be able to share this with you!! xoxo Scott, Mitch, Mary, Mario, Brian"
I appreciate the interplay/layering of their voices and individual timbres in those harmonies. They blend beautifully. Great harmonies and equally great posture! 😉 Wonderful reaction as always Rebecca. 😊❤🎶
I just found your react video, and I 💖 it! I could see the emotions wash over you in this video, and it was wonderful to watch. And I loved your skill breakdown! But even more, i loved that you were also breathless at the end, as we all were. Keep them coming, and I can't wait to see more of your videos! Peace+Love+Music
Awesome video. You can tell they were all singing from the heart. You're reactions always add to my goosie meter. felt it right up the back of my neck.
I would love it if you reacted to Avi's new group, Avriel and the Sequoias song, Fields and Pier. Kevin from PTX did the cello work, and he had to tone his cello down to match Avi. It's a beautiful song.
Oh you definitely need to react to Pentatonix's cover of Hallelujah! SUPERFRUIT (Scott and Mitch) are a part of PTX, and their version of that song is just magical!
I know that my fellow Pentaholics will be telling you about Scott & Mitch, (and with 219 comments, clearly already have) :-) so I'll tell you about Brian, who indeed sang that amazing version of Creep - and just this week was on America's Got Talent: The Champions with an astonishing take on Sir Elton's "Your Song". Mario Jose has lots of videos around TH-cam, you can't go on with any of them. I recommend a duet he did with our own Scott Hoying called "Lost On You". For a totally different style from Mary Lambert, check out her "Secrets", a song she wrote.
Like one of PTX's live version of a song (sorry can't remember which). He had like pinkish hair and I think it is in Pittsburgh. (Sorry I have memory problems, but he went extremely high!)
So good. Those high notes from Mitch are just ASMR to me, they start singing and the chills don't stop. Hope you react to more from Pentatonix and Superfruit. Love it
Super, especially I like, the message of encouragement on your wall, a wonderful positive spirit. I think you're wearing it so you're so emotional in the soul.
Again, LOVE YOUR REACTION! The harmonies are absolutely amazing. Even with no bass or baritone, it is a beautiful blend. Thanks for your inputs and discussions on this version. Have a blessed day!
when you're a musician and see an absolutely marvellous group (even temporary) completely killing a piece - you want to play with them! i'm not that accomplished a singer, but i can keep accurate pitch and love doing the oddball harmonies - i miss playing!
Arhh I love how you are not afraid to get emotional, this song always gives me chills at the end :) Also, still waiting for the reaction to Minseo - Yes (Dingo Music live ver.) :)
I love your reactions as a professional, you're able to appreciate the talent and musicianship of these people. My only critique would be for most reactors. I wish you'd noticed the msg left before watching the video. So far I've only seen 2 read it and understand this song is in memorial. I think it would lend a deeper meaning for all of you reacting.
OMG if you like Brian you totally should check out his cover of Creep!! It was on America's Got Talent and it was so amazing that the audience was totally silent before the applause.
Could you please react to Vincent Cannady cover Creep, on the show the Four!? It really is a great performance and gives me chills every time. It would be a dream come true Edit! He’s actually friends with Mario, and Mario is seen watching this performance in the stands!!
"I just want to play with them!" - heh, I can relate. I sang well enough for my babies, but would never dare open my mouth around them or y'all - but would love to have y'all over to our house for dinner and drinks and just listen to the ensuing jam session :) Lovely reaction, thanks for sharing!
I’ve been binge watching your videos, love your reactions! I’m so late but you should react to Brian justin crum’s cover Creep from AGT! So soso good..
Have long been familiar with Scott & Mitch, from Superfruit & Pentatonix. Mario has done much back-up, toured, and has even been out front with PMJ. I'm not familiar with the other two, but yes they are all true VA's.
This makes me cry every time. I suggest that you react to Mary Lambert's solo video, "She Keeps Me Warm". It's a spinoff from her collaboration with Macklemore, "Same Love". Either is a treat to watch/listen to.
Great video, huh, Avia? Always enjoy your reactions. If you can fit it in, I have a suggestion for you. I know you don't usually do multiple videos (?)at least I have not seen you do any. '10 preformances that made the judges cry on the voice.' Particularly the 2nd singer. I think you'll really enjoy that one. I absolutely loved it. The emotions I went through were unreal. That singer is an absolute (pardon) fucking beast! Holy moly, my heart is pounding just thinking about it. Doesn't usually happen to me like that. Anyhoo, there you have it. Think about it and thank you for the reactions.
You absolutely have to react to Angel City Chorale singing Baba Yetu! They sang it on America’s for talent. I get chills every time. Chords especially when done well make me so happy!!!! They knock it out of the park!
They are all part of the LGBTQ community and they did this in response to the murder of 49 people at the Gay nightclub called Pulse in Florida. Mitch and Scott are Superfruit which they started as a side project of Pentatonix. Mario opens for them often. Brian is a friend as is Mary
i’m absolutely obsessed with this cover. all of the singers fit perfectly. one of the first that came out when I became a part of the fandom.
You should definitely react to Scott Hoying and Mario Jose's cover of Lost on You by LP.

This song was actually how I was introduced to Pentatonix! Yeah, Brian was on America's Got Talent, where he sang Creep! That's probably where you remember him from.
Im actually kind of surprised when I saw she hadnt done a video for his performance. Would have loved to have seen it.
Mary gives me chills at the end every time!
I cannot listen to this without tears. This is an explosive expression of need. Amazing.
Ahh yes! This is one of my favorite versions of this song. You can see that all of the singers are feeling the meaning of this song and their skill on performing it is excellent! Truly glad you reacted to this Rebecca, and glad that Kevin Soster requested it. 😊
More Superfruit please!!!
Evolution of Lady GaGa is a great one!
Brian is now on AGT Champions. He sang "Never Enough." Incredible.

I have been addicted to that video for such a long time and thanks to you I found my way back to it❤🥀 just made my day
Yayyy more Superfruit 😍😍😍😍🔥
Superfruit is Mitch and Scott of Pentatonix. Brian Justin Crum
is on America's Got Talent. 😊
Actually he is BRIAN JUSTIN CRUM.
No matter how many times I watch this cover, I get goosebumps.. Loved your reaction once again ✌️❤️
Love it when you stare very seriously into the camera with a “Did you hear that” look. And your accent ❤️
I'm so glad you recognized Mitch's technical prowess. He has such a healthy sound, and his control of his voice is masterful.
Thanks again Rebecca for bringing the shine to a somewhat dull day. Great song!
Brian’s version of creep is incredible the silence in the audience when he finished says it all xxx
Mario was in the audience, when his friend Vincint competed on The Four. Vincint also sang Creep and did awesome.
I love seeing you’re absolutely pure passion and love for music
Wonderful reaction, as usual. Their voices give me goosebumps.
Pleaseeeee react to Scott and Mario’s cover of LPs Lost On You! It’s SO good 😍

Ah. I’m glad Kevin is still pals with Avi.
Oh you definitely need to react to Pentatonix's cover of Hallelujah! SUPERFRUIT (Scott and Mitch) are a part of PTX, and their version of that song is just magical!
