Andy Serkis recently released a sample of his narration of The Silmarillion that's releasing next week. I decided to score it, in a fashion inspired by Howard Shore. Made in MuseScore 4.
    Thanks for watching!

@@monoverantus I think Musesounds really shines in this example! But it's also because your orchestration is on point. Please make more of these!

I still prefer Martin Shaw's version. 😅 There's something about his cadence and pace that makes it perfect for this style of writing. It's almost like poetry. Andy Serkis' is better suited to LOTR trilogy and The Hobbit.

I've yet to listen to either, but I've heard that you're not alone. I figure it's fun to hear Andy redo his Gollum voice in The Hobbit and LotR X D

Nice work Monoverantus! Which Sound Library and DAW do you use for that?

    • @monoverantus

This is just made in MuseScore 4 and their standard Muse Sounds. I've spend the last half year getting used to it after years of Finale (which isn't very good)

@@monoverantus Ahh Finale is awful in my opinion haha. Never got used to it. I used Sibelius for many years but i got a little tired of its bugs and interface. I've switched to MuseScore and then Dorico, which is the top software and interface for it, although Muse4 is doing incredibly nice and is a good alternative. I would say Sibelius is 3rd place now.

Hehe, not really. There's only been two short clips released, so I'm just trying to catch the right mood.
