No, there are two endings. The bliss ending and the "Hans! Get ze Flamethrower!" Ending. There are 4 things you can find to get the second one. But you only need to find 2 of them.
@@Airierthere is actually a fourth, but it requires a Whole bunch of things to be done in specific ways in both chapters and some really rough choices made as well as taking no shrooms for power, and i won’t describe it any further because it is sort of like the ending of Getting Over It, if you didnt get there yourself, you basically are not supposed to know its there… but there is indeed a third
You might consider it an incredibly dark horror game but it's actually just a simulator of rural Poland. I know, I'm speaking from a life-long experience.
Arier: "I dont do well with horror." A few minutes into the video: "i immediately regret this decision" Also, yeah, german bedtime stories are a lot. "Max und Moritz" ends with two kinds being ground up and fed to ducks.
i remember watching Markiplier play this game back in the day even now this game has perfect "atmosphere" the sound, the look, just that right level of unsettling.
Nothing has quite the same feel as turning a fairy tale into something with horror elements or something that just *is* horror. Looking at you, Leaf. Freaking overgrown housefly... Bramble: The Mountain King also comes to mind.
to share a story of dread and what makes this game so great, ill quote a different review of the game that sums up, imo opinion, the best part of the game. "You can't predict the night" because the nighttime, has no rhyme or reason, you can't tell when or what is going to happen, and that unpredictability makes it amazing. i was once sitting in my safe spot in the second safehouse. I learned in my previous playthrough that, some enemies can be tricked, if you move a large cabinet in front of a door and block it, most will walk by, not taking their time to break the thing down... however, as the night progressed, two events happened at once, one, was the spawning of a very dangerous enemy, who can't break down things, but will open the doors not barricaded, and becomes a real problem if he gets in, as he forces you to either run away and spend your night avoiding him, or wasting resources on what he does. i didn't think much of it, until i heard the sound of furniture moving, and i quickly realized "its moving the cabinet away from the door." sure as shit, the door opens, and i quickly slam it shut, having the stranger push his back against the door to keep it out. just as this began, i hear knocking on the front door. now, knocks on the front door is an event where, you can either answer, and potentially receive a gift... or dont and have your door broken. this was my first night in area two, i didnt have the resources to fix it, as i was having a terrible time finding wood to make boards. so, im left with a choice, go for the front door and risk the other monster entering, or lose out on supplies, and lose my front door for the night. it was a genuinely scary but enjoyable moment, as i knew either option had a bad outcome.
You should definitely watch the darkwood story by "beam buddy" in your free time. (If your still interested that is) 😅 Underrated horror story with some nice twists and an explanation on what the being is and how it got to the forest. ❤ (It a 1 and a half hour long vid so I doubt you'll react to it😅)
Revk has a good hour long video called "Darkwood is the horror game you don't want to play" that'll be a good watch. It's a more in detail look at the story and what not. Y'know, just... if you ever feel up to it.😈
If you want to rest with something familiar, there is that MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries video by the channel Warlocracy. In the video he narrates his campaign while explaining the his decisions in game and the setting of battletech in broad strokes.
I definetly disagree on the falling off during chapter 2 comment. Not only does the story/atmosphere make up for it but the spike in difficulty also just adds to the "I want to get out" drive we should have.
I still remember the let's play I watched years ago. Ask me about the wedding *BIG HAPPY SMILE stretching from ear to ear* Go on ask. It's fine everything's fine.
the being came from space by the way. the reviewer probably didn't look closely at all the items, there's an item you can look at that talks about the night when "stars fell from the sky" and it's also implied the shiny rocks you find everywhere might be pieces of a meteor the being came down on. the being is probably an infant god, you can see the shape of a fetus in the bright light it emits. There's also a LOT of deepest lore surrounding the trader. It goes a lot deeper than the reviewer made it sound. You should watch a lore video.
I highly recommend Mandaloregaming's review of this game. Mandalore is a master of dry humour, and his reviews are genuinely excellent, covering visuals, sound, story, gameplay and so on with (IMO) a perfect balance of simplicity and detail, all mixed in, again, with his fantastic sense of humour.
Hey Airier! If you ever get the chance I highly recommend you react to There Is No Antimemetics Division by Andrea Joshua Asnicar, its a SCP horror series.
Conditional recomendation: if you want to experience Darkwood at its all time scariest, the very first playthrough should be done on Nightmare (death = game over). Sure, that run won't go anywhere far, but that nervewracking feeling is impossible to replicate on subsequent runs.
I can't remember if it was game grumps or Markiplier I saw playing through this game. Although I think what I saw might have been a pre-release version. 🤔🤷♂️
@@Airier it is fully out now and has 2 story dlc's it is a ok spooky game that is not too bad on the scary bits and has a lot of Easter eggs from other games might give it a go for halloween 😁
I know you mostly react to videos but if you haven't seen the films already I beg react to the Cornetto and Blood trilogy! Edgar Write, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are Comedy Geniuses!!! The trilogy goes in the following order, Shaun of the Dead (Strawberry Cornetto), HotFuzz (Classic Cornetto) and The Worlds End (Mint Cornetto). They are masterfully shot, and every little detail no-matter how irrelevant they may seem will be circled back to in the most hilarious way and all three films have no right to be as funny as they are.
Yeah, this game is just all kinds of screwed up even to this day, Markiplier played this a LONG time ago & all I can say is that this game is just a nightmare fever dream of spore filled eldritch madness.

Every time you look at something scary it makes me want to write something with horror elements. So thank you for urging me to write more.
The look of regret and horror on your face is hilarious. Really enjoy your videos dude but it's so funny when you exit your comfort zone

This was one of my early steam purchases way back in the day. I never finished it. I'm not good at survival games.
