I know I'm not going to play through the game, and in situations like that (there are many) I find lore videos like yours absolutely invaluable. I feel like I just experienced an incredible story that I wouldn't have otherwise. Thanks man.
I'm sorry for any mispronunciations of the Polish names in this video. I looked up pronunciations and tried by my best when saying them, so hopefully they're not too bad! Also, I'm far from perfect, so some errors may have made their way into the video. I apologize in advance for those and hope they don't detract from the viewing experience too much! Thanks for watching!
@@SquatchGamingChannel He hired a whole team of animators, voice actors etc. But he is also known for extensively explaining and making a lot of references, so this adds up immensely ^^
It's probably longer than a season for a lot of TV shows. That's so crazy. Lol. Kudos to him for finishing it (like he cares what some random dude online has to say about it)
@@SquatchGamingChannelYou're both content creators, it's kind of your and their whole job to care about what some random person on the internet has to say about the content lol. That being said, I enjoyed your vid.
This game is incredible for not entirely relying on the fear of the unknown. Pretty much everything can be explained for why its happening but regardless of knowledge every night feels like a fight for your life. The ambience and suspense you can feel at night rarely changes, but your knowledge does increase. You go from hiding in a corner in the Dry Meadow to roaming the hall with a shotgun, a pistol, and a shovel ready to fight for your life while being on the verge of pissing your pants. Moral of the story: Face your fears, respect the woods, be patient, focus.
As per usual, the wait was worth it! This is some top notch stuff, man. Great editing, voiceover work and writing. Darkwood is a fascinating game. I remember first seeing the PS4 launch trailer and being really drawn in by the atmosphere and aesthetic. Having now played through it a few times on PC, it might be one of my favorite survival horror games.
The part about the asteroid that fell from the sky and made plants and stuff grow in an exponential rate reminds me a bit about that story from Lovecraft, called "The Color Out Of Space" wich is very cool. The cursed forest and some other elements reminds me some slavic horror and Blair Witch wich i really like. I particularly didn't enjoy the gameplay because suvival games aren't my thing, but the atmosphere was awesome! Great video, Like!
i’m glad this game is finally getting the attention that it deserves, i usualy gate-keep lots of things but this game man, everyone including my grandmother needs to know about it, greatest horror oat i’m keeping my opinion to the grave
i adore this game, no jump scares, just atmosphere. As i play i try to piece together the story but i still dont really know whats going on, just focusing on surviving a night.
Great video man. Pyro's video length was so daunting that I didn't come around to watch it (I probably will later on), so I'm glad you made a summary on a game with lore as interesting as Darkwood.
Very cool vidéo ! It's nice to have the all the outcome of the choice summarized here as it's really not the kind of game i would hope to replay instantly x)
Thank you for making this video, I never heard of this game until now and you explaining the story and lore of this game made me want to continue watching until the video was over. Keep making videos like this, their great!
I really enjoy your videos timelines and stories to listen to while at work. Bit of a request for a game I’ve heard a rough amount about and has intrigued me is the series called “Might and Magic”. Id love to see a video of yours covering that topic. Its hard to find a decent one.
That's so great to hear. Thanks so much for watching/listening, man! Really appreciate it! Aren't there like 9 games in that series? I don't know, man. I might be working on that for like 2 years. Lol. I'll look into it, but no promises! Thanks for the request, man!
@@SquatchGamingChannel thats the problem for me though. I have no idea about anything in the series but the story sounds like something that would be right up my alley. Trying to figure out any of that seems like an undertaking that i wouldn’t be able to even figure out. I don’t expect anything. Just tossing it out there.
23:37 something I do know is that this is a dream encounter you can beat and you get rewarded for it, I think you can beat other dream encounters for rewards but I don't know how many if any at all
This reminds me of an old book series about the Chtoor. By David Gerrold. Anyway, it's an alien invasion story where the "enemy" is an alien biome infecting earth and changing more and more of it into their world.

Your pronunciation is very good. Greetings from poland
You did good with the pronunciations.
Ah yes, finally a Darkwood Video that isn’t 8:26:55 h long
For real pyro was insane for that
Jfc. I didn't know about that video. That's insane. How do you even talk about anything for 8 hours??? Lol

I genuinely enjoy your style of story telling so much, it's very relaxing
Oh shit another one, Darkwood fans eating crazy
This ain't shizz compared to deffy or Pyro (wtf), but hopefully people enjoy
Thanks for watching!
Nah it's still really good@@SquatchGamingChannel

Another Squatch W video as always. Always happy to see you post new stuff i've been watching since the hotline miami videos.
You are absolutely amazing, man! Great video, dude.
Love the effort you put into these videos, and your explanations all are good too!
Yes! Finally! I have been waiting for this game to be reviewed and the lore explored for years! You’re awesome!
i’m glad this game is finally getting the attention that it deserves, i usualy gate-keep lots of things but this game man, everyone including my grandmother needs to know about it, greatest horror oat i’m keeping my opinion to the grave
One of the best and most criminally underplayed horror games of all time.
10 seconds in and I’m already relaxed, you should do one of Gunbrella, I feel that it would be an enjoyable experience for all
just don't fall asleep

Feels a lot like the Southern Reach book series. And it's great. I'd love some books about this, with the view of both in and outsiders.
Love this game! Reminds me so much of Annihilation and the other Southern Reach trilogy books! I’m sure that they were inspired by it for the game.
Me see darkwood lore video, me be happy
I’m glad you covered this game it’s one of those games where I’m too focused on survival then the story
Thank you for making this video, I never heard of this game until now and you explaining the story and lore of this game made me want to continue watching until the video was over. Keep making videos like this, their great!
Definitely need to go back and play this.
Glad to see you back😌
Yay. Finally a new video. Glad I had my notification bell on lol.
Yeah, sorry about the wait! You won't have to wait nearly as long for the next one, but it'll be *really* short.
Thanks for the video man 👏
Not one but two fantastic darkwood videos? Im eating good 👍

The last time I came this early, I ended up with my 5th child!
5? Wow
Get ready for no. 6 😅
Bruh 😂😂😂
10/10
Oof
Couldn't pull out of a driveway...😅
Even after the pyro video I'm still down to watch your awesome content 👍
Welcome back to Slopwood
Sleepwood
Woooooooo I love this channel
Reminds me of the ttrpg Degenesis with Eshaton, primer and chakras
Squach did it better than pyro. Either way, I’m loving how much attention this game is getting now. It used to be so underrated.
23:37 something I do know is that this is a dream encounter you can beat and you get rewarded for it, I think you can beat other dream encounters for rewards but I don't know how many if any at all
Now this is what I needed.

happy for another video
Happy you watched! Hope you enjoyed!
this game deserves some animated series or other adaptation
Oh boy I cant wait to eat some dark wood
That top view is certainly a choice....
0:00 Darkwood reference
yay squatch
Like the white substance from the anime " to your eternity " ?
been wondering when you'd get to this one
Long time coming, but it's finally here! Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed it a lot, always a pleasure to listen to horror lore
When I found out I could dodge enemy attacks by using ctrl.. I had a much easier time fighting enemies
If you are one of us, addicted to kislux this show, please gather here
We really need a darkwood 2
you really need to oil up
Ngl pyro should learn some things from you
I didn't buy it to resell, I bought it kislux to own and wear. And to be honest, they look so similar, I'd rather buy a fake kislux .
Wow
another darkwood video, gooners unite
Goons together strong
< ( = w = ) >
I wanted to love this game but its way too slow even for me, and I watch David Lynch movies.
Coffee and cigarettes? What a great movie
Is it me or is the doctor’s wife a dude in a dress ?😅
Well it definitely is a spooky game for little ones and that is bad in the modern world.
Pyro did it better
Hop off squatch gaming. He's the whole reason i got into Hotline Miami. He's a GOAT!!!
any yappers?
Simp
Deffy too
Maybe, but Squatch is 2% the size of Pyro's channel. For his channel's size, Squatch does a damn great job making lore and story summaries.
