- It's hard to believe that Rugal is the only boss that'll haunt the Boss challenge mode of KOF XV. It is safe to assume that other SNK iconic villains will be added to it eventually. And this video lists 10 bosses that I wish to face in this mode.

I want mr karate to be in this game as a boss, but I'd like it to be Ryo. Not only it would be a nice reference to the first ever crossover in a fighting game, it also fits the art of fighting team canonically ending
perhaps as Mr. Karate 2?
I would love to see Shion again, but even though 3d animation might do him justice nothing will top their XI animations. Those were probably among the greatest sprites at the time.

I honestly think the whole challenge mode honestly sounds quite interesting. Also it gives the fans another chance to see these older kof villians or other snk villians which is quite cool in my opinion. They honestly shouldn’t have done like this but yet they did. As for people complaining this mode messing with the lore and stuff it’s a tad silly. Because it’s not canonical it’s just a challenge mode to see if you can beat the opponent. But then again, people have different opinions and we can agreed to disagree. I’m not going to pick up the game, but I’m happy for those who want to play this game. All the past dead characters came back to life .... even people from samurai shodown which takes place in the 1500 to 1800s . Guidel ,leona biologicial father
Was hinted at , CYS are back , a boss from Samurai shodown was shown ,technically ronnet the wife of takuma sakazaki should be alive , rugal Bernstein was stated to have a deceased brother.

Yeah she has all the cheap moves, just that her AI is too passive, same thing with Orochi. If they go full aggressive like other bosses they might even go pass the lovable Igniz.
Tbh i hate her ai because it's easy but boy i saw a mod of her and she could do a Single combo and drain your health

I honestly would want to see already existing playable characters turn into bosses. Like Kyo and IOri would be like their 99 secret battle where you could unlock NESTS Kyo and Classic Iori outfit respectively, or Wild Ambition Ryo with the Mr. Karate II or even Goddess/Princess Athena for Athena.
Dark Ash would be a pretty easy one to do. All you really need to do is buff his attacks, and change his clothes and fire effects black. Also, if they wanted to bring in a Classic Ash costume, this would be the perfect place to do it.
I wish to see, in Boss Challenge mode, three characters that never appeared in a canon game: Nameless and a newly resurrected Gaidel (Leona's father) and Jeff Bogard (everyone knows him).

I fought Kuroko many times back in the day….VERY HARD INDEED!(worked and managed at one of my local arcades for a bit) The fact he had Ryo’s fireballs was scary. Seeing him and Mizuki again would be great! Don’t forget their music for maximum effect.😊
I think Silber would be a really cool boss, though I hope he gets a couple more flashy moves since he doesn't seem to have all that many. He's already kind of an SNK version of Akuma, so I think he should be treated more like it

Alongside Maki I think Kusanagi would be a good pick considering that krohnen aka k9999 referenced him. Also Kusanagi loves to test his strength against other opponents

@@saiko_oro I've heard in Neo Geo Heroes ultimate shooting, we get some look into Kusanagi's personal life, well, lack of one. He exists solely when Chizuru needs him to, and usually is erased afterwards. Perhaps maybe some villain could offer Kusanagi an 'out' of that situation, that'd be dope.

I never knew you have a sadistic side when it comes to SNK bosses.XD I actually never heard of King Leo or Savage Rain in general but I can tell from the footage you used that King Leo has that SNK Boss Syndrome going. Really hate to see how they will integrate KOF’s mechanics into him should it be possible to fight bosses other than Regal. Btw, thanks so much for another thrilling SNK list. :)

13:00 - Many KOF players knew that the best way is to get up close and personal and whip her like a sack of potatoes, and don't go too far or she'll waste you. That's the beauty of the SNK Boss Syndrome today. :D. The same with the Omega Rugal from Hell. Make him think that you're hitting him and he'll try to block your punches and kicks with his face, but it's dangerous considering how competent Rugal can be if you give him a chance to get stylistic.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about Shion. Everything about *him* is just perfect.
8. I've been a fan of Ron for ages. He really needs a playable appearance. Ron, Lin, and Duo Lon. Make it happen.
If Ron is playable or a Boss, Reunite him with Origianal Zero, & Krizalid as Team Zero.
Krauser and Mr. Karate would be a dream, Krizalid and Igniz are other characters that I would like to see

Saiki should come back, have a fight with his human form, maybe taking over Ash's body again (since he could've been revived within him) and fighting Dark Ash again maybe too.
The 1o place kinda impressed me and it would be a GREAT idea.
I love his videos bro, his voice just narrator's the script and just gameplay at the background that's probably related to what he is talking about, Not complaining tho but I got surprised then he also talks like that in his streams.

Logically sound list! Thank you and I agree generally in this list, personally though I just wish top tier bosses like Orochi get the necessary OP buffs as they should have had in the beginning. Furthermore I would say all the canon main bosses from your honorable mention list as well as Adelheid with buffs should be in the top 10 somehow, perhaps replacing some already in the top 10.
About the number 1 spot actually, I actually wanted a character similar to Mokujin from Tekken where he can copy another fighter entirely or use the same idea Rugal had before KoF was implemented (one famous move of an SNK character), because I'm mostly a lore nerd
Plus, it would be funny if Kuroko takes the Mokujin route and have some... adjustments/references to old characters (a.k.a. using the flesh arm and Rasen from old K9999 and Nameless as opposed to entirely copying Krohnen's bionic arm and/or copying the stance and idle animations of both of them, and a new climax on the air that combines both pre-Krohnen characters)
A man can dream, but it's fun because I have that kind of OC perfect for KoF lol
So happy SNK implementing this challenge mode considering their SNK Boss Syndrome has been lacking since XI.
Aside from the usual Goentiz, young Geese, and Krizalid my hope is that Mr Karate, Krauser, and Mr. Big get one.
I think Krauser with his special moves buffed would definitely be good as new DLC boss character in KOF XV.
Bringing him back with his Kaiser Wave be perfect!
Characters with variations are the strongest bets that will make an appearance in the Boss Rush mode.
Nightmare Geese, Kusanagi, Maki and Mr. Karate 2 immediately come to mind. You only need to add new skins and buffs to base Geese, Kyo, Chizuru and Ryo.
As much BS he had as a boss, Serious Mr. Karate in SvC Chaos was one of the dopest SNK bosses IMO, and I was glad his theme was literally the only standout of the game's OST. I would really, REALLY love to see that version as a boss in XV or some future game.
Honestly though, knowing Kuroko now thanks to this, he definitely is a runner up for me. Just seeing him mimicking the Haoh Shoukou Ken and the Maiden Masher (in a non canon game, but still) sold me in.

Well I sure as hell don't give a f"ck what people think because as much as I love the KOF series in general and that I somehow were able to beat the old KOF bosses despite SNK boss syndrome, the modern KOF games are far more enjoyable to me than the older ones thanks to it's easier difficulty imho.
I'm glad you included Maki Yata on the list she definitely does deserve it to be on the boss challenge and playable at the same time ( of course without the op boss powers)
I really like your idea of Krauser and Hein teaming up! I never noticed in Rugal's trailer that he doesn't use kaiser wave, so you pointing that out makes me think that there's a decent chance that he will come back. I hope you're right!

Geese, Orochi team, goenitz, Mr Karate, Adelheid, Samurai Shodown boss Mizuki or Zankuro. Those are the main ones who I think will be the bosses but if it end up being someone like Shion, Original Zero or Krizalid than I'll actually be surprise.
Man I been asking to see over igniz, zero and krizalid (and Rugal but dream came through) since 2002um. Love those bosses. They're so dope. And krauser and Mr big. I was saying what if they brought the all bosses team but instead of geese (since he's already confirmed) Rugal was the leader of the boss team. Well now we have Rugal coming lol. I still would love to see krauser make a return man. His mightier than thou attitude and grappler mixed zoner wrestler style was crazy. (And don't forget the music of his stage 😂. *Sigh* oh and also agree with Mizuchi's return too....awesome list. 🤦🏾♂️Jeez forgot about orochi Leona and Iori of course lol

Shoryu, this list will make flat screen TV's purchases skyrocket by the amount of controllers that will be tossed across the room in frustration! lol. But still, great list. That would be a very challenging mode indeed. I am a super fan of the Orochi storyline and you know what I would love to see? The heavenly kings succeed. We all remember Chris was Orochi's plan B. How INSANE would a Orochi boss be in the body he was meant to be in?

I think if the game is considered successful by SNK's measure, we'll end up getting more unique bosses.
As of right now, I can see Riot of the Blood Iori and Leona being easy adds due to being more or less reusable assets. Same with Nightmare Geese and maybe Classic Billy Kane and Yamazaki.
I do feel like next KoF will bring back Krauser with Hein and Luong on a team.
I want Mukai and Shion back in the boss challenge mode. Shion was only in one game, and Mukai was killed by Saiki (who will probably not be coming back, because he got "erased" rather than killed) for no reason. I also want to see Nameless be brought back, as well as having Botan as a boss for the first time.
If Maki ends up in a Boss Challenge mode, yeah... that would be hell. But it would also bring up one interesting thing. You did a What if with Andy Bogard so why not with Maki... What if Chizuru died instead of Maki? Knowing Maki and her strength, she would make sure to tame Kyo and Iori and their rivalry.
I like the idea. She is stronger but I don't know if she would do a better job (with Kyo and Iori) than Chizuru.

We are for sure getting orochi Chris and orochi shermie,Yashiro. found in the datamine we see them wearing the goenitz uniform which I can solidly say that confirms goenitz will be a free dlc character in the next dlc pass.
Yeah Goentiz is my biggest hope considering he's my favourite KoF villian.

Good list, but there are so many other possibilities. O'neill from Metal Slug (or maybe even the tank? like in Maximum Impact), Shion, Neo Dio, and I personally really want another appearance from Jyazu.
Hopefully all of them will be playable if you beat them. Like how beating Omega Rugal gets you his outfit.

I d like a time attack mode like neo Geo battle colossus, With meaner bosses depending on how many foes you beat in 15 minutes.
10:57 That's a really Cool Idea, but there might be a Problem with both O. Iori and O. Leona though, they'll pretty much be Copy Pasted from their Original Counterparts like with the same Moves and reused Animations with slightly New Tweaks etc,
While being as Bosses might be the Good Solution, but the real Question is will they're Orochi Forms be part as their "EX's" or a Wasted Character Slot, that's the Problem right there I'm talking about.

They could just be skins or something.
I think like reusing normal characters and just upgrading them as bosses for like extra stages or skins is a good idea, imo.
That way it can be more than just future DLC characters.

My most requested boss would be Nio Dio from world heroes.
Mostly just so SNK can make a bunch of JoJo references, especially with a new protag with stand hands.
Sure, guy who’s name I don’t feel like spelling is based off of Josuke and not Jotaro, and KOF 16 would likely have a Kira based villain.
Neo Dio would also be good as a villain for a potential Capcom vs SNK 3 as a partner to Pyron.
I think some good picks for this would be Orochi(either normal or Mizuchi), Goenitz(obviously), Otama=Raga just to give her some legitimacy, Wolfgang Krauser, and Orochi Leona and Iori as a two Phase Boss duo. I will say though, I would like the final team pack to be Team Outsiders: Verse, Re_Verse, and Otama=Raga. I think it would be interesting to play as balanced versions of these bosses, especially with their designs.
Kuroko looks very interesting, but he IS not the only one. Neo Geegus fights in a similar Style (World Héroes 1 y 2).

I'd love it if Shingo was added to the Boss Challenge Mode, as a nod to his original outing where interrupts the tournament as a single entry. However, make him actually ridiculous. Give his rekas full armour, give his DP priority over supers, make meterless Shingo Kick do a ground bounce like Rock's EX TOP attack, and if you wanna go CRAZY, give him flame effects.
He would also work well with the format of Ω Rugal's inclusion; Beat Graduate Shingo and you get a new arrangement of Still Green, and make his alternate outfits either his classic outfit or the tracksuit from the end of the Sacred Treasures Ending. Gimmegimmegimme.

This has to be the most creative thing I've seen so far regarding Shingo, and it includes the callback to older games (I recall 98 personally)? I approve. All it's missing is Shingo's old critical hit mechanic for that extra damage.

I love the ideas, although I'm "pessimist" about the boss challenge mode not because it's not amazing that it exists, but about the idea of having many characters and bosses.
For the moment I only can see Maki and Orochi Leona/Iori (maybe New faces?) being part of it, and the main reason it's simple that they already exist in the game in one way or another, they don't have to make new characters from 0, and for me that's always going to be the priority.
And Otoma=raga of course, I actually would love that because she kicks my ass lmao, so it'd be nice to see others experience that .
The Boss Mode is a really interesthing addition to the game. The problem to SNK now is to choose the right boss to bring back, since it has to have a nerfed version to play just like Omega Rugal. Beside the original DLC, they must develope boss characters (How many for season?) So I guess that beside bringing new characters as bosses, trying to use characters that are from the beguining in the game is a good option. In that sense, Otoma Raga and Reverse are good options (the reward could be a nerfed version of them to play), and also Iori, Leona and Geese (their Orochi Versions and Nightmare Geese, thought in their case, I don't know what could be the reward: another new stage?). If we speak of bring back hellish final bosses, Goenitz, Igniz and Magaki are the right options. If we speak of powerful final bosses, Orochi is a must.
I definitely hope we get more bosses in this mode.
I think with how this game seems like a celebration of KOF (bringing back older characters, DJ station with all the music) having more bosses to challenge makes sense. Really hope they add more even if they don’t make them fully playable
I just hope they don't "poison the well".
For example, if Rugal is a fun ""normal"" character I don't want them to release a broken Igniz as DLC because that can end up fucking around with a previous character like Rugal who might end up being banned from say internet play because he is also in the "boss category".
I would love Saiki with his full power to come back as a boss
