    I bought this model last year after a year old front loader quit. I am very happy with it. It is expensive but I think it’s worth it. Great product.

    This washer cleans A LOT better than people realize. I just got my TR5 a few months ago and decided to test it by grinding in chocolate and oil from my mower onto an old shirt. I didn't use any stain removers or pre-treatments of any kind and didn't even use the 'heavy soil' option and it got almost all the stains out. This unit isn't just for 'normal' washing, lol.

    • @joepublic6256
      @joepublic6256  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I have no doubt if I had serious stains and dirt I could crank this up to higher settings and it would clean whatever I had.

      Yes it is for "normal washing". I work sprinklers in the summer and my jeans get dirty, I brush off the excess dried mud, pretreat super ground in areas, and it still came out pretty much the same as they went in. especially noticeable on my lighter jeans. I had to wash stuff at my cabin in my Whirlpool front loader for stuff to actually get cleaned.

    I have the 2018 Speed Queen TR5 SERIES WASHER. On the Normal Eco cycle you can still get a full tub rinse by selecting the extra rinse cycle. The fast draining is just like the old MAYTAGS like my 1992 Maytag which lasted 26 years. When we first got the Maytag a new taller wider diameter standpipe had to be installed just like with this machine.

    One of these we had in an Airbnb. We had some dried on stuff that didn’t get washed properly. My LG front loader gets everything out from oily mechanic clothes to gardening stuff and curry stained aprons, it’s been thru it all and it cleaned better. We also do a ton of laundry so the size of the speed queen would also have been a setback. But that’s just my experience. Speed queen was for sure very well built, but me personally I wouldn’t have enjoyed 30 years washing clothes with the darn thing.

    Congrats on the new washer, just a little note about the “normal eco cycle” if you actually saw it in action it really does a pitiful two spray rinses three totally the one that it does for every cycle and two spray rinses are supposed to count as a full tub the rinse to me doesn’t cut it because I think it leaves too much soap residue remember they put that cycle in there just for the government energy efficiency rating.
    I personally would stick with a “heavy duty cycle” just putting it out there.

    • @joepublic6256
      @joepublic6256  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I saw all the cycles open lid videos. I use only clean and clear soap, and the minimum at that. Quit using softener altogether. That's why I slide by on eco. If I have something different I will for sure do full tub rinse.

    I went with the Maytag Commercial after much research. As far as quality build I don’t think you can do better than speed Queen. I went with the Maytag Commercial because it has a dual action agitator unlike the S.Q. Which has the agitator bolted to the drum. The dual agitator moves a lot more water through the clothes which cleans soiled clothes, towels, etc. very good. I do wash all my wife’s blouses on gentle cycle as she doesn’t get them very dirty and they last longer that way. Again, can’t go wrong with. Speed Queen, probably out last my Maytag.

      yeah the TR agitator is linked to the tub and it has no transmission. It uses "perfect wash", which is near silent. A little swoosh sound every 5 seconds. The TC spins back and forth quickly like a normal washer, agitator independent of tub. It also has a transmission. Louder.

I never use straight cold so i dont know. But i do know some brands 'temper' the hot setting with some cold mixed in. Speed queen will run straight untempered hot right from the source.

    All detergents now are for HE machines, so yeah, a tablespoon or whatever might make sense when you don’t use any water, but what about in these where the tub can be filled?

    • @joepublic6256
      @joepublic6256  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah im still learning. I was always a capful guy and then i tried to join the 2 tablespoon club, but when you add detergent to an empty drum and then load with dirty clothes, i tend to think 2 tbsp gets lost on a pantleg and thats that. Lately ive been leaning more towards a capful. With like arm and hammer. More expensive soap ill go a little tighter. Usually dont use any softener because it can gum up your machine. And the softener dispenser doesnt work very good at all. It will drip softener down onto a finished load.

      Standard deal. Nothing special. Now the DR5 dryer actually uses a water line for steam functions. I don't have that (yet)

    • @DylBuilder1
      @DylBuilder1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope, no difference. Just Hot and Cold water, drain standpipe, and regular 120V outlet. I wouldn't get this machine if you are considering. It fails to clean very dirty laundry and remove pet hair/lint. It doesn't remove stains even after pretreats. Plus the controls are super cheaply built and have a lot to go wrong. Mine (TR7) failed after not even 2 years. The TC5 is a much better buy, although it still has a lot of computer boards in it, the machine cleans a lot better, has less load size sensors and such to go wrong, and if you are concerned about delicates there is an extremely gentle delicate wash cycle. The TC5 is a bit louder during wash and in the middle of the cycle but around equal to the TR3/TR5/TR7 during spin.
      As Soon as I switched to the TC5 from the TR7 I noticed instantly cleaner clothing, and softer clothing too. I don't feel like (from my experience at least) that the TR series is worth its hefty $1200 - $1500 price tag depending on the model. Good luck with your purchase though!

    • @michaelfrascati7610
      @michaelfrascati7610 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DylBuilder1: Why do you feel the TR7 fails to remove pet hair, while the TC model does (a better job). From my understanding most pet hair is removed in the dryer anyway? But the more removed the better!

    • @DylBuilder1
      @DylBuilder1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelfrascati7610 It all depends, but yes it is mostly removed in the dryer, but if there is enough left on garments that there is still some on the garment after the dryer, that means the washer didn't do a good enough job. No washer is going to 100% take care of pet hair especially on stuff like nike pants and whatever. The TR7 simply doesn't do its job, because it spins back nd fourth to wash and the clothes on top never get anything except the water spray from the fill cycle/or adding water during auto.
