The last one;the Pepsi commercial when the boy came downstairs to retrieve his little rabbit. That just touched my heart for some reason.
The Folgers one where the kid come home from college (I guess) looks a lot like the guy who played Bill Dunnigan in 'The Last Prom'.I'll have to research that one.

7up red dots commercial is very nostalgic for me.

I know is a bit of a stretch, but i recall a commercial that panned into what looked like a toymakers shop on christmas eve and he was working away. The camera moved about his shop showing wooden dolls and such and in the end it showed a wooden leg and a wheelchair he had finished. have u come across this commercial??its was as big as the iconic folgers commercial. I even saw it on a couple of "best commercials" tv shows in the 80s yet i cannot find it anywhere. it had some color to it and definition so I assume probably 70s or early 80s. maybe a charity like march of dimes, gompers , united way or salvation army?? please help end my madness..ty 😅

Here in Canada Canadian Tire had an ad campaign that involved two actors, one playing Santa and the other Scrooge. They would promote what the store was selling as potential gifts. The Slogan was "Canadian Tire lets you give like Santa and save like Scrooge." Whenever they aired that commercial on TV you knew Christmas time was near.

I don't know if it's just the nostalgia that every generation has for their own childhood, but speaking as an 80s kid it does seem like there was something especially great about that decade. It was such a fun time to be a kid. I really feel the nostalgia at Christmas too.

No, I'm pretty sure every person is chauvanistic to the particular decade when they were kids.

@@Thegreatercheesethat’s not chauvinistic means. You’re thinking of narcissism.

I guess I am a dork because I love these classic, nostalgic commercials, especially around the holiday season. Taking me back to the bittersweet memories of my childhood for a little while puts some holiday cheer in my heart. Let me forget about adulthood for a half hour.

Not at all. A lot of us love watching these and remembering how much different it was back then. These commercials are so cozy.

Great times, great memories and great Christmas commercials.
I will say, it was great to be a kid throughout 1980s. Wish we all can go back to that time but I know it doesn't work that way. Of course I miss the 1980s, they were the best years of all.

I was born in 1980 so I remember the mid 80's commercials on, that decade was truly another time and place in America wasn't it?

  • @MatthewPhillips-lb6xu

I remember the honey nut Cheerios commercial with Scrooge! Thanks for the memories. It was fun growing up in the 1980s, except for the Reagans. G.I. Joe, Star Wars, He-man, Tranfsormers, Hot Wheels, Atari, Nintendo, TMNT. Great toys! And the Christmas specials were so fun.

@4:30 Still have a Rodney and Rhonda reindeer that my mom used to put out during Christmas. Now they get put out in my home each Christmas. Don't recall the commercial like I do many of the others, but happy these little reindeer live on and provide a nice memory of a childhood gone by each year they are put out.

Pizza Hut was so much yummier in those days. Maybe my taste buds have changed but Pizza Hut and fast food were so much tastier back then. I remember the Folgers commercial with Peter coming back home, too!

I live on the Canadian prairies, it's snowing by September or October and stays there until April. I've been to places that are warm during Xmas, like the southern US and Cuba and it is so weird to me. Neat, fun, but weird, to be the middle of WINTER and it's warm and sunny!
