Welcome to Remember These Ads? - A retro TV commercial channel.
I am a Generation Xer ad guy looking to recapture and archive a bit of my youth. On this channel, I collect, curate, clean up and publish collections of old commercials from the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. These are the retro television commercials all Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and Millennials will remember fondly.
I cover all aspects of live in the 70s, 80s and 90s here, but you'll notice a particular focus on the toys, restaurants, computers, games and stores of the period.
I will be posting new commercial collections twice a week (Saturday and Sunday morning), plus a few bonuses here and there, so if you enjoy this little bit of nostalgia, be sure to subscribe.
Got an idea for a new ad collection or have a tape of old videos you'd like to donate to the collection? Please email me at remembertheseads@gmail.com.
I hope you enjoy!

Toys R Us "I'm a Toys R Us Kid" Ad (1983)
Remember this one???
The "I'm a Toys R Us Kid" commercial campaign debuted in the 1980s and continued for several decades, becoming synonymous with the brand. The commercials typically featured children singing the catchy jingle, "I'm a Toys R Us Kid," while showcasing a vibrant and expansive Toys "R" Us store filled with toys of all kinds.
Aside from being known for its all-time jingle, this ad also featured a future television star. 80's Toy Commercials Vol 2 | Travel Back in Time
I totally remember this commercial, it was played constantly.
Love it, Thank You!!!! ❤❤❤❤....
WOAG
Eaton's had a super one in 1969! Make ea h moment a special moment, a special moment. Got a lot of Christmas shopping to do! With a woman jn a white, fluffy hat. Ever see it anywhere. Now!!
I used to like it when Hickory Farms had regular mall stores before they went to seasonal kiosks.
Is it all just Mazda?
These commercials just melts my heart away ❤
6:20 I forgot how many tie-ins came attached
TMNT the arcade game. Had good memories with that. My grandmother took me to the nearest Toys R Us, a good 30 minute drive north, to buy it for me for Xmas...but she let me keep it and just said take it and play it. Then, I remember when the Gulf War started and CNN announced the iraq war had begun I was on the last boss of the game and had to pause it and run downstairs to watch the news with my mom. Odd memory to have, but it stuck with me.
I miss those days
where is pan am
never had one but have read alotta kids bought the manglore figures and did pull them apart but ended up getting frustrated because the toys wouldn't actually go back together as well as they commercials claimed they would!!!
Always Coca Cola was am addictive song.
It took me forever to realize why they called it a "DLT". I spent way too much time wondering, "wtf ingredient does the D stand for?"
Back in those days the corporations actually cared about their customers. ❤
Snout Spout is pervy
Before the euro was skeletor 10 guldens like 5 mark hemans sword was the sword of mars en bounty killer
I still got my blockbuster card
Born in 1982 and the music of the 80s that you hear at 2:18 brings me back. Those exact clothing racks at 2:20 were our old hide and go seek spots. Back then any department store you went to that had a clothing department, you would always hear a parent calling out for their kids because kids were always hiding in the racks. Kmart had the cafe in them where we would get an Icee and the shopping malls had orange julius. The excitement when my Dad would get home from work Friday evening and say "Let's go to Blockbuster" was the best. We would get a movie for the family to watch and then at times I was allowed to get a movie for myself that I would watch on repeat all weekend and I'd eat a box of sour patch kids with it. It's crazy thinking about it. I had one movie that I would watch on repeat all weekend, and now I have thousands of movies at my disposal and I can't find one to watch. The Nintendo we had brought us kids together, where as today kids are at home but they're not really at home playing with their siblings because they're playing online. I feel that the 80s brought families together. Everything from going grocery shopping to being at home and watching a show together was something you don't see much today. If you notice every retail commercial that you see in 80s is focused on customer service and the overall customer experience, where as today it's all about speed. I'm all about speed too but we're not living in the moment. It's only August and I'm already seeing Halloween stuff in the stores, and by next month we'll start to see Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. Due to my profession, I understand business really well, and I know why businesses operate quickly, but damn....slow down a little and let people take in the moment. It's sad but I'm glad that I had a chance to experience the 80s and 90s. It was truly a great time to be a kid. Simple times.
2:26 A legend was born!
I'm saving this video to my playlist !!❤❤ Very bittersweet, seeing how fun, exciting and glamorous air travel used to be. 😢 Deregulation was a horrible mistake and it should be reversed. That was the biggest screw-up of Jummy Carter's administration.
Cars were good those days. The perfect transportation without being so costly. Those gasoline cars had an excellent fuel mileage. And, most were easy to work on. Do a lot of repairs yourself. Miss those days. 🫤
I am 64 years old. 90s is still my favorite decade. It is funny seeing things advertized taht no longer exist.
These seem mostly boycentric. Was hoping to see the dolls and stuff that I remembered from my childhood.
Live reporter, report, news?; L I've, I?
43:23 That's a dig um smack !!!
They oughta have a burger king mascots versus the McDonald's mascots video
I still see the one where the snow man melts back into the kid after that first spoonful of campbells every now and again.
Christmas was good then. Better. I'm sorry you're not there rn everyone ❤
I had the dukes of hazard race set when i but was 10.
I can remember falling in love with those huge house stereo systems with speakers as tall as me.screw back to the future.how bout sending me back to the 80s!!!!
Oh, there was another game that was quite popular..it had the solar-systim & it had cards with plants on them..& random questions. We had it in our class at school..& my friend also had this game but, I can't remember what it's called..🤔
I want to add: Trivia Persuit..was a staple game in people's houses. My parents used to play it when we had company or my older cousins over
I remember Mr. Mouth. My friend had it. It was in the very eraly 80's, I was really little..
I love these commercials reminds me of my childhood. I'm 1979 baby wish I could go back
As a teenager I had a 94 mercury topaz 2dr.. but it was a v6 and a 5 speed standard… I had no clue how rare it was…‘can’t even find a photo of one on google…. :(
Makes me appreciate my pos knowing someone once drooled over it enough to buy it new…
I was born early 70's I know the commercials for kids.. but these are not known to me.. BUT I LOVED THIS!!

11:33 - GE lightbulbs, my all time favorite 80's snack... MMM

5:19 WTF?! Putting a sandwich on the coffee. Where in the world are you doing this nowadays?
I miss the Old Munchkins and Deals you used to receive at Dunkin , they were more affordable than today's donuts, blame on Inflation of the economy
