Hi Erik, Ian here. I am very into outdoor cooking solutions and especially efficient ones. I think the best two I have for a solo (or two person) expedition are The Trangia Triangle (with gas burner, and traditional Methanol fuel as a back up) and my No.1 is the Primus Titanium TI Lite gas burner with Titanium Primus Kettle (in pot form). This is a piece of serious kit! I paid £44 for this (440SEK) in an outdoor sell off about 2 yrs ago. It is THE best outdoor small stove I have ever had and I revere it! I can see the attraction of a wood stove like this though in the outdoors....no fuel to carry and yet fuel virtually everywhere you look in a forest! Cool. In solo backpacking, weight and functionality are all. Good job!

Love your videos, the scenery is always spectacular; quite different from that here in Florida. I liked the comments you made, referring to today;s mental health issues, You have the scenery of chilling out in the woods, open, snow covered spaces and mountains, I have the sugar white sands of the beaches,, which I love, especially in the Fall and Winter when the crowds are gone. Why do you like to use the firebox stove instead of just doing a fire without it. Well. Is it just how you prefer it?
I like both but the firebox is more efficient when you want to cook something and you don't need the heat from a campfire.
I just use an old coffee can with holes drilled in it.
