Silverback Shabani isn't annoyed at all. He loves to play "catch me if you can" and "tag you're it" with his son Kiyomasa, and daughter Annie. They are both older now (11 and 8) and Shabani still plays chase with them 😃.
I feel terrible for these intelligent creature to be locked in a damn Zoo with all that unnecessary noise and people constantly staring at them for half of the day!!!

If this is an AZA zoo they most likely have another habitat that they will rotate to or a door that lets them go in and out of another habitat at most times.
Shabani needs a larger environment. Mountain gorillas rarely hear the noises like those from the human audience nor the constant irritation of his offspring.

I'm not stupid they should be in the wild lock humans up in cages .I tired of people taking over animals habitat. They are killing baboons in Cape Town if they become a nuisance.People are invading there space .We should have more respect for them.

"Specimen"? that sounds very strange. A gorilla male is not a specimen, he is a full-grown man of his species. Incidentally, with 97% identical genome to us of all sizes, shapes, colors, 6000 languages.
Silverback Shabani isn't annoyed at all. He loves to play "catch me if you can" and "tag you're it" with his son Kiyomasa, and daughter Annie. They are both older now (11 and 8) and Shabani still plays chase with them 😃.

.Zoo owners should be shipped in cages to the far reaches of the jungle and have to fend for themselves, they’d know then how cruel life is for wild animals locked in zoos, for any animal constricted to a cage and this includes puppy mills- I’m not dissing your comment but enuf is enuf already. .

The Silver Back is ver sweet Boy. He has patients and has learned to share in his environment. That probably wouldn't be tolerated in the wilderness.

Shabani is such a loving papa. Momotaro (Kyoto Zoo) would never allow Genki or his children to take food from the ground or zookeepers that he wants for himself. I can't see them grabbing food he's eating like Shabani's son did and not run after them to bite them. Also I have never seen Momotaro groom any of his kids. Truly, Shabani's behavior shocked me! 🥰

Momotaro is a lowlife who’s brutal to his family but at the same time he’s probably frustrated. He shouldn’t have just 1 wife, at least 3 wives , their enclosure is hideous , they get fed a whole bunch of nothing and not enough natural enrichment . Seeing gorillas using a touchscreen is not impressive to me, it doesn’t surprise me because they are highly intelligent. They need more natural things to do for stimulation.

Both Gentaro and Kintaro need other gorilla offspring within their same age group. Not that it will happen now. But not all silverbacks are as family oriented and easy going.
