    Chris, at 6:00 what you're seeing is a redox front, where the orange material oxidised Fe in the clays and the black is reduced Fe. means it has been sitting there a very long time.

    Absolutely gobsmacked by the gold congratulations, you and Gadzee deserve a find like that after all the work you boys do.

    What a treat! I also offer my thanks to the property owner for allowing both of you to retrieve such stunning, beautiful gold! My jaw hit the floor at the amount. I would love to plop down on a rock midstream and just scoop up the material by the handfuls to pan. Those gorgeous rocks, are just the cherry on top! So glad to see you pumped up! Blessings from Alabama ❤️

      I do it at houses in the city with my metal detector in my hand. I generally get enough permissions to keep me as busy as I want to be. I've gotten most of my silver that way. Gold comes from the beach.

      @jigglie8077 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i asked a sheriff if i could walk up his property for rocks.
      he was not amused.
      so i put his property as a "good spot to ask for permission" at a rock club.
      ha. saw 3 cars from the club in his turn around so it mustve worked LOL

    • @goldiswhereyoufindit

      Type up a flyer that looks official and explains what you do. Offer to show them what you find or see if they want to do it with you.@@jigglie8077 Have something ready to hand to them when they answer the door. That way after you leave even if they say no, they have a way to get ahold of you if they change their mind.

      @ut000bs my town (of under 1,000) put new sidewalks in and repaved main street.
      Someone metal detected the dirt piles before they hauled them off, then again after they leveled it out where the new firehouse will be built.
      Found a lot of old coins. It was founded in the 1870s, the old concrete was probably from the 50s.

    Maaan, that wedge of banded jasper is gorgeous! I feel like at some point, having a gem "lathe" may be something worth it one day. Or a friend that has one. Basically a horizontal diamond abrasive plate with a water drip, and a little arm you glue the gem to so you can grind facets. Or in the example of that jasper - grind a perfect smooth flat surface to reveal the details on that one flat-ish side showing all the banding.

    I lived in Magalia,CA for 14 years. In a canyon nearby a 58 pound gold nugget was found in the Feather River canyon in 1850s
    Gold rush Era.
    There was a Gold Nugget Parade, Queen and King and Clampers paraded as well, in memory of the event.
    The town of Paradise, originally called Pair 'o Dice, burnt down in 2018 due to PG&E NEGLECT. 89 people died, mostly elderly and disabled.
