Great breakdown, thanks!
Thank you!
Great series! It certainly helped me comprehend vellum better.
Very nice seriers, it got really confusing when you started to use those shelf modes but still I have learned quite a bit. Thx!
Yes, the shelf tools can create quite complex networks. That’s why I recommend beginners not to use them.
This was Super helpful thanks so much
you are a really good teacher
Thanks Ali!
Sooo good. Thank you!
You are welcome, Philipp!
so good! thank you
You are welcome!
Do you have any idea why my Houdini might be crashing instantly when I try to play the simulation at 8:22 and 8:48? I just can't get past this part! Thank you!
No, I have no idea. Maybe something in your setup is not right.
@@graphicINmotion No problem, thank you
If anyone else has this problem, it was a bug with the vellum pressure node in Houdini version 19.5.303. If you update it from that version, the node works fine :)
Hello! I have a question.I have several objects that are connected to the vellum solver they fall at the same time, but I need the first one to fall first, and then the second one.Thank you in advance, you are the best!
You could group your objects and use separated Vellum Source nodes on the groups inside the solver. Then you can key frame the activation. You could also do that in a DOP network.
Thanks a lot but I don't get something, you say you can't add new geometry to the stream on basic SOP context but isn't that what you did on part 2 with the waffle thing ?
You cannot emit new geometry during the simulation. The waffle is added before the simulation. But recently I discovered that you can use the vellum source node inside vellum solver in SOPs and emit geometry during the sim that way too.
@@graphicINmotion Ho okay thank you very much
Any reason why you used 2 splits instead of using 2 and it's 2 outputs? Thanks
I just wanted to split each group individually. If I use the second output of the first split, I would get the other groups as one stream.
@@graphicINmotion AHH thanks. So basically is like using two inverted blast nodes?
@@asr59 yes, exactly.
