Keep TAP/BPM and LOOP REC/PLAY pressed when turning on the Kaossilator. Then set loop length to 16.

Nice hints! I got one 1-1/2 months ago, made a few videos. Some hints:
Hold down Scale and tap Loop to go quickly back to Program menu from any other menu. Also, try d.84 and tap or swipe your finger anywhere along the top edge and WAIT. It produces a rising feedback. Cancel it by tapping anywhere else or changing program!

the selected scale defines which notes are played, when touching the pad. 5th means only the root tone and the 5th tone are played (e.g. C + G).

i love this tune! great work and performance. It s really impressive how precise you are with the notes. I recently bough a second hand Kaossilator and i love it. But i wish i could be as precise as you are. I can't manage to push the exact note every time. Thank you for this informative and lovely demo :)

I put a post-it note over the touchpad and play it with a ballpoint pen. Make marks where the notes for your riff are at.

that's why they made the Kaossilator Pro... midi in/out.. etc.. but also like $400.. so it's there if you have the money.. I got one of these the other day on CL for $49 locally so for the money I'm excited about it. I want to use it to create sweeps and phrases I can sample with a sampler.. also the grid mod is awesome too as it basically makes it much much easier to play it with greater accuracy.

Some other effects that sound like music tunes:
Press S.61 repeatedly in the bottom middle. Sounds like the opening to Kraftwerk's "The Robots".
Turn on Gate Arpeggiator G.28 and use with P.91, press and hold down the middle. It sounds like the opening to "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. But I can't take it anywhere since there is no Key transpose on the Kaossilator.

I really must get myself one of these, they've come down a bit on ebay since the version2 came out. Although I'm told the new one is a slightly different beast and in some ways not as playable, but the two together makes a great combination.
It'd be perfect for creating my own backing tracks to play guitar over.
    Great demo !!!
    Cheers :0)

Finally got round to getting a kaossilator and it's great.
The only limit really is your imagination, If you have a Sonuus guitar to midi box you can run this into it and sequence rack synths with it.
My only criticism of this kaossilator is that it must have been designed by a left handed person, as the record button is on the wrong side for me, it'd be much easier if it was on the left side of the box. Obviously you can turn it upside down to get round it.
Other than that.. wicked bit of kit

Can you just hook up a keyboard to this thing so you don't have to muck about with different scales and whatnot? Or will it at least loop external sounds?

    • @8bitwidgets
      @8bitwidgets 8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Paul TheSkeptic this has no midi / usb / external audio in.. but it comes loaded with tons of sounds.. tap tempo helps keep things in sync.. and it has various scales for the touch areas.. makes it great for live / solos.. or sampling / retriggering later with something external..
