Great to see an E. I grew up as a B seat kid/passenger in one flying in one (SE-FPL) all around Europe including IMC to minima and known icing. Although our had the older style snub nose. My most vivid memory is probably getting a door ajar light just after takeoff from London Gatwick (LGKK) and doing an emergency return. It was of course just a faulty sensor.
Nice tour of the PA-23 Aztec. It is nice to know that the Aztec is flying in the Philippines. We have a 1977 "F" model that is our family transport! You can check out ours on our You Tube channel. Happy flying!
It’s exactly the one we owned for ages. We got several form the factory as new. Your start up is wrong. These engines start on primed fuel thus mixture closed until the engine picks up. Do it one by one . Throttle #1 inch open. Open mixture, use fuel pump till you see the fuel flow move.. ( is about 10 to 14 counts) Close mixture, you may leave the fuel pump on. Press start . When the engine picks up open mixture. Adjust throttle and check oil press. Check battery charge and wait for good amp. Then repeat for #2
The Aztec has wonderfully unique flying qualities. Much better short field capability than the book numbers would lead you to believe. Talk about the wing shape and what that means compared to other light twins.
