I think the important thing about flat shoes is to keep the vamp low and the toe pointed, if possible, or, as in my case, almond-shaped. Those two details really help to visually elongated the leg. Almond-toes are as close to pointed toes as my wide toes can stand. I also look for a slight heel, even 1/2 to 1” in “flats” helps make them more graceful looking.
Yet again a plethora of suggestions proving that flat shoes can be elegant fun sexy even. The Chanel two tones are really chic love them Thanks again for another great video showing us the way to wear flats successfully .
That was amazing!!! Thank you! I loved the flat Chanel-style slingbacks towards the end. And the black-and-white outfits. I think you’ve solved about three wardrobe problems for me with this video!
My dream wardrobe is your closet. I also hope to own all your amazing pieces someday. You’re style is really fantastic. Thank you so much for all the lessons!
This is a good video and the flats are elegant. I find that these designs will fit with everyday shopping. Comfort and safe is what a lot ladies look for in shoes.
Another great video particularly for those of us recovering from DVT in the leg who cannot wear heels but still want to look elegant and put together when going out. Aged 58 and thankfully having recovered from DVT & a Stroke I know how disheartening it is when you don't want go anywhere because you just cannot get an elegant flat shoe to fit. A very big thank you.
Brilliant video Gemma. Really helpful for someone like me who can't walk in heels!!! The most versatile pair of shoes I've ever owned were a pair of nude ballet flats by Nine West. They literally went with every outfit. 💕
This is one of my favorite videos, it’s jam-packed with great content. I love my faux Chanel low block heel two tone slingback from Vanelli. I just wish more shoes with this heel height were available, I can’t wear anything much higher, but love looking taller.
Thank you, I am quite tall, and never wear heels, so this video is just perfect for me! And moreover, your channel is great, I get a lot of inspirations from you.
@@Gemmawhattowear Thank you 😊. Yes! I loved the shoes, and all styling you showed us. I loved especially balerinas and I will be looking for nude classic ones cause they really suit many outfits. But honestly, I wish I were not so tall, I would love to wear heels as well.
Great content as always, thank you. Adore slingbacks and have so many with skinny heels. I should donate and be kinder to my feet. Shoes are my weakness!
I live in my white jeans! I do have slimmer hips than shoulders and bust, though, I think that’s why they work on me so well. Thanks for another great video.
Great video Gemma! Some lovely examples of flat shoes that look so stylish. Thank you! I’m just going to watch your other video now so I can style my Chanel dupes! 👠👍😉❤️xx
..... The issue I have with " flats " is that there is zero support for ones legs/ feet .... I adore the look of them, but once you're over 55 and up it's not easy to wear them , without the support. As for " flip flops, ", the only ones I've ever found that have ' support ' are Vionic and Bass. .... And flip flops are for the beach, the pool, or at home. .... I just don't think they look that good, with casual ensembles unless you are under 40. I do love the slingback, the loafer, and the slide is flattering ,with a slight heel, as well.....; and I want a slight heel on my shoes, because I think it looks chic and elegant. ... Which on top of, I am only 5'2" .
I feel you! I’m 64 and a dancer so I take care of my feet. I just purchased a pair of the new arch support Sketchers in a nude espredrille ( sp?) and I love them. AND I can wear them with ANYTHING. I’m not one for the sneakers with a dress, but these work. Suggestion on Sketchers - go in person to try them on. Their sizing varies with the style.
I’m 5’7” and love heels but there are times a flat shoe is much more comfortable. I can’t do very flat sandals and I loathe flip flops. I have very flat feet and need arch support and most manufacturers’ shoes don’t have them. I recently bought a pair of red loafers and Chanel dupes from Naturalizer and they are comfortable, support my feet, but still look very stylish. Thanks Gemma for these suggestions. ❤
The Chanel SS21 show had a flattish, low, square vamp, slingback, strappy sandal that I have the hots for. I’m hoping to find a good leather look alike soon.
I just can’t wear thong-style shoes, I get a cut or blister between the toes right away. I’ve tried to “get used to them”, along with thong underwear, it’s just not happening!
I have a pair of gold flat espadrilles that I love and they go with so many outfits in the summer. I do need a bit of a lift though, otherwise my back hurts, so they are not completely flat. How do you feel about wearing black shoes with white jeans or trousers? I’ve heard say it’s a big no no. That it’s too much of a contrast....Great video 😀👏👏👏💕
They sound great Soraya, I think Black shoes with white jeans work , I think I added quite a few of those looks in the video but not so keen on black shoes with white trousers. 🌷
I really enjoy your videos In my opinion If a flat shoe has a pointed toe it elevates the look I unfortunately have flat feet so heels are more comfortable for me Tfs
It's harder than I thought to find the right nude flats with variations in tone, sheen and details. Fancier or more feminine looking sandals with a little bit of support or comfortable curvature too. Not really dark colors or thick straps.
On Zappos.com, they have some quite nice comfort shoes that are fashionable. One that comes to mind is Walking Cradles. I jave a metatarsal isue and I can wear most shoes by going up half a size to get my orthotic in. I can wear Fly London without the orthotic but they are slightly narrow.
I have the same problem and have had to accept that comfortable, orthotic friendly footwear cost a lot of money. Vionic are stylish but expensive and Hotter cost a bit less but not as stylish.
@@Eibhlin7 I work and love most of the wedge styles by Fly London. They do run a slight bit narrow. They're like walking on marshmellows! You can get any kind of stick on shoe pads for any foot problem from Foot Smart.
@@scottlandriault3832 Sorry! Didn't see this til now, 9 months later! Wide runners, wide flat boots. That's it. :( I need to find "pretty" things for a wedding coming up, for dresses... Kinda think it's impossible.
What about classy looking flat boots for winter too next? After all a lot of us don't want to pay around $10,000.00 a year just so we can stay warm in a cold climate up here in a city nick named the gateway to the north while only wearing classy looking flat shoes because a lot of us don't want to look like the movie character by the name of private Benjamin or make us look like a female boxer while wearing combat boots? Would choosing white flat boots help or are they all with pointy toes which are terrible for those of us with a wider foot.
As some other commentators have pointed out, these options exclude all the women who require supportive shoes. Also, I completely disagree that flip-flops (worn anywhere but at the beach or the pool) can look elegant. The slap-slap sound these shoes make as soon as the wearer takes a step is beyond tacky!
I love the Chanel look flats but they are difficult to find. In my opinion, flip-flops are the ugliest, worst shoes ever and they are not good for your feet. They should ONLY be worn in the locker room!
Beautiful ideas.💖💖thank you

Create With Cindy I like ladies on heels. Well generally shoes that makes a lady look cute, are more attracting to me. Comfortable and classy
Flip flops presented as classy shoes 👎😱
Yes
Flip-flops can look elegant only if you're on the beach, they are not appropriate for casual or formal wear. I think this is what she meant.
Can you look at wedges that don't have a very narrow sole in the future please 💟
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
It's harder than I thought to find the right nude flats with variations in tone, sheen and details. Fancier or more feminine looking sandals with a little bit of support or comfortable curvature too. Not really dark colors or thick straps.
Every flipflop and slide that I have ever worn has had so little support that they were uncomfortable. They belong on the beach and nowhere else.
🥰
I guess I'm out of luck. I've been looking for YEARS "pretty, chic" shoes that I can wear my orthotics in... Sigh.

I cannot wear pointed toe shoes and the round toe flats look like granny mae shoes on me. I don't think there is a flat out there for me
Try an almond toe shape. This really works for me, I can’t wear pointies either, but us much mire flattering and elegant than a round toe.
Flat shoes is all I've been wearing lately because of arthritis in my knees. I LOVE my heels but flat shoes are much more comfortable.
