I reached out to the mod maker @justehcupcake challenging them to make darker side into an even harder kaizo level. This is what they came up with, enjoy the video!

The true Kaizo experience would have been a pipe instead of the moon, and it took you back to the beginning of Darker side.
Would love to see other Odyssey players try this too, it looks amusingly hard

Seeing you beat darker side in a mod that makes everything basically impossible and I can’t even beat it in the normal game makes me realize how bad I am at this game
Just grind it, if you aren't good at the game just keep playing, skill comes with hours of practice, you got this 👍

I feel your pain. I have had Mario Odyssey since 2018. I only just beat Darker Side without assist mode for the first time a month ago.
Darker side was already impossible but the modder made it even more impossible

This was legitimately the first time I saw the end of darker side as even when I was playing casually starting out, I still learned the speedrun skips and glideon skip was no exception

The twist should’ve been that when he beats darker side he discovers that the moon spawned on the other side of darker side
Imagine if before the moon, it just threw two unavoidable sources of forced damage JUST to health check you

would've been cool if bowser didn't heal you and afterwards there was a part that required you to damage boost twice...but I'm not sure it would even be fun at that point

Btw the first time i reached the darker side glydon section i accidentally did glydon skip (i didnt even know it existed). I was so shocked i almost landed in the lava right before the bowser section. Imagine doing it again due to one mistale for the 1000th time 😂😂

I watched someone do this a few years ago and thought this was the actual darker side.
Imagine what skelex’s version is
Personally, I found the part with the fog and the spawning multicolored enemies to be the hardest of darker side. I couldn't do it without taking damage, so I had to get there with 3 health to be able to go through.The enemies are overwhelming. There are so many! (But I assume the fact that I'm a casual gamer).
I couldn't even beat it without assist mode.

The part at 13:12 is the reason it took me 1,247 times to beat darker side on normal mode… (yes I did count the deaths(my time was 8:42:18.56))
