    Young man you are great. You are direct with your replys with out ever being insulting or demeaning. I sent a question to another TH-cam person about building a steering shaft. Loved the design, but wanted to know how to build it without a lathe. His response was "but a lathe ". I want to thank you for being a normal guy. Not all of us can afford a lathe, milling machine, drill press, 3d printer, copy machine, vinyl cutter etc. You keep being you. Good job!

    Dam Boy! You're getting smarter and smarter! Thanks for turning us on to another source of props!! Like the idea of the anodizing! And, the use of a lighter material! Will give them a try for sure. Don't know if the one cone on your balancer just looked off center because of ink/grease or what. But, looks better, more concentric now in this video...

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem brother glad I could help. I agree the cnc props are a great upgrade and should be easily modified and thinned. I actually have 2 different balancer pins/shaft (cones) one for working the props and one for final balancing. That's probably why it looked different. Thanks for watching

      Yea man it's actually quite amazing how each prop has its own characteristics. One prop may not work that great on one specific hull type but the same prop on another hull will literally bring the boat to life on a whole new level. Thanks for watching

      @@IRONCLADRC yea I’m still trying to learn the boat stuff. Like I’d said I got one at a pawn shop up in Detroit thinking it would be a great boat. $135 for it. No remote but brushless set up. Well it was a total bust. The motor shakes so bad it is in drivable. So now wife mad kid sad and a boat that is a shelf space. I don’t know the first about building a boat. Guess I’ll sell it or pay to have it build. Or just stick to the ebuggy world.

    That's an awesome review of those Oxidean props Big B. I'm really interested to see how that 45.7 1817 performs because I've ordered a LH/RH pair for my Zelos 36 (which is currently in makeover phase 🤫😉)
    And useful intel on the bullet nuts too. I mostly use the simple self locking nuts but have a few bullets (threadlocked in of course). I agree, while they look pretty they don't seem to have a positive or negative effect on performance.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the props so far the 4519 was BOSS on every boat I tested it on. The (1817) looks aggressive. I think it's gonna be a great upgrade prop

  • @PatriotBrad

    From all this prop talk I hvae watched over the last months I really want to know how we can monitor peak motor rpm. In theory we want the motor to be at maximum rpm when going for top speed. Any less would in theory start creating heat and the lower the rpm with the same voltage the higher the heat in the system. Basically resistance to the motor turning.

  • @vking2.5
    @vking2.5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey big B! Love the channel. I just picked up a Oxidean dominator kevlar..Stock set up with a 4519 prop.I haven't had it out yet. But when I do, I would like to try different props. It came with a Hobby wing 180 esc..What props would you recommend to try? I probably would shop at OSE.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't ran that boat yet but if I had to guess a 447 would be perfect for that bad boy ( low end high speed fun) another rprop that would get you some serious speed would be a ABC 1716 ( top end extremely high speed one hitter quitter prop)

    Your collection of props is amazing, I’m sure you didn’t get them all in one day. If you had to start all over would you go with CNC props or do you see the value in the higher end balanced and sharpened props? I’ve only started with one CNC because I don’t know how to tune a prop yet.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your learning how to balance and sharpen props I'd start with cheaper bras props like tfl props. Honestly I don't see any difference between material types my opinion beryllium props are far more superior to any prop out there
