I play with a Mod that allows you to build more of the World Wonders on Mountains (e.g. Oracle), I always build Petra on a Mountain, just because it feels right
Just randomly thinking, Id love to see a babylon navy focused game on a map that is mostly small islands It should be easy to get caravels and shipyards. (but might be hard to get the funds and production to make use of it though) - so might want to build a ton of galleys I havent mapped it out but a niter push after with frigates could work (just a kill with a musket to get frigates) - but might be tough to get enough niter and do all the science boosts. Melee units make sense for multiple reasons - the boost to unlock frigates + unique units upgrade path + easy to upgrade with boost with only needing an iron mine and three mines. Although niter and musketman could be a little tougher with aqueduct and armory (maybe its not that bad because you get a free barrack with babylon) It might be too sweaty of an idea but I might try it out for fun.
>Settles next to the dead sea >Doesn't make a +4 Holy Site on the dead sea before forming a religion >Doesn't put a Holy Site next to Vesuvius/Mountain >Forms Religion anyways
I never seem to get lucky enough to have Imhotep be the first engineer. It seems to be Bi Sheng about 80% of the time for me. I think i would have asked Bibbrax on the opposite corner of the dead see. Better tiles and a possibility for a harbor for some extra food and housing.
Finished my Gaul game today. After I was done with the early Men at Arms play there were only 3 civs left. My ally Alexander, Cree and Brazil. From that point I was going for science or culture win, whatever. So at around turn 150 the barb camp on snow north of my empire which I let live intentionally turned into Akkad. About the same time I came aware of Cree being close to a culoture victory (it said 34 turns). So I upgraded my Men at Arms to Line Infantry, produced some new ones, got Mobilization, suized Akkad and moved my invasion forces close to Cree. Had to take my way through twoi other cities to get to the cap. I declared war 17 turn before the game said Cree would've won and also 15 turns before my alliance would run out. Thanks to the civ gods I build Venetiuan Arsenal in case I would have to go to war with Brazil because the placed their capital on the coast. So 4 Battleship and a Destroyer Armada took care of that and I ended up standing in front of Macedon's cap, which was neighboriung Kupes former cap which was my first victim of the game and therefore able to support a few nice little Infantry Armies (I had like 20k Faith and Grandmasters Chapel). Of course the danger of Cree winning was no more at that time, but I ended it in 2 turns either way. Why that story? It brought me to an funny Idea. One City Domination Challenge where you time the push on all other players capitals so that you take them all in the exact same turn so you factually never ended a turn with more than one city. That might actually be kind of hard to pull of.
@@RomanHolidayAI Great work. the game is much more dynamic with empires rising and falling and i even had to temporarily cede some of my territory and play from a position of weakness. I havent seen ai taking and keeping cities since CIV IV
@@nicholalehtimaki3597 Thanks very much, wow since civ 4, it’s been a long time since tactical AI haha! Deliberately seeding territory, what a fun conundrum to be in! I had hoped something like that would have happened with this game, but alas 😂
for some reason, seeing the bunch of wonders in a row made me want to see a game where you try to max out the usefulness of the "within X tiles" effects from wonders and districts. not sure who's the right option though... maybe Maya so you can put the cities in more flexible areas?
I don't get it. You play Deitie (supposedly) and don't even have a campus going, yet you manage to build 2 powerful units and pretty much take the entire map in 5 turns or something. When I have a start like this, I'm swarmed by 12 enemy units at least 1 tier above myself before I get my 2nd city down. I have thousands of hours in this game and it looks like you're playing the game at least 5 levels easier than you say you do... it makes no sense at all.
£517 - I'm on my way from misery to happiness today. I'm on my way to the University of Sankore today
Huzzah Huzzah Huzzah Huzzah!

Me too. It's a great addition to the game.
20:16 "Sun Tsu is going to explore into all of your hidden bits." URSA! That's your QUEEN! How lewd!!!
That’s pretty harsh about Hull. I quite often like to go there. Of course, it’s with the German army in HOI4. 😏
That coast is indeed never defended - why would you??

Glad to have a new vid drop! My workshop needed a fun break
Hugely interesting game this one, Japan has been most gracious with the settler donation.
A service I appreciate fully
Your enemies would have been 'petra-fied' of your increasing empire! 😝
Very good = )
Ahh the proclaimers, such a vibe. The 80s was a hell of a decade.

Ursa tries the improved ai mod and everything goes his way.
I try the ai mod and gran Columbia knight rushes me
Haha yes he has got pretty lucky that he didn’t spawn by someone like them, which is quite annoying for me 😂

From a less than stellar start, things really turned around this episode.
Punching out a bunch of settlers! How violent!
The modern name for Bagacum is Bavay, which in French sounds like the verb 'baver' - to drool, dribble or slobber. ;0)
From one bodily fluid to another.
Gaul, (Undertaker standing behind roman reins meme) love gaul, one of the civs thats awkward but just works
