2001 India , 2005 England were won on home conditions .. teams generally play well in home condition... so this series surely ranks higher

@@mrkipling2201 makes no sense! Starc, Hazelwood, Pat cummins at his prime is their best lineup with Lyon. Under home conditions they are always stronger. in that case India was fielding its "C" team

This was a fairytale story, I mean an underdog team going through so much yet resisting every single day to avoid that loss that they could've had any minute with one mistake, there was always a guy taking responsibility to keep the game going. From an embarrassing loss in the first match to winning the last match on the last day defeating the hosts on their best ground where they have never lost in 33 years without your best player. Hands down best series I ever watched. I was in office that day and i watched the last one hour on a toilet seat I couldn't move. I will always remember it as 'Siege of Gabba'

This is the Greatest series ever🙏🇮🇳 just because it was outside home and the team that won the series actually were infants except rahane and pujara in terms of test match experience.

the fact that 2001 and 2005 wins were by home team, but this Win was for Away team, makes it greatest, then add the non availability of India top players makes it out of reach of any other series

    • @niti_g2106

2001 India had no bowling line up. Kumble, Srinath, Agarkar all unavailable and Aussies of 2001 were on rampage till Kolkata happened. I'd still vote for that. This Aussie batting line up is very weak compared to that. This Indian team has had super bowling. But for team effort, this team is surely higher, 2001 was more of Dravid Laxman and Harbhajan. This was an entire team galvanized

Now the only series that can be compared with this is if the visiting team has won the series. If home team has won then none of those series can be compared and it ranks above them without question.

Lets just take a moment and salute Australia because all the 3 series in question 2001 2005 and 2021 all had Aus as one of the two.

The key to England winning in India is Joe Root. If he performs like he just did in Sri Lanka then we’re in with a real shout of doing well.
