    I really like the Snap On locking extensions. No more losing sockets in tight areas.

      I have snap on locking wobbles love them... Kinchrome has locking extentions with a hex on the ratchet end so you can put a wrench on it. I hope snap on doors something like that soon

    Awesome video! Thank you for the video, I needed help looking for a set of extensions. You helped me make up my mind!

    I like to have the pinned and ball bearing impact wobbles. I like the pinned when you are at a tight angle so the socket doesn't fly off. I have never had a problem with one getting stuck. If you don't line it up with the hole it will just go into one of the detents, or else a flat on the socket. Either way it always pulls right off for me. And I use a little pick or acres driver to push it when I have it in a hole.

    I really like the idea of the impact extension with the built-in swivel. That means instead of having two sets of impact sockets, swivel and non-swivel, you only have to buy the less expensive non-swivel impact sockets and the extension to get both.
    But I don't like wobble plus extensions. Sometimes when using them for wobble they unintentionally get pushed into non-wobble. Then you have to remove it and pull the socket back down. I believe it is worth getting both straight and wobble-only extensions.
    Regarding locking extensions, I believe their primary application is for working on aircraft. Losing tools inside an airplane is far more serious than with road vehicles.

    One thing to note is the snap on impact extensions have a friction ring instead of the common ball detent. I haven't noticed any pros to this other than maybe serviceability. The snap on wobble plus extensions are awesome, but for non wobble extensions I would recommend Mac or Cornwell. The knurling is better on those.

    Locking extensions are good for some jobs. As an aircraft mechanic it is a huge problem and a waste of time if a socket comes off the end of my extension and goes somewhere hard to get to.

    Nice demo on the wobble plus. That's what I have also.

    Most importantly with the impact extensions is do not just get black extensions, make sure they are CR-MO, not CR-V. You want your anvil of your impact gun to be hitting against CR-MO not CR-V, Chromemoly (cr-mo) wont F up your drive anvil. And after using wobble extensions, I feel no need for regular ones, I'd get wobbles first.

    I think that I would have to use the wobble plus first. I've heard great things. but not totally sold. I just don't think they allow enough "wobble" compared to a universal socket or something to that degree

      They work OK. I like to have tons of extensions though. I keep them like most do old acres drivers. Just seems I always need them. And tools I use a lot I keep more around thanni need so so I make sure I always have them. Some companies wobbles don't move much. And other wobble a lot. I have some old Cornwell wobble extensions that have a ton of movement. More than any other I have. Then I have some older sears brand and pt tools stuff that hardly moves. I sorta thing you should just have a set of each. But neither of which snap on... Save your money for other stuff that matters if its expensive or not.

    i got some cheap extensions at princess auto in canada, they are all wobble + knock offs, i think i paid 12 bucks for all the 3/8" ones but im thinking about some locking ones so theres less chance of me punching through a customers window when i drop a socket in another eco deisel

    you forgot that snap on also makes regular hand extentions with a black finish that look like impact extentions but say on them hand use only

    All you have to do with the pin detent is shove a Philips screw driver in the hole to release it.

    • @x1134x
      @x1134x 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You didn't get what he meant. If you put it on without the pin and the hole aligned, the pin holds the socket on and you can't push it down, because its not accessible through the hole.

    Awesome video, dumb question afoot, do snap on wobble plus extensions work with different socket brands? I have a set of Wright Tool sockets and I wanna make sure these will work with those.
