I agree. Simpler is adequate. One note I will add for guns with compensators and/or lights: spraying some “anti-spatter” spray (welders know what I’m talking about) to the comp and/or light bezel does seem to help with cleaning and reducing buildup. I didn’t come up with it; just heard it from another competitor about 7 months ago. Tried it and have been doing it for multiple guns since then.
I can't wait to receive my DR920P Elite. I attended the NRA Convention and It was fun to talk to Cody and Trevor about many things. The gun cleaning video is excellent. I've been over-cleaning my handguns. I will follow Trevor's lead and save wasted time and steps. Thanks.
Trevor, I farm. Outside most days hot, cold, dry, wet, dusty, muddy...... I carry every day! MR920 runs dirty! Awesome firearm! God bless! #2A #shallnotbeinfringed
My new CR920 needed a deep clean after the initial break in. Striker channel and striker safety had to be pulled to clean the channel as it got really gritty. I think mine was just over oiled during my break in. After that deep clean, it's all back to normal and runs great. You guys have me hooked now, looking at full size options for my next purchase.
@@m60itis sorry to hear that. I broke mine in with blazer brass. I'm about 400 rounds in and no malfunctions at all. It's silly accurate for its size. I'm getting insane groups at 25 yards on paper.
These things will run dirty. I put over 10k through one with only a simple break down and quick wipe every 1500-2000 rounds. Little oil and off to the races. Never had any issues
ordered a comp this weekend and im so excited to get out to the range. making it slanted is what sold me. looks like the pit viper style fom taran tactical
Excellent video. My cr 920 starts to miss fire every or around 200 to 300 rounds. I have to take out the firing pin and clean the channel. It's always has brass shavings and debris. Not sure if it will stop any time soon. Not a big deal. I'm not a gung-ho type of guy but if you have a fire arm you really need to shoot it a lot because problems like this could happen at the worst time.
I'm pretty convinced the comp on my XR920P is there for life. I've put 800 rounds through it, and it's still not loose enough to even pop open using the edge of a table like the other video shows. Not sure if there are other ideas, but it is a bit annoying not to have that working as expected.
Question: on page 27 of the manual it discusses lubrication and there is a picture that shows where trigger bar touches connector. At the exact point where the red arrow points in that picture I am seeing that kind of gunky manufacturer whitish gray lubricant or whatever that is. Is that okay to wipe off, or should I leave it be and oil over top of it?
I also typically run a little extra lubricant on my guns, but I live in Florida and want to avoid any possible rust accumulation. The only issue I have is that my concealed carry gun loves to collect lint on all those lubed surfaces…
Hi SS Corp. I have an MR920 elite. Little over 1300 rounds through it. Somewhere above 500 round mark, I started getting failure to get into battery at least once per magazine. Mag bump to the base helps the gun go into battery every single time and clear the issue every time. Happens when the gun is clean or dirty. It is lubed properly. Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
What’s the recommended cleaning cycle for set screw compensators? Maybe another tech video for applications using the set screw style compensator. I like them clean, but don’t want to wear out the set screw design on the comp 😆. Great video as always thank you!!
Hello Trevor! Have you made a cleaning video for the new MR920P Elite? If so please tag me on it. If not can you please make one? I am a visual learner thanks

Comped dr920,Cool gun till it malfunctions :/ failure to eject 2000 rounds later Not limp wristing Well cleaned and oiled Changed recoil spring Malfunctions with duty ammo
I’m sorry, did you say there’s a cr920p? Ok. Take my money. We’ll make this shadow systems #3. Dang I literally just bought the comp for my mr920 threaded barrel. Now I HAVE to own a cr920p.
No other gun company does this. I don't care if you like shadow systems or not if your gun company doesn't care about you knowing about their products you need to re think your purchasing.
You lost me when you didn't wear gloves to clean a gun. As an instructor who has his lead levels checked frequently you're setting a bad example. C'mon dude.
Your audio is pretty BAD, you should really think about wearing Apple Airpods, amazing microphone with blutooth connectivity, works so good that News Broadcasters use them telecasting on location for live story news updates during hurricanes, lol, you cannot go wrong with Apple Airpods.
I love that your using your conference room to clean your gun. Truly a based company!

I am kind of glad I got one of the earlier models that don't have that spring in the comp.

You know what else breaks down Carbon well is Dawn dish soap and hot water.
Was cleaning my bore with some clp and accidentally got a drop inside the slide. Think I wiped it all off, should I be concerned?
I like that comp

Great video, Traver.
Trevor, I think you've covered this in a past video but curious on your thoughts about wet vs dry for a concealed carry firearm.
Do Shadow Systems pistols come ready to fire from the factory? Just picked up a CR and wondering if I am ready to hit the range.
I'll say it until I'm blue in the face. Get a magnetic wand. 😂
This video pops off must be telling me to clean my MR and DR lol
