The Dig skill shouldn't be underestimated! It's amazing for farming Seeds, money or any other items/equipment you want! I literally have over 4 Million Gold in the Bank due to the Dig ability! It's also the only way I was able to get a full set of 8 Elevating Shoes early on by using it in Cave of Necrogond. Outside of Portoga is also a great place to abuse Dig due to being able to get 5 different seeds from the area!
I think it's crazy how this game JUST came out, and you already have maxed out experience. I have 90 hours into this game and I've only accumulated close to 4 milliion experience points for each player.
I found the cave just below Fairy Village to be a pretty awesome farm spot for both Wisdom & Luck seeds, as the enemies there drop both! Makes it a great place to abuse the Dig ability of the Merchant, as there's two seeds you can get there!
Thanks for the tips man! Am STILL chipping away at this game. I'm approaching the end game now & already have my entire party up to Level 50 & the Hero @ above Level 60. The Hero levels up much faster than the side characters! Their level requirements are significantly lower, specially after Level 45-50 or so! Still have a ways to go... Just finished fully exploring the Alefgard map, getting every single sparkly/secret spot. Now it's time to actually explore the towns/caves & finish off the story! At this rate my Hero might hit Level 99 before I even get to the Post Game! Could be playing this for yet another month or so before I'm done. I plan on unlocking ALL the wishes & getting every single reward from the Post Game boss. A couple things I noticed, one is that the Sage now levels significantly faster than previous versions! No longer do they require insane amounts of Exp to level! Also, it seems the Thief's stat gains have been significantly nerfed in this version... 😢 While they still have the very best Agility growth (just barely...), the rest of their stats are some of the lowest of any class across the board. It's a major bummer... They should at least have kept the Wisdom growth high so that they'd still make for a great class to transition a Magic user into! While I LOVE being able to Steal stuff, I'm debating whether or not it would be worth it to transition them to something else, like another Martial Artist perhaps. The MA has some of the best growths in the game for the stats that truly matter, and thus are now one of the slowest to level. Critical Claim REALLY eats thru their small MP pool, so I had to give them a Goddess Ring and that armor that reduces MP cost. Can't remember the name of it. Am so glad that they are even able to equip it as I believe it used to be reserved for Spellcasters. I think it used to be called the Bolero Robe or something like that, but they changed the name.
@Naztalgic_Memories lol I play when I can, and I play very slowly when I do. My actual in game time probably isn't that crazy but I'm sure it's at least triple how long it would take most ppl.

@Naztalgic_Memories No lol no way man, that would be extremely inefficient. There's no way I'd hit max rolls 10 times in a row lol. I do one, if I don't get max I reload. If I do I save. Even on the PS5 it takes freaking forever tho. I hate it lol. I've done a small handful but I doubt I will be using all of my seeds. I simply don't have the patience for it.
I farm on Dracky Difficulty so fights go by quicker since the enemy has less HP. It seems Dracky prevents you from dying by always having one HP. Since you can't die, Thwack is therefore immune!
This is the first version of this game that ive played and absolutely love. Question though, its my understanding that the hero cannot change vocations. And ive already tried dropping them off to change out for other classes AND tried changing their class directly which of course doesn't work. But i noticed you don't have a hero in the party in your video. How did you do that? I can't seem to find information about this anywhere else yet.
Not with my small sample size. I did a run with one, two and three Thief and they all came back around 14-18 in one hour so besides variance they seem pretty close to me.
Dig is also SUPER helpful for ALL kinds of farming, not just seeds! It gives you a chance to get a random item from the nearby monster's drop pools. Beware it only works 5 times. After 5 uses Dig will stop giving you anything until you leave & reenter the area. Thus it can be abused by simply walking into an area, use Dig 5 times, then walk out & reenter & do it again. If you're already actively farming, it doesn't hurt to throw this strat in every once in a while as you can often farm rare drops faster this way! This is actually an amazing way to get multiple pairs of Elevating Shoes, aka the rare drop for Liquid Metal Slimes!
@Naztalgic_Memories in an hour? Oh you'll have bunches by then. Using Dig over & over in the cave below Fairy Village I was getting a seed once every few minutes or so. Not to mention bunches of other consumables & Poison Needles lol, since the Moth enemies in there drop those. Just changing floors inside the Cave gives you a fresh set of 5 Dig uses, so just going back & forth between one floor & the next will work.
I wonder how good the Demon Spear is in this game? Do Abilities that let you hit all foes or all foes in a group carry over the chance for insta death?
When you know what your final team will look like. After 190 hours I finally made mine after a bunch of experimenting. Seed increases do stay on a Character but I made completely new ones so I would have wasted mine if I used them on older units.
@Naztalgic_Memories Yup, was thinking the same. I have a good idea of what my final party will be, but I'm not QUITE sure yet which characters I'll take down said path, thus I may hold off a bit on the Seeds til I figure that part out.
That should be a player preference. No one needs to hold your hand on using items in such a way. Max what ever characters you want. Finalize your job, save your seeds. That's it.
@kevynhansyn2902 That's all fine & dandy, but everyone has their own way of playing. Right now we are not talking about personal preference or casual play, we're talking about doing things the most efficient way to make your characters as powerful as possible. You're right, it IS player preference! Nobody asked you to play this way if you don't want to. This is how I, as well as many others prefer to play! You got some sort of problem with min/maxing or something?
@skins4thewin so long as they are character you plan on keeping it doesn't really matter when you use them as the increase stays 100% from seeds after switching jobs. If you plan on getting all abilities/spells one each character, I'd recommend getting to lvl 48-50 in each first (or whatever is last ability level is at least). Post game you can get a way to sagw w/o needing a book each time, there's a play to get 20+ k per battle in a team of 4 and if the same enemy pops up 3 times it's around 78k per each character on a team of 4. It's better to get a team to 50-60 like this and then solo your final iteration of each. Then if you've done all the jobs you want and take them to 99 you only need the seens to max final stats. If you play uleach job to around 50 and switch hrhem buly.thw time you get to the last at 50 you'll have somewhere between 500-700 in each stat (depending on title rebuild stats) and then by the time your at 99 most will be above 750 if not close to max. This makes seed investment I to a final built character much easier to manage, cuts down on over investing and so on. I've heard you can unequip gear and seed max and over stat too, even though it shows 999, but I've also heard some things are programed w a hard cap even below 999 (like 850) so technically seed and or gear past that point don't matter. HOWEVER... I don't know which are just visible caps and which are programmed hard caps.
Not with my small sample size. I did a run with one, two and three Thief and they all came back around 14-18 in one hour so besides variance they seem pretty close to me.
This game just unloads seeds on unsuspecting players. I do find that it's better to put seeds on everyone but the hero due to them just becoming a healbot. Um, a few things you have wrong as wow the guides you read were waaaaay off in actual Facts for some reason. It's been long since verified and tested that Merchant + Thief has no impact on either, that they've always had independent rolls. So I wonder what guides you read, as that's been well understood in the West since the starting days of GameFAQs for the GBC (and anyone who dived into the SFC version). I've actually not even heard that, so I really wonder what you sourced for this, as it seems like sites with really shit information that never double checked, never verified, never did any testing, and never bothered sourcing anything if it's like a wiki or something. Not upset at you, just at the amount of BS that somehow retains itself in the lexicon of understanding of these games. While the SFC you could get a steal and a drop. The mobile release (Japan only), locked out Drop if you stole, this remains true for all "new" ports since, until this game, which borrows the SFC mechanics, while the iOS/Droid and Switch versions (and in Japan, 3DS/PS4) copy-pasted the original mobile game, only giving it a facelift visually and auditorily (iOS/Droid just dropped back in the SFC tiles and monsters, while Switch was essentially RPG Maker with slightly tweaked SFC backgrounds). ==== Tortragon = Wyrtle at 2:20 NEVER had Seed of Resilience / Stamina (you also have to recall in the old days Stamina = Resilience in the iOS/Droid/Switch localization muck up they never patched out). They've always had the Iron Helmet as they do here (even as far back as the NES). Wherever you got that from mixed up the Tortragon/Wyrtle with the later upgrade King Tortragon / TortoLord / Wyrtoise and the Seed of Luck in every version.
Most of the ones you mention relative to seeds and removing them as drops, were generally in the 1/128 to 1/256 drop rate groups. So far the exception is Bag 'o Laughs being the BEST Stamina Seed / Seed of Resilience (really Stamina, seriously SE's sloppiness here and not fixing it pisses me off, as it's a quick patch), with 1/64 rate and the earliest prior to Green Dragon's / Dragon's in Zoma's castle. Jewelbag / Goodybag NEVER carried a seed. They've always dropped the Flashy Clothes / Flashy Suit / Garish Garb. Where that's inaccurate data was obtained I would love to know, as that needs correcting if it's a wiki. Old FAQ, it's unlikely, but at least it should be a lesson to be more cautious about what FAQs are looked at. Yep, Armful was one of those 1/256 drop rates, so a terrible monster to farm from anyway. They decided to restore his NES drop for some reason, which was the Snowblast Sword in that game -> Blizzard Blade. I wonder why, as it's been changed to the seed since the SFC, but it does make it a bit more broken with Thieves and potential lucky "Digs", which was likely the reason for the change to balance out the early game in the original (as it was a 1/256 drop on the NES, so really awesome if it dropped pre-Baramos...nix the Sword of Thunder, lol). Putregon makes sense. It's one of the worst enemies to farm Seed of Strength from, 1/128. So having the option for the new Demon Spear is a welcome change. Manticore has NEVER dropped a Seed of Wisdom. It's always dropped the Shield of Sorrow in every version, from the NES onward.
... Seed of Resilience DOES exist. I swear SE blundered so hard on this one. Seed of Resilience was Seed of Stamina. They erroneously decided to call the stat Stamina in the iOS/Droid and Switch releases Resilience for some inexplicable reason, and never patched in a fix for the stat name or the seed name. So your point about that is inaccurate as most of the Seed of Stamina droppers are present. I think they removed the Bag o' Laughs as Stamina is less significant given it's been buffed fairly hard in this version, and there aren't very many personalities with negative, or hard negative Stamina growth. As well, Seed of Life no longer impacts Stamina growth, as in any excess points above and beyond Stamina from seeding do not seem to impact growth, or is less likely to (and it's just RNG being heavily favourable to those individuals reporting and showing massive MP and HP growth from seeding but the corresponding Wisdom to MP and Stamina to HP is like 1/3rd to even 1/4, rather than 1/2, which is the normal growth range. Yeah, it is nice they expanded what monsters drop what. Though more significantly will be knowing the drop rates as well as the general spawn rate. Yeah, sorry I'm going through your video piecemeal and responding as I go.
My research comprised of Reddit Posts, IGN, Gamespot and some fandom/wiki's. I don't recall exactly which ones but they were the top ones on google search. Thank you so much for the length reply Asia!

@@ignasia7230 Bag o Laughs information on it dropping seeds was from this guide: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/466975-dragon-quest-iii-hd-2d-remake/faqs/81570/bestiary#monsters-by-region
