- Wheel selection is important to perfecting the look of your ride. Sometimes the bargain wheels you find at the swap meet or a deal from a friend doesn't always bolt right up to your vehicle. That is where wheel adapters can save you a little coin over buying a new set of wheels.

@summitracing - My friend has an import ricer with huge rims and low profile tyres. The offset is also quite extreme, and the tilted camber means he has a constant rub against the fenders. He has tried a number of spacers and adaptors to achieve the look he was after. My question however is - do kill just him, or him and his entire bloodline?

So I got a 2006 Scion tC but the bolt pattern is slightly off as I got wheels for them size 18 x 9 but as I said they won’t fit do to the bolt pattern being slightly off. Which ones would you recommend for them to fit my car

I'm looking at changing a 5x114.3 to a 4x100 bolt pattern on my 2024 Nissan Kicks for the winter only. I have winter tires on rims which I used on my 2019 Kicks which had a 4x100 bolt pattern but my 2024 Kicks is a 5x114.3 First is it possible? And....what size adapter do I get? If it is possible where do I purchase them. I'm in Ontario Canada.

First you need to determine the current bolt pattern of the wheels you are trying to install. The SRX has a 6x120 bolt pattern of which we currently do not sell an adapter to convert from a 6x120 bolt pattern to a 5 lug pattern.
My wheels fit, but the wheels are thicker, so adaptors , or longer studs ? I like the idea of the stock studs so i can run my rallys with snows in the winter, without the extra length... but ?? What do you suggest
How safe are adapters? I heard they snap, wear down tire unevenly and wear down wheel bearings since it’s out more.
Quality hub centric adapters that are properly installed are safe. Pushing the wheel out can put extra stress in suspension and steering parts, however it would be no different than using a wheel with similar offset.
Summit Racing thanks for replying. Your absolutely right about the offset is the same, I didn’t think of that. Also lug nuts are a bitch especially having double with the adapter.

are hub centric wheel adapters in any way better than the normal flat adapters?
Edgar Cuen Yes. When working with wheel adapters please use Hub Centric. This helps remove stress on all wheel studs which when using regular flat adapters it placed stress on your wheel studs.

My son has a 97 dodge pkup. We have a friend who has some wheels off of a toyota pkup. Both 5 whole patterns but the wheels obviously don't fit. I can get some adapters but he's nervous it'll make the hubs weak. I'd only go with like the 1/2 in. adapters so this wouldn't happen....your thoughts??

if your tires are pushed out further why not just buy tires that arent as wide. 1 inch spacer? Go down 25mm in your tire width

We are sorry to say, Summit Racing does not sell 5 to 4 lug bolt pattern adapters for that application.
Hi i have a phaeton from 2012 V8 and i have BMW 7 Series 5x120 22” . and They have to fit the car 5x112 wich Can i yuse and how much Would my whells stick out of the fender.
I am unaware of any wheel adapters with a 5x112mm pattern that well sell. You need to check with a Euro-specific company. You will need to compare the backspace of each wheel and then take into account the width of the adapter.

Dumb question I'm sure but my 01 camry rims and tires won't fit on my recently purchased 06 corolla.. how do I get this to get these rims to fit the corolla??

Changing the back spacing is a bad idea, The alignment geometry will not be proper, and the tires will wear prematurely, even with an alignment.

I just got my wheel adapters and was told to retorque the first 60 to 90 miles , do I gotta do it every 90 miles or is it just the first time ?
You will not need to check them every 90 miles. You should do this after the first 60-90 miles however, to make sure nothing loosened after the first few heat cycles.
Can the adapter change the bolt circle
Yes, some adapters can offer a different bolt pattern on the wheel vs hub side.

Yes, after driving and rechecking the lug torque a few times, they should be trouble free.
