      @@em9361 No. she was from Ukraine, simple peasant. Her grandmother and older ancestors were serfs belonging to a Jewish master (pomeschik) and everyone who were his serfs had his last name. Russian slavery (serfdom) was abolished in 1861. She was born in 1918, but she said, still, all residents of that village she grew up at had the same last name of that Jewish owner.

    One of our top fav simple desserts is mashed bananas! 4-5 overripe bananas, big knob of butter, and a pinch of salt on the stovetop. Mash and stir until warm and it is downright decadent.

      You could put the bananas into this custard, and it would be awesome.

    Looks decadent and delicious. We do something similar in Ecuador where we whip up separately the yolks and whites, and after adding some sweetener to the whipped egg yolks (plus a little rum;) the two are combined together carefully. This is easier, I'll give this a try

    Hi there, I saw some of your videos about gaps diet and I have a question. On stage one you say fermented foods are necessary.
    What if someone is histamine intolerant and cannot consume fermented foods, also probiotics do release histamine. How gaps diet can be done in this case? Can someone still do it and heal?

    we are on gaps intro and just added the yolks this week my daughter saw another video where you made Russian custard she loved the idea of it a fantasized having it for days before she could and it didn't disappoint. both my five year old boy and 7 year old girl love it and are so excited telling people we can have raw egg yolks now. I struggle to get meat stock in them I do " gravy" which is all the gooey bits they won't eat pureed with just enough meat stock to blend. I make my meat stocks rich my kids its like pulling teeth to get one cup of meat stock a day. today was the first day of kindergarten and e even though I was very clear my son was to ha e nothing other than what I brought. when they left for the cafatria somehow he didn't know what was going on and to get his lunch and he was served a school lunch and he knows better but also he is five! he is going to go along with what's going on and its his first packed lunch in a school setting how was he supposed to know. he was given a hamburger he says they said it was gluten free but I doubt it they had gluten free option for a kid that was suppose to have a packed lunch and they didn't check his backpack. i don't want to take away egg yolks because someone gave him bread. I am actually not seeing the reactions I saw earlier this summer and in the spring when we took him off gluten and dairy and two weeks in dad gives him stuff. but it does give us some pause for introducing more foods in stage 2 because I have reactions from non gaps foods interfering with data. I am overwhelmed and I said this week my egg whites will go in the trash. I was going to freeze them up and share with someone to stretch scrambled eggs maybe next week but healing is priority. my son has been so low energy for two weeks basically he wasn't eating I was trying to get meat stock in but eventually had to cave and let him have canned fish. Russian custard and my boy has energy again and I have no interest in going back. realized I need to increase my budget for this leg of the journey.

    Is it okay to cook it in a bain marie for like 3 minutes until it thickens up a bit more and make it less susceptible to bacteria?

  • @Lealea476
    @Lealea476 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey marissa love this recipe. Tried to do it but I’m not sure what went wrong. It wouldn’t fluff up. I used my stand mixer on the whip setting which didn’t work so then I tried immersion blender and then tried the regular blender on frapee setting and none of those worked 🙁
    Any tips would be helpful cuz I know my kids would eat this and I I struggle to get them to eat yolks. They ended up wanting to eat it just as is lol. Thank you!

      Try the carnivore elimination protocol (diet). Oxalates in vegetables are a top contributor to eczema.

    • @amazingrace4u
      @amazingrace4u 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh interesting, but I wonder if it would be safe to eat unless you're dehydrating above 170 degrees. My dehydrator has a mode that will cook high for a period of time for raw foods like this. Always wondered what the use case would be! Update me if you try that!
