Why didn't see this channel before? 2 and a half months into the GAPS diet, struggling so much. I've lost so much weight. My family is worried because I look so malnourished, but I don't want to give up. I am healing from this ulcerative colitis and I can't wait to get to stage 6... but it's so so hard. I basically can't eat anything I see in my fridge, cupboard, pantry... OMG! I'm just so hungry all the time. I need to go through these videos to see if there's anything I can actually have ... apart from hmm one broth. Bone broth is actually what's keeping me going at the moment.
This looks great! I loved pancakes my first time around but they were too high in calories with the nut butter for me. I’m looking forward to trying this!! Thank you 💜
Yes! All squashes are allowed on full GAPS. Some people need to avoid sweet squashes like butternut on intro but non sweet ones and pumpkin work well for most people on intro. Hope that helps!
Thank you for this video. I am transitioning into stage 3 of the GAPS diet now but I do not tolerate eggs yet. Would you have any advice for me to pepare the pancakes?
You're welcome! I don't know of a way to make the pancakes with no eggs. You could try them with only squash and nut butter, but I'm thinking they wouldn't hold together well. If that doesn't work, I would probably just skip the pancakes for now, and focus on other foods. Sending well wishes your way!
@@bumblebeeapothecary In the Gaps book there is a recipe for bread/cake/muffin without egg. It has the same ingredients as the pancake only without the egg. I think I will try that.
I just want to move in with your family you make yummy stuff just getting started with Gap diet my 4 year old just got diagnosed with ASD Emotions are flying everywhere 😢
Hi :) sorry for asking so many questions but you're my favorite channel for GAPS :). I'm a bit confused about the squash, carrots etc. If I'm doing gaps for a severe candida infection, wouldn't introducing these so soon only feed candida/pathogens? In all the candida diets, carrots and squash are ruled out for having too much natural sugar and starch. Also if there's no raw milk where I live, no farms either, would buying organic kefir from a shop and fermenting it further be adequate or do you skip the dairy altogether if you can't source raw? Thank you.
No worries! Thanks! I need to go and update some of my videos, because Dr. Natasha recently removed butternut squash from GAPS intro. It is okay on full GAPS, but it did end up having too much sugar and starch for intro. Carrots are allowed, though, and if they are cooked until they are very soft, they are wonderful on stage 1 and beyond of intro. If you don't have access to raw milk, Dr. Natasha recommends getting the highest quality pasteurized milk you can (preferably not homogenized) and making yogurt or kefir at home. Hope that helps!
@@bumblebeeapothecary Oh really, I was unaware of that. Good to know, so you would just skip onto the next stages then? Shame as it would be delicious but considering even carrots make my candida flare up, I think it would have a field day on squash. Sorry if I'm repeating myself but how long did it take you to move onto full gaps? I'm praying I can manage it in 6 weeks, I don't think I have the strength to last on stocks any longer. Thank you.
@@WeHeartMC I learned it from Dr. Natasha in my training to become a certified GAPS coach. I am going to ask her if there is somewhere a person can go to keep up to date on these changes if/when she makes them. I think most people don't know.
So why am I the only one here struggling? I don't get it. I tried it 3 times and every time it doesn't glue together. It's falling apart into hundred pieces no matter how long or how hot/less hot I fry it. HELP!

Are we allowed any type of squash on GAPS? Would butternut squash work as well?

what if you just cook the squash in boiling water?
That might work, but it could end up having too much moisture.
@@bumblebeeapothecary thanks a lot. I just cook it in the oven and I almost burn it. I will cook it less time the next time. Thanks a lot again.

Maybe try adding another egg? Or strain your squash more to remove excess liquid? Best of luck to you!
@elinalaplant8475 thank you. I make scrambles eggs instead nowadays 😜
Word to the wise...don't use squash you canned. It's very watery and it translates into the pancake.
Good tip! Thanks for sharing 😊
